have to agree with that. Spam bots (even the free 7 day ones that keep blocking chat) are easy to just grind to level 60 by leeching them there, and then do 20mins of quests. Hardly a big hurdle, but for new players who keep wondering "why cant i chat with my friend who stands right next to me", this will be a big impact in the friendlyness.

Imo, if you want to help new players, the chat functions should be explained much earlier, aka at level 7 when other UI becomes available as well. We already have some black spirit popup messages on screen that explain some things. Can probably do something similar for chat boxes / chat groups.

This is why I said general chat should still be accessable, as well as whispers, party chat, and guild chat. So this situation would never happen in the first place. I went ahead and edited my post since it seems some readers were missing things I mentioned and were only seeing the "block scammers" portion

No moderating chat, if you dislike what someone is saying just block them, if everybody does it then the person(s) will stop behaving that way, simplying shutting people up completely is not a good way to deal with the situation, it's why the issues are isolated to 1/2 group chat and not the others, and the same people have jumped to other group chat to start drama and they usually get shut down very quickly by everybody who uses those group chat.

Chat ban affects other things, especially group activites such as communicating with randoms around you (asking if someone will be long), sieges, node wars, vells, etc.

This feedback is like cutting a person tougue out because that person is saying things you dislike, think back to school, what happens when someone does things outside of the norm? they become social outcast and they learn to fit in, you don't just cut their tongue or chop their hands off

I edited my post to be clearer after I posted that. But when I bring up an issue I want to give the reason there needs to be a change, why I think so, and what I think is causing it to try and show my point of view, instead of just directly asking for something, as well as giving pro's and cons

I think there's a misunderstanding. What I meant is if you can summarize it as a response to me (not the original post), so I can understand your (edited) suggestion without having to "conclude" what it is through reading what I deem to be a lot of unnecessary text. Which is fine if you disagree with me about, but if you want players to be potentially on board with your ideas, you might want to make an effort to clarify it to them when requested.

So, I will ask again: Can you summarize your suggestion in 3 lines of text or less? (By purely focusing on what you wish to prcatically change in the game)

Ah, I see. 

The main goal from all of this is a quest system early in the game that gives education to all new players on how to navigate the chat system in BDO, use all the shortcut keys, and slash commands. This is my main push. (And for Lunar Halo to be removed as default and instead players CHOOSE their first chat group to join!

Secondary. I would like some way or system that accounts that severely break ToS chat can be quickly reported and held accountable for their actions.

            Greetings my fellow Adventurers, and everyone else, there is something else that's been on my mind that I want to share and suggest an improvement for. As I am sure we have all seen. We have all seen the freaking ads of "let me grind for you for $$" stupid ads in server chats, group chats, and anywhere else these scammers can shove a message infront of our faces, but alright, we're no idiots. But what about our new players, and then there is the toxicity of Lunar Halo in, which is the "new player chat" that everyone is dumped in, why is this the "help" channel when it's filled with degenerates? My main grievance but I also want some addition for education on all the different chats in the game, how to use them, and shortcut hotkeys

       New players (first time character creations on brand new accounts) should have wide spread chats hidden until they vanquish red nose and reach velia! They should be around level 10 at this point, where chat is already locked behind being level 7 or higher only difference here is actually playing the game, remember this is for a first time account, and reaching velia, where they would then get a tutorial/UI tutorial that introduces them to chat groups, how to pick one, then they can join one if they wish, introduce server, general, party, whispers, and other chats. Etc as well as how to change groups and lists all the slash commands to change chats. HOWEVER, new players should still have access to Whisper, Party, Guild, and General chats. So they aren't cut off if a friend is there for their first moments in the game. And if this system is added, the level 7 chat restricion should be removed so their friends can communicate with them from the very start.


      The why: 1. New player protection from scams, yeah common sense, but also why is everyone shoved into 1 group at the start, that is also currently full of pervs and creeps? Why do they not have the freedom to select the group they want to start with. And where is the solution to actually getting rid of these people trying to scame others out of their accounts? I see them every day across server and chat groups, over and over, and it seems nothing is being done about it.
2. For new adventurers there is currently 0 explanation of the chatting system or introduction to any of the communication channels, to the point many players are still ignorant of how to use them, and bringing attention to groups with a tutorial quest will help bring attention to them for each and every player in the game and they can know said groups actually exist and maybe encourage more interaction.
