I just heard a really cool track today in the Forest of Seclusion, which would fit very nicely in the Ancient Stone Chamber, the music of which (because of the new, heavy drum track) would fit nicely battling in Valencia, where you have to listen to the peaceful Oasis theme when battling monsters, or listen to the calming Aakman (not Aakman Temple) theme. Yesterday I heard a great track at the Soldier's Cemetery that should always play there, but sometimes the Kamasylvia Temple song plays there...... while you're chopping up undead.
Whoever is in charge of the music in this game...... should take notes from the person who set it up as it was before April 13, 2022.
Musical chaos can just never be good. If a track doesn't fit the area, I don't care who you are, I'm sure you'd be a little disturbed by the disconnect.
Who at PA thinks that musical mayhem is a good thing? Why are they allowed to torture me?......
Christmas was the last straw for me. Indiscriminate RL music that did not fit the game context, on top of the rest of the mess, just caused me to turn it off entirely.
The game is eerily silent now. There are a few ambient sounds outside of combat - birds, crickets, moving through underbrush, thunder. Roosters at 2am. Church bells. Hoofbeats and water splashing and waves. But much of the time, nothing.
- Why do the birds (and bugs) sound the same in every region?
- Why can't NPC (the scattered musicians in city squares and pubs and other places) and player music volume be controlled separately?
- There are no wind sounds? In the desert or at sea?
So I guess what I'm saying is now that the music is off, I am noticing other sound effect behavior. The NPC / player music control seems to be under the wrong setting.
Yeah, I was mining opals the other day on Mediah coast, and I had the music muted, because...... Mediah's music has nothing to do with Mediah. I guess they think it's a rock'n'roll thumping country, so, yeah, I hate it. I noticed that the seas was abnormally quiet. They should have the sound of waves on the shore, and wind blowing. Wind should definitely be in the desert. So far wind is only heard in storms. At least it's somewhere.
