I appreciate the solidarity.

Yes, if only all players actually listened to the music and sounds, I'm sure far more people would be crying foul for this move they enacted 1 year, 1 month and 17 days ago.

I finally did the Magnus quest, which I did enjoy.  What was not enjoyable was going to O'dyllita and hear the wrong songs playing at Delmira Plantation.  Every song in that region fit the mood and context of the place and situation.... it was one of the best in-game experiences I ever had.

Now, I'm afraid to go O'dyllita, not because I fear the dangers there, but because of the war PA has waged on my ears, and my soul.

Why, PA?

I bought this game, bought Pearls, gave good reviews, tried to get others to share my joy........

Now all I can do is wonder why I am the object of pain and hatred with each update that you inflict that changes the game I love so much into something no longer lovable......

Here's hoping that the Land of Morning Light has musical stablity, that each track was made with love and care to fit perfectly the area and situation that it was written for.

Because the rest of the world of Black Desert brings pain and little joy.

The music at the Ancient Stone Chamber is so out of place with that drum track they added.... it hurt 4 months ago when  I first heard it, and it's still painful now.

Man, they really did a good job making great music in this game very unpleasant when it's playing in the wrong places at the wrong times.  Which is half the time.

Please, PA, please, fix the music.

Just saw a teaser vid for Land of Morning Light.  It looks amazing: hopefully the gameplay is too.  The music was awesome and fit the area........

Hopefully all the tracks suit the areas and situations.

Please, PA, make the music sound good, and make it be pertinent!

I don't want to be doing a quest that has a non war-like theme, with war-like music banging in the background.  (like at King Guy Seric's tomb in the Nova questiline with Saunil Battlefield music playing because.......... it's in a forest in the Calpheon region so any old Calpehopn region track will do?)

Anyway, my pain at the music is just as acute as it was when this was first inflicted on us.  Please, offer us a fix to this.  Again, I shouldn't hear oasis music while grinding in the desert.  I shouldn't hear Balanos island style music on the streets of Heidel.  I shouldn't hear epic theme music when gardening in a Balenos forest.  I shouldn't hear haunting, dark mood music in Polly's forest where bumbling mushrooms frolick.  And why do I hear the tune so fitting for Polly Forest playing at the Manshuams, who are a bit more serious and a lot more dangerous?  The list goes on.  Also, the music at Atanis Pond is no longer enjoyable, as the singer's music blends with the area music.  The music has been in need of a serious reboot since April 13, 2022.  It needs to be set back to what it was.

The community may no longer care.  The devs may not care.

I do.

Peace.

So, I went there yesterday (14 days ago, after this edit) and heard some enchanting music on the Gowun Plateau.  It really fit the mood and captured the vibe of the place perfectly.  I went back today and heard a track very different and it ruined the mood for me.  Thanks for making the game such lesser experience, PA. Thanks for taking the lazy approach of having tracks play at random instead of meticulously matching songs to areas to make them all the more vibrant, immersive and enjoyable.  You really know how to hurt a guy.

The music implementation in this game is broke.

Please fix.

The fun one I ran into the other day: was riding through the desert, and suddenly the ghost ship music started playing.  On reflex I looked around for the ship, then stopped and said to myself "wait a minute, this is the desert...". Really disorienting.

So I've been very busy with life, and I still am, but I felt I needed to post a little bit about the LotML soundtrack before too long even though I haven't explored everywhere there.

In general it is good that the music sticks to each other via a common theme. It isn't as jumbled as Mediah or Valencia, and I've not heard anything like a main menu theme, but because of this nothing is distinctive from other tracks. Yes, it is new and distinctive from the rest of the game, just not anything in LotML.

One thing to praise: I heard three tracks in Bari Forest and each one promoted the sense of creepyness or uncertainty of the location. It reminds me of how Thornwood Forest used to be before a main menu song decided to break it. It's on theme and its good even though they are three different tracks, I can still mark the place as distinctive.

One thing that is disapointing: Both Nampo's Moodle Village and Dalbeol Village play the same set of tracks. They are unique from the rest of the region, that's good, but there is no way to tell the two settlements apart. Most settlements in the rest of the game, before the most recent music 'rework' had distinctive tracks (except a few I think in Valencia), that was a good thing. Musically, Nampo's Moodle Village and Dalbeol Village blend together.

So I think LotML is better musically than the rest of the game post 'rework.' Perhaps some care could go into crafting music and making new tracks for the rest of the game, or just reverting to before the 'rework'?

In about a year, it will be time for another "rework".  It will be high time to restore the glorious music to it's former glory.  Maybe I can wait that long....................

Please, PA, don't count on it.

Fix the music now, please.  And in case you don't know what we're talking about..... the music is very well written, but it's horribly applied.

Fix it now, please.  My brain hates my ears for hearing it.

And I will not stop fighting for this cause.

The whole thread and the start post included are covering pretty much the whole problem. But apparently the official stance is "there is no problem". This thread gets constantly ignored by those who could atleast forward the issue to the devs. Even if they would I don't think that the issue gets taken care off. It seems nobody in Korea has a problem with the current state, so I wouldn't hold my breath that this gets fixed anytime soon.

Hi guys i talked with an CM about this issue and this is what i got as an reply.

I have my doubt that they ever sent our feedback to the developers.

Thanks for talking about it with them!

And as my opinion (concerning the objectively inferior implementation of the music) will never change, I will keep this thread alive.

Hope is always found in the deepest darkness.

Peace to all!

It could even be somewhere in this thread, but I don't remember 'the majority of adventurers being annoyed' by the previous music. Plus this thread pointed out straight technical issues, which ought to be treated as bugs, unfinished content, or otherwise broken implementations. We've also advocated for various ways to have both music implementations or increase adventurer freedom by leting them control the music (Marni's Wave was kinda a proto-type of that). Also, this is not the only thread that points out this issue, there have been a few. Maybe there are some in the non-english language forums? I know a video or two on the offical BDO music youtube channel had a comment about it.

And personally, having the same tracks repeat in too many areas is just a bit poor and lazy (Sand Grain Bazzar and LoML's towns/villages), whereas before it was far harder to notice and far less overused (For example now every desert shrine, Rock Post, Shakatu's village, outskirts of Valencia city, and Valencia City, at least play sand grain bazzar's theme).

Hope and memories.
