Valencia Monster Zones

Last Edited on : Apr 24, 2024, 16:25 (UTC)

Congratulations on reaching Lv. 56!
You may feel as if you’re ready to take on the world now that you’ve awakened your character. If you’re looking for a challenge, then look no further. The monster zones of Valencia are full of challenges (and surprises!).
One’s level, equipment, and skill will determine the difficulty of the monster zones in the desert kingdom. It’s a good idea to prepare plenty of meals, potions, elixirs, and Elion’s Tear before you start your journey.
You’ll encounter a special fearsome monster known as the Chief Gatekeeper when you explore 4 of the monster zones of Valencia. It is nearly impossible to defeat the Chief Gatekeeper on your own if you’re just adventuring into this territory for the first time. They’re on a whole new level, so make sure to bring a party if you choose to fight them upon first encountering them.
In addition to the Chief Gatekeepers, certain commander-like monsters will also appear in some of the zones. These elite-type commander monsters are far more powerful than the elite monsters you have previously encountered and can summon reinforcements.

Of important note is that there is always a risk of getting lost if the monster zone you’re going to or returning from is part of the desert. As you may already know, the navigation function cannot be used in the Great Desert of Valencia. It’s also a good idea to bring some Purified Water and Star Anise Tea. The Purified Water is used to cure heatstroke while the Star Anise Tea is used to cure hypothermia, both desert illnesses your character will suffer from when traversing this treacherous terrain.
You can read more about the desert and its particularities on the [Desert] page.

Bashim Base

The large stretch of land here is the home of the Bashim, a demibeast tribe that has lived here for as long as Valencia has existed.
They’re proud of their rich culture and speak an indigenous language. Because they are reclusive and hostile, adventurers avoid contact with this tribe.

1. Monster Types and Level

1) Basic Information
• Mostly Lv. 55 ~ 58 monsters
• Melee: Ohonsey, Terruda Infantryman, Terruda Reinforced Infantryman, Terruda Bandsman, Khala Elite Combatant, Khala Commanding Officer
• Melee/Ranged: Terruda Thrower, Khala Reinforced Thrower
• Ranged: Bashim Energy Totem, Bashim Guard Totem, Bashim Target Totem, Ohonsey Archer, Ohonsey Elementalist
• Others: Bashim Extermination Totem
• Violent: Terruda Reinforced Infantryman

2) Features
It is located in a fairly large canyon, and monsters appear widely and densely.
There are no unique item drops, but you gain good experience defeating the monsters here. Additionally, you can purchase Marni's Stones from Wacky Toshi, which enables you to gain even more experience.
You can obtain Asula’s Weakened Magic Ring, which can be exchanged for Asula’s Crimson Eye Ring, useful as an alternative to gearing up for secondary characters.

2. Level/Equipment Requirements

It is one of the easiest locations in Valencia, but if you are considering experience gain efficiency, try to meet the requirements.
For non-awakened characters, it is better to add +10 to the shown requirements.

3. Strategies

1) Precautions
Except for the violent Terruda Reinforced Infantryman, there is not much of a threat. However, since many Adventurers come here alone, there may be cases of conflict.

2) Key Locations and Route
If you go up the road starting from NPC Torenandu, you will see a circular structure. Since there is a high density of monsters there, you can achieve good efficiency by going in circles.

Since it is distributed over a very wide area, there is no need to focus only on the best locations.

4. Major Item Drops

• Lesha’s Artifact - Melee Evasion
• Lesha’s Artifact - Melee Damage Reduction
• Marsh’s Artifact - Melee AP
• Asula’s Weakened Magic Ring
• Black Stone (Armor & Weapon)
• Caphras Stone
• Mass of Pure Magic
• Yona’s Fragment
• Sealed Black Magic Crystal
• Scroll Written in Ancient Language
• Ancient Spirit Dust
• Trace of the Nature

5. User Density

Coming here with a party is less efficient than coming alone, combat experience-wise.
Although it is not a huge hit, the amount of Caphras stones and scrolls you can obtain is fairly stable, making the area popular for those who recently arrived in Valencia.

Desert Naga Temple

This region is the ancestral home of the Nagas. Considered a sacred temple by them, they were forced to settle it in recent times after they were expelled from their home in the southeastern swamps of Valencia.
Although the Nagas have no intention of befriending the humans, they wish to avoid war with them because both share their hatred towards the Fogans.

• Melee: Desert Naga Combatant, Desert Naga Commanding Officer

• Ranged: Desert Naga Combatant Monk

• Others: Desert Naga Gigantic Guardian Tower, Desert Naga Statue

• Violent: Desert Naga Chief Gatekeeper (very strong!)

2) Features

The distribution of monsters is balanced along the path leading to the narrow canyon.

Because it is a desert area, you must always bring purified water and star anise tea.

From time to time, you’ll obtain Serap’s necklace. It is not that expensive, but it serves as an additional source of silver.

Beware of the chief gatekeeper that can appear occasionally. It can be quite dangerous if you’re alone, so always be on your guard.

Additionally, you can purchase Marni's Stones from Wacky Toshi, which enables you to gain even more experience.

3. Strategies

1) Precautions
You need to be careful of the Desert Naga Commanding Officer’s high vitality and immunity to certain debuffs, and of the Desert Naga Combatant Monk’s magic damage, as it is burdensome when hit from behind, so it is best to kill them first.

In the case of the Chief Gatekeeper, it sometimes appears at specific points. Its basic attack power and vitality are very high, and you’ll never face it alone, as monsters will respawn nearby.
Additionally, as your distance from it increases, more caution is advised, as it uses powerful flame breath techniques.

2) Key Locations and Route
If you go northwest from Sand Grain Bazaar, there is an NPC who gives you quests for the Desert Naga Temple. If you pass there and go further northwest, you will find the best place where monsters are concentrated.

The main parking spot is where the quest giver NPC is located at. To the northwest of it, you’ll find the main area of the monster zone.

4. Major Item Drops

• Lesha’s Artifact - Ranged Evasion
• Lesha’s Artifact - Ranged Damage Reduction
• Marsh’s Artifact - Ranged AP
• Serap’s Necklace

• Black Stone (Armor & Weapon)
• Caphras Stone
• Mass of Pure Magic
• Yona’s Fragment
• Sealed Black Magic Crystal
• Scroll Written in Ancient Language
• Ancient Spirit Dust
• Trace of Nature

Note that there is also a low chance of obtaining Specter’s Energy in this monster zone.

5. User Density

Although it has the disadvantage of desert illnesses, it is not far from Sand Grain Bazaar. It always tends to have Adventurers in it thanks to the silver earned from the junk loot, Caphras stones, and scrolls.

Titium Valley

This is where the Fogans decided to settle down after taking it from the Nagas, but their presence here has weakened due to many of them having migrated to Serendia. Still, they are in good spirits because they, and not the Nagas, are the ones living in a valley with fresh water flowing through.

This valley is called Titium Valley after their chief's name, also known as the Fogan Prince.

2) Key Locations and Route
Since the monster placement is balanced throughout the valley, there is no best location.

Note that there is also a low chance of obtaining Specter’s Energy in this monster zone.

5. User Density

There are no item drops that give you a sense of great luck, but it is a monster zone with moderately good combat experience gain and moderately good returns for the time spent there.
Although it is undervalued in favor of other locations, mainly due to its remote location, it can be said to be a well-balanced zone.

Cadry Ruins

The old Cadry Shrine, once part of Valencia but taken over by those who turned their backs on history, has in the present become a den for cultists who believe they can achieve eternal life by consuming black stone powder. The cult worships Kzarka and believes that one day the Lord of Corruption will be resurrected. Rumor has it that the cult also kidnaps travelers and adventurers to offer them as sacrifices to the deity.

2) Features

The Ring of Cadry Guardian drops frequently, which makes this location attractive to those who want the ring either for themselves or to sell it.
If you’re alone, make sure to not end up ambushed by the violent monsters.

The Cadry Fighter approaches you while protecting itself with a shield, and uses a skill that can stun you, the Cadry Armored Fighter uses a powerful stun attack, and the Cadry Black Mage fires long-distance attacks from all directions.
If you’re used to fighting with your character, it can be fun and easy, but keep in mind that it can be difficult if you’re not used to the class you’re playing.

Beware of the chief gatekeeper and the commander who can appear occasionally. They can be quite dangerous if you’re alone, so always be on your guard.
When your HP drops, the chief gatekeeper starts firing powerful AoE attacks. If you do not avoid this, no matter how high your defense is, it can quickly lead to a cold death, so be careful.

2) Key Locations and Route
There is a high density of monsters from the main shrine area to the road to the north, so if you meet the requirements you can enjoy your time here.

Some say that entering from Kunid’s Vacation Spot is best.

4. Major Item Drops

• Cadry’s Piece – Obsidian Decoration
• Cadry’s Piece – Ruby Ornament
• Cadry’s Piece – Blue Ring
• Trace of Nature

If you combine the three Cadry’s pieces, you’ll obtain a Ring of Cadry Guardian.

Note that there is also a low chance of obtaining Specter’s Energy in this monster zone.

5. User Density

Although it was not very popular due to being pushed out by the Crescent Shrine’s silver gain, it is gaining popularity once more as the monster population has increased significantly and it’s not out in the desert.

It is recognized as an excellent monster zone where there are many monsters wearing armor, so hitting them feels good, the combat experience gain is reasonable, and even higher difficulty monsters such as the Cadry Commander appear, giving you a better chance to obtain not only the Ring of Cadry Guardian, but also Serap’s Necklace.

Due to the nature of the terrain, the distance from a town is somewhat disappointing, but it can be easily covered by using nearby outbuildings.

Crescent Shrine

The remnants of the ancient Valencian civilization can be found in the Crescent Shrine.
Although much of the ruins have been covered in sand, and their shape has changed due to numerous sandstorms and the passing of time, one can still find traces of the shrine here and there.
It is rumored that the remaining Argos Saunils here still hold blood festivals whenever there is a crescent moon.

2) Features
Because it is a desert area, you must always bring purified water and star anise tea.
The Ring of Crescent Guardian drops frequently, which makes this location attractive to those who want this popular ring either for themselves or to sell it.
Note that this area is considered lawless because of the PvP rules while in the desert!

It is a place that is especially popular with high-level Adventurers, as it offers a chance to obtain the popular Ring of Crescent Guardian.

However, as there are many Adventurers with good equipment, and it is an area where desert player-killing (PK) is allowed, there is a lot of conflict between them, so you must always be careful.

Gahaz Bandits’ Lair

The Gahaz Bandits were driven away from the bazaar by the Katan army a few years ago.
Gahaz Tuval, the leader of the bandits, is a well-known figure in the black market. Recently, it is rumored that he has captured a black dragon and is looking to return to the land they were expelled from after taming it.

This is because they move quickly and are immune to down attacks and more, so unless you’re quite above the requirements, you always face them with the feeling of being the one chased.

It is best to group up all the enemies together. For this, attack the melee ones and bring them closer to the ranged enemies.

It is easy to find and access from Barhan Gateway and the road to the west, so there is no best location.

This is a monster zone you first cross when doing the main questline of Valencia. It serves as a good testing ground to see if you’re prepared for the challenges ahead.

It became popular due to the frequency with which sealed magic crystals drop and the good amount of silver one can earn, so beware of other Adventurers taking the area for themselves!

The monsters in the area are a mix of human and demihuman types, with the latter being the stronger of the two.
The zone is designed for parties of 3 Adventurers to fight together.

2. Level/Equipment Requirements

Since the basilisks possess high vitality and attack power, it is best to come with higher AP than the recommended value.
For non-awakened characters, it is better to add +10 above the requirements below.

It is a quite challenging option when first entering Valencia, so it is highly recommended to strengthen yourself first in other Valencian monster zones before delving into Basilisk Den.

Roud Sulfur Mine

Roud Sulfur Mine is located in and around the volcano of Mount Gavinya, to the northeast of Valencia City.
It is the only place that produces sulfur with 99% purity. However, there always is the danger of a sudden explosion caused by the toxic gas in the air.

3. Strategies

1) Precautions
The Lava tribe tends to gather in small groups, each with a hydraulic nozzle and a condenser.
One emits toxic gas in four directions, and the other explodes a few seconds after it receives damage, inflicting debuffs.
Additionally, several of the Lava tribe members use knockback and knockdown skills, and inflict continuous damage, so it is a good idea to take HP potions with you.

Of course, this is not very difficult when you meet the requirements, but if it is your first time, remembering this will help you have a good time here.

2) Key Locations and Route
As they’re in small groups, it’s good to venture both outside and inside the mine to get to as many of them as you can.

Pila Ku Jail

Although the exact time of Pila Ku Jail’s construction is unknown, the most credible sources say it was built during the reign of Valencia’s 3rd king.
It is said to have been constructed to imprison the evil alchemist, Caphras, who caused many problems in Valencia around that time.
It is speculated that Caphras either died there, or escaped, or even that he was immortal. However, one thing is for sure, the prisoners that have committed terrible crimes are all still imprisoned there.

All monsters are Lv. 60 here. They have high vitality and attack power, and Caphras' followers in particular use long-distance magic. Be always alert to not receive too many hits from those.

It is best to challenge Pila Ku Jail with the intent to never stop moving.

2) Key Locations and Route
If you’re alone, any of the rooms and corridors will work, but if you’re with others, it may be best to take one of the bigger rooms.

The prison is built into a mountain, so you need to enter through one of the two entrances where you’ll be able to park your mount. Additionally, if you enter through the main entrance, make sure to take the quests there.

It is a remote but enticing location thanks to the items that drop in the zone, such as the treasure Map of Unknown Piece.
If you have enough gear and surpass the requirements, you can try to have the main circular room all to yourself, but beware that you may not be the only Adventurer with that same idea!
If you have negative karma, you can use the nearby Muiquun as your temporary hometown for your activities in this monster zone.

Aakman Temple

The Aakman are a tribe that worships the ancient giants of Valencia.
The place where the Aakman gather is simply known as Aakman, and they only stop and rest from their wandering about once per month. The rest of the time they’re walking through the great desert, following and worshipping the ancient giant.
However, it is rumored that a group of them is gathering in secret with the intention of resurrecting the ancient giants…

1) Precautions
Very powerful monsters appear here, like in the Hystria Ruins.
It is important to use all the appropriate food dishes and elixirs to increase your abilities.
Since most of the monsters have very high resistance to debuffs, it is important to add knockdowns, stuns, etc. at the right time when dealing with them.

2) Key Locations and Route
Since the monster zone itself is a downward spiral, it is easy to be efficient.

When you interact with one of those devices in the desert, you’ll be transported to either Aakman Temple or Hystria Ruins. Make sure to pay attention to the color of this portal, as there are two different portals with different colors. No yellow aura leads to Aakman Temple.

1) Precautions
The only Lv. 64-65 monsters that appear in the territory of Valencia.
There is no mercy to receive from their attacks, and their resistance values are high, so they virtually do not suffer from any debuff applied to them.

In addition to that, since their attacks are both ranged and melee, they’re quite difficult to avoid, and the long-distance attacks have an attack speed/movement speed reduction effect, so they’re quite dangerous.

2) Key Locations and Route
Always be on your guard, as no matter where you are, a monster may appear to ambush you.
