Friendly reminder that party and platoon chats are a good option for group roleplay rather than using the General chat!
It defintely shouldn't be like this though!
Please don't be scared to Roleplay in public as it helps bring others into RP!

The vast majority if RP I've seen ingame have been in languages I do not speak and the often lengthy messages can be very bothersome when they fill up a big chunk of my chat box constantly. I want General chat to be on in my main chat window to be able to communicate with people I encounter ramdonly out on grind/gathering spots so what I and a lot of people I've talked to in my guild end up doing is putting all these roleplayers on the blocklist.
If you want more people to be interested in RP being on everyones blocklist isnt the way to do it.

how u know they rp if u don't know language?
edit: and why u care about this? i keep general open in different window.. it my primary window actually, default. and it only has general and /w. it's great.. never had a problem reading that, or a space problem u know. on the spammer channels tho.. like server or group.. ya, there..

5-6 line blocks of text is either RP or guild recruitment and one of those have a guild name at the start so kinda easy to tell them apart.
Thats also the reason why I dont have channel or world chats on.
More chat windows is honestly the last thing I need. BDO already has to much onscreen stuff. I'd rather just keep blocking every RPer I come across and I'm just replying in this thread to be open and informative about the whole thing. I know I'm far from the only one that puts them on block list immediately and I just think its a shame when they might be nice ppl otherwise.

Perhaps that is just a problem with EU.
But either way, General Chat roleplay helps build strong RP communities and introduces many people to the world of RP :)

Being on the blocklist of those kind of people won't affect your journey, they are irrevelant.

what roleplayers go out roleplaying in grind areas? Mostly they are in towns so that reasoning doesn't make sense to me unless people are literally roleplaying in grind areas which they would never do. So I don't see the problem. Some people don't know that roleplaying is going on if they dont see it actively in general chat.
