Yes, please do something to harpooning, it's the opposite of fun in its current state.

Improve the fishing boats would be nicer keeps it a seperate path compared to carracks and a non combative alternative.

Can we attach a fishing boat to the carrack - after all, it's just a bloated boat, the carrack, wtih no functionality; big and empty? It would look nice and we would still be harpooning off it. 

The minigame itself could use some love too, yeah. Clunky, buggy and suffering the consequences of PA's love for random - and completely unnecessary - cooldowns.

that would be really cool, but i doubt they will go through the hassle of programming that. But a detachable boat liek in Sea of Thieves sounds really fun!

This mini game is very easy and 100% success but too long and boring.

If ONLY someone looked at the world's history and realised ship-harpooning was quite the meta to make money till whales became endangered...

Harpooning mini-game is tedious, boring, lack-luster rewards, and looking for invisible hot-spots on a fishing boat isn't fun at all.

I'd rather have them delete the thing / revamp it with carrack ships able to fire harpoons (without any mini-games!) for active fishing content.

Firing harpoons out of the carrack seems like a fun idea!

But players without a carrack shouldnt feel the need to get one just for harpooning, it needs to be accessible from all types of ships without favouring one specific type.

I think the only reason why this hasn't been updated is just the fact that so few players engage with it and so the problem is hidden from the main playerbase. Pretty sure the devs are not even aware that you can't harpoon from all types of ships.
