Hi, all!

I know this game is for PVP, and its gives us the greatest rush, but it would be cool if there was a bounty system for hunting PKers.  (I bet this has been brought up before, but I think it's worth mentioning again.)   Assassination, especially of AFK players, is a jerk move.  Now, if a bounty was automatically assigned to a PKer, (a GOOD one, say, 100 million silver) and they had to perform quests, not just grind monsters, to raise karma, that might be a cool challenge for people wanting to assassinate others.  PVP should be about duels, or arenas, or such.  I could even forgive someone protecting their grind zone, but unfair killings should be punished better.  Again, having a bounty put on your head might make it MORE thrilling for someone wanting to murder people, so I doubt it will change much in terms of how often it happens.  But if a bounty system existed, and cash and titles were awarded to bounty hunters and paladins, hey, it would balance things out; make the game WAY more interesting.  It would also give the bandit city in the desert more meaning, if PKers had to hide out there, if karma was much harder to restore, and crusaders were out to get them.

What is the point considering there is already harsh penalties for negative karma + incoming changes that make it where you can not defend your spot. This would exaggerate the already spot deficiency and increase griefing ( people will not stay around if there isnt away to defend a area that they have been at to get valuable resources or a method to do paper scissors rock for the spot)

We already know PA's direction being anti owpvp and player friendliness for things out of lifeskill.So these red player will vanish just like remainder of the "vetran " community who heavily support the game, when they start realizing arguing over spots has no deterrents for people who decide a area thats occupied is theres. cant pvp, can't declare war and if we get japans ToS, feeding to mobs is a bannable offence.  Basically the suggestion you have made could be added (which read bottom paragraph)but there will be no point in it since people will just grief to trigger a person (usually streamers) so they are forced out of the game. Because they cannot defend themselves with that size bounty.Alot of streamers are disliked just because of the most objectively stupid things.

Btw the system was called "sherif system " but got cancelled because of the backlash from negative karma players and other players who were defending there spots on kr

It would be great to have more meaningfull bounty/fugitive system, but at this point we lost any hope.

Agree! Using owpvp to control owpvp always seemed like a good idea to me.

Still, it has to be done on a wide scale, simply putting a bounty hunting system may lead to some abuses and even kill owpvp itself.

Pk already have some serious drawbacks for the occasional pkers, while the dedicated red players are barely affected. Why would you care about the consequences of being red if you don't have anything valuable to lose? That's the nonsense. The biggest offenders don't get the highest punishment. 

That's why I think jail is better, timer going down only when the character is connected and the jail time depending on the numbers of crimes. 

The system had to be thought as a whole, pk must be tempting but at the same time dangerous, getting killed should come with at least a slight slap on the wrist, and only then the sheriff system could be interesting. But rewards must stay purely cosmetic.

The problem with this is that it's very difficult to figure out how to make it so it's not an exploitable system in an already exploitable system. That's why the sheriff system was removed, there were too many exploits at the end of it. Then you would have to work on balancing both good and bad players so that there's a good reason why you would want to be a red player.

See, there can be a lot of joy in being the bad guy but right now being the bad guy is basically just being bored and killing low level / geared players at the edge of town or feeling entitled to a spot. But this isn't about arguing that DFS is the dumbest concept when people use like 20 buffs, this is about the joy of being a red player which is honestly not a rewarding experience in this game.

There's no benefit to being red other than being an asshole troll. If PA wants to balance it they could do it like in SWTOR where there's a reason to be a sith instead of a jedi. I don't remember if there was PKing in SWTOR since that game is crazy old but let me tell you that the perks were great and balanced AFAIR.

Red should be a different gameplay than blue and have its own perks if they want open world PK. Otherwise it makes no sense, it's like there just to be there and nothing more. It only pushes people away from the game and puts a barrier up for potential players who might be interested in the game but find out that PKing with virtually no concequence or perks is a thing. Just a thought.
