I think same.. was a big pain to me to get PEN sol artina... this weapong must be exactly like other Dandelion or BS weapons...

Yep, I think it's a 3% chance of enhancing to PEN just like main blackstar. I think that if you're going to require the player to be unique, then at least make it easy to level the weapon. Instead of 3% for PEN it should be 30%. You can't tag it or buy/sell it so you may as well improve the odds significantly. I think it took me 3 attempts to get it to TET which was lucky. I refuse to try for PEN. OP makes a great point with how they can go about it. I'm pretty optimistic now that it's being reviewed by the devs.

I am 100% in favor of the fact that something must be done about Artina Sol. But god save us from PEN Artina Sol -> TET Blackstar. Pen Artina is as hard to get as PEN Blackstar

I got it with 23 attemps, the first 20 attemps raw tap from 150fs to 234fs and then 3 last attemps from 140fs. I create 5 more shai, lvl up to 56 just to get more artina sol to tap. Cost me around 2k memory.

If a class' dandelion isnt able to be adjusted separately, then why not move Shai's Talent: +% to a skill passive?

With all the recent changes, specifically Jetina's Guaranteed PEN Quest, it's not difficult to acquire a PEN Dandelion, so it's not like they would be giving out a free passive that was difficult to get. The only difficulty came from the RNG of enhancing a weapon you cannot acquire otherwise.

saw that a fren posted this last night, 18 fails on a stack that they have built to 324 on this thing. I ended up doing the same thing, built a stack to 349 and then just threw crons at it because I didnt have any stacks left to tet anymore.

Why are Shai throwing PEN Debo accessory stacks at a baseline awakening slot item? I suppose that could be in part because we know Bonnie did the right thing and stopped each stack at 200.. and spent ~120b getting their Sol to PEN. Im now at a level of endgame where enhancing a debo to PEN is something I should be considering, and I can 0% regret wasting that 349 stack on Artina Sol because there is something fucking wrong with that item.

Any other class can get an awaken slot guaranteed PEN from Jetina for what, like 6-7 bil if it is their first weapon item from her? Not to mention that before even that, every other class in the game at least had the option of buying their PEN off the market or weapon exchange couponing to their weapon.

I linked earlier that PA said on Oct 8 2021 that Shai would recieve an alternative to the Jetina PEN route, the video can be found in that black desert foundry page.

Instead we got a new expansion, godr ayed, calpheon elvia, that 3v3 arena thing where people afk if you queue as a shai, 2 new classes, magnus and shai nerfs so far, over a year later

I just finally did magnus yesterday. All of these novel mechanics in all of these little zones that everyone hates and every stage I just said "look at what they did here instead of fixing Artina Sol"

Even accounting for sphagetti code, there is no excuse for Shai not having been given alternate routes to PEN Sol.

Here are some solutions that could have been done in a few hours.

Jetina PEN equivilent: Just make singular quest where Shai hand over all of the materials for all of the Jetina PEN upgrade quests at once, allowing PA to not need to deal with reform levels on Sol. The quest rewards a PEN Sol.

Its clunky, but I and every other Shai who has/tried to PEN their Sol in the last year would love clunky.

Weapon Exchange Coupon Equivilent:

Give Artina a quest to give her a PEN Dandelion weapon and a weapon exchange coupon. The quest reward is a PEN Artina Sol.

It was that easy. Maybe for some reason we wouldnt have our name on our PEN Sol, but that would be better than not having a PEN Sol to our name.

Tagging as a seperate issue is much more difficult, especially because of power creep. Even if we gained the ability to tag our PEN Sol to a C0 PEN Dande.. a C0 PEN Dande is basically nothing these days.. might as well be PEN Tuvala.

But we cant caphras a Sol in its current form, and we dont have a blackstar option

Blondiie makes some good points, IF it solves the tagging problem then PA could move the +Music stats off of the Sol and make them skills(could clean that up by just adding new skill ranks instead of a passive) and give us normal awak slot items. This would actually require a significant rebalancing effort from PA, but at the same time Im not aware of any other way to do it.. 

One concern I have, though.. Shai is not bad at mid/early game and mediocre at end game because we lack caphras or blackstar stats. We are bad at early/mid game due or our AoE design and bad mobility. We are mediocre at endgame because we once had the audacity to become #7 at a couple top spots and PA kicked us back into the ground. So lets say that as a result of some change, Shai gained additional Blackstar Sol stats. 

Would PA allow us to be a good class, or would we then just be paying 120b so that we can ascend to the ranks of mediocrity for a small portion of the game?

But also on that note, would we be paying another 120b? Many Shai including myself already have half of that invested in our Sols due to design neglect. Bonnie has already paid for that entirely, does Bonnie just get the finger?

With the above PEN Solutions, that is a problem that could have been avoided entirely for a minor investment of time.. and how many Shais have quit trying to enhance that thing? Guaranteed PEN was added for a reason, new players are not invested enough in the game to tolerate horrendous rng streaks

But anyways, Im just venting concerns and frustrations, I really do appreciate this being added to the board

100%. I don't play shai but I grind oluns occasionally which would be hell without one, so I can see how much this change would be needed. It's not fair from the get-go that she was excluded from such systems. I mean Archer is unique but he has blackstar, why not shai? XD
