so, are all people gonna get banned which use their mouse software to bind mousebutton X to a hotbar spell?
are all people gonna get banned which use programs like autohotkey?
are all people gonna get banned which use mouse/keyboard macros to automate processes like farming or gathering?
what is it, PA? are my thumb buttons on my mmo mouse, which are linked to a hotkey spell getting me banned after maintenance?
their policy is supposed to be poorly specified so they have plausible deniability, "oopsie, we didn't mean to ban you, that's not how you interpret the policy uwu"
autohotkey?
Anticheat will kick you from game when detect autohotkey in memory.
It's extreme stupid. Why? I can't afk and play other game where I can't change keybinds in game so I use autohotkey for this.
yea the issue is that you have to interpret this ban policy in the first place. things like this which might threaten your account, where some people have spent loads of money, shouldnt be up to interpretation at all.
for example, i use my thumbutton to press the 6 key on my hotbar, technically this could be considered a macro. i have never seen any mmo banning players for it tho, since its still kind of a 1:1 input and it isnt automating anything. the other thing is, that developers and moderators have specified that its not bannable, it seems like they dont do that here. i really just wanna know if i have to get a mouse without thumbbuttons now :D

A single keybind does not a macro make.
Yep this is more like a shortcut, it's ok. Macro is a combination of input, sometimes with specific timing

If you bind 1 mouse key to 1 hotbar key is not a macro, you dont even need a program for that, you can do it in game.
Do you think using macro on gathering(more than 1 input on 1 key) is a fair play? Thats common sense... ofcourse you should get banned for that, i dont see a difference between using macro and speedhacking.
Well, I would like to hear also clarification about this subject...
For example, I have 1745 Oasis chest. So basically I'm supposed to do 3490 clicks to my space bar to open all of them? This looks kinda stupid.
If for example for that case is not allowed to do a simple macro of space bar, please improve the open chest system to open multiples and not a single one.
I'm totally against macro for pvp or auto farm but for little things as the example above it should not be punished.
I have one of my mouse buttons rebound to Q, , I have another button on my mouse rebound to be straight Shift, because my 43 year old hands can't press Shift+Q+LMB and spam A/D, my fingers just can't move like that, I can however hold down 3 mouse buttons, 2 with my thumb one with my finger and spam A/D. If this ends up getting me banned, I will let you know. I cannot imagine that rebinding mouse keys would be a banable offence tho.

If it is 1 to 1 conversion it's allowed and not a macro but just a simple rebind.
If you eg. bound "Q+Shift" to one button, it was never allowed and was always bannable!
are all people gonna get banned which use programs like autohotkey?
The use of autohotkey was never allowed!
are all people gonna get banned which use mouse/keyboard macros to automate processes like farming or gathering?
automating processes was never allowed, so yes they get banned!
