I made a ticket about this & couldnt really find any related posts or sections so hopefully im not the only one having this issue, but, whenever I launch the game it causes my entire computer to crash/restart. It shuts off my computer for maybe about .5 seconds and immediately boots back up. I have to login to windows (like what would happen with a normal restart except much much quicker).
At first I thought it could be a hardware issue since I've never had any game crash and have it restart my entire computer. In the past crashing would just close the .exe.
However after spending multiple hours double checking all my hardware (CPU, RAM, GPU, connections, fans, heatsync, I even triple checked my power supply) I couldn't find anything wrong. CPU Temps are low 50s so it cant be overheating & I even tried underclocking. Im running a Ryzen 5900x & Nvidia 3080 so the hardware is all brand new, less than a month old, and was working perfectly for the past month before this update. I tested everything I could possbly think of so it has to be an issue with this latest patch/update.
It only started happening (2/25/2021) after NA servers came back online after the transfer/patch. I had played BDO multiple times, multiple hours, multiple different days with this new computer before the transfer but nothing like this ever happened. It continues to happen at the lowest possible graphical settings, & doesn't happen in any other video game either. I even when I tried to purposefully push my PC to the max. If it was a PSU issue, surely I would be restarting much more often when a high load is applied rather than just in bdo. If it was a CPU issue surely more CPU intensive games or CPU benchmark tests would crash it too, but no.
I reinstalled the game multiple times (both on my m.2 SSD & to my HDD) to see if it was a bad install, I updated Windows + all drivers to the latest version, (I even tried reverting to older drivers) but I cant seem to fix it. I don't know what is causing it, or where to begin looking.
If anyone else has this issue or has any ideas let me know. Thanks.
Hi, pretty crazy situation you have here.
I might have a solution for you =)
Update your BIOS. It seem to be a known issue for every game that uses easy anti cheat.
*Edit:
Well a "known" issue not in general. It's either an issue with the new Ryzen 5k series or the RTX 3000s...
The BIOS update was how some of the people with the same issue solved it.

Oh my god you are the best!!! Updating BIOS was the one thing I hadn't done yet because I'm Inexpierenced & was scared to risk bricking my motherboard. It was still under warranty so I figured I might as well try.
I eventually updated it to the latest version (3.20 --> 3.90) and my game seems to work correctly now. No more crashes! :D
For anyone else that stumbles by this, I have a Asrock x570 phantom gaming 4 motherboard and the bios was on version 3.20 (the very first BIOS version with ryzen 9 support from 8/2020).
Glad I was able to help you. =)

I've got the exact same issue here. And just like you, I've tried everything. I been testing for the past 5 days. There's nothing wrong with my hardware, drivers or anything. I tested everything and trieed everything. Nothing seem to work. Whenever I launch black desert, 5 minutes into the game then boom, PC will automatically restart. And that happens only when I play black desert. I have updated BIOS but that did not solve the problem. I have no idea what I am supposed to do!
spaghetti code.
This may or may not be true, but it sure seems PA has invested ZERO in quality control and testing, and instead relies on user bug reporting.
