They need to delete the currents and wind at sea and just make the boats faster. Not sure why that system was even put in place. Even if you took out currents and made boats 300% faster bartering STILL wouldn't be viable with the updates to grinding. I miss seeing player boats lined up in Velia, really added to the feel but nowadays you see nothing. 

Carrack quest line needs to be brought back down to earth too. 45 days worth of long painful daily quests? Get the F out of here with that no life crap. The Carrack needs to be 1000% faster to make it even remotely worth it for a normal functioning human.

not sure the boats need to be faster, but the currents and winds are a bit useless i agree. Once you get used to them in grinding spots, you just adapt and repeat same cycle brainlessly. Only the currents really bother me me as the -30 and -50 really slow you down to the point you feel stopped.
while bartering, i noticed that currents/wind have barely an impact so i just go straight line where i need to. Same when traveling margoria. You will maybe gain 30secs to a minute changing your route for sailies. I made several tests and for my ship, it's the same.

Bartering is not viable since players go for silver unless they need something there. And bartering as it is is no fun. before, you could barter and shoot other ships. Now you go from A to B. At beginning people were bartering because of the dreams they sold us for sailing. you have to barter a lot wether you like it or not to get blue gear. now you can get it afk at khan or grinding monsters. But 2020, people had to barter. You can't buy a carrack or it's gear. And bartering is not something you can do fast. At best when ignoring margoria trips, i was needing 1h30 for both resets (without VP for 500m at best). But it took a lot of work before that.
the crafting time it takes for carrack is ok, only the coin grind for gear is painful! 40k for green = approx 5bil (half of khan heart) and takes labour. Same for the 200k fro base blue gear. Imagine needing avg 80clics to reach +10 with appropriate fs. 
Take a look at how much time it takes to build a sailboat or a peridot wagon ;)

what makes those long times not ok is that you can buy them so easily. And the money you make out of them is ridiculously low.

i like having to put some effort into crafting something that cannot be bought by some pleb that has no idea of the effort it took.

The earnings you should get from bartering or smh should be at least similar to valencia spots meaning a solid 300m/h repeatable as long as you want only needing a scroll. Now best players make 300 per load (approx 1h30 including travel from ratt, not talking from velia!). Goes up to 600 with agris. That's decent, still not good as agris lasts for less than 3h.
engaging into a lifeskill or grindspot should net you 200m/h (what a season player can make after 20h in the game), once you start to know your ship and upgrading stuff (after a month), you should go to 500m/h like orcs, and when you get your blue gear you should be able to earn +750m/h allowinf the best sailors to get past a bil like best grinding spots or lifeskill activities.

You need a huge effort to get a high end ship but what you get out of it is ridiculous, and worse: not even really fun to do.

Sailors need to be heard. Your opinion matters and is close to mine but always making everything easier by reducing time is not the solution. Make things worth/fun and reward players! that is the solution.

But for anything to happen, we need to be heard and considered.
We sadly are not. Hope keeps us playing until we quit the game or go to land like most sailors did.

If you want all your issues fixed, make a thread for each as there is no way this will hit 200 to get action, for all items on list. you would need 200 Upvotes for first post, to get all of each 

As if a number of likes would change anything (some posts went into board with 10likes, i still have the screenshot available if you want). The topic lists suggestions and bugs. All bugs deserve fixes.
Some people made lists and went into feedback board.
The point regarding sailing is not to change one thing but a global rework.

Went to fetch the screens i took to show that likes or comments or whatever bullshit does not matter, they will select what makes them look good or is already in the works.

they should also implement a policy for combatting overly toxic forum users that do nothing but grief forum posts and shit talk by either allowing players to block others from commenting on their forum posts or just implementing forum bans for repeat toxic offenders. Probably the main reason forums are avoided is the absurd levels of toxicity, if you dont have anything constructive to contribute dont respond to forum posts.

I totally agree with you, forums are like the game: all about exploits.

The golden rule of forums is: if you don't like the title, don't read (as block or hide option is still not avail)
But i feel my remarks are constructive as they point the problem of the feedback board: why asking for feedback when it is not listened to. And worse... updates go against what the sailing community is asking for. i'm bitter, but i give facts. That's not toxicity, it's the hard truth.
