Blue ship parts' prices are extremely low on cm that no one sellling +10 parts. So, you should enable cron stone enhancement for blue ship parts. At the moment, the enhancement level just drops.

I don't think that will happen since most people who are into sailing will aim for carrack anyways and will get the new blue gear for epheria caravel/galleas which you can craft in Port Epheria. And this new blue gear can't downgrade on fail so no need of crons same goes for carrack green and blue grade gear.

you want to spend silver on upgrading old gear? outdated gear? weak gear?

the new ship components are far better than old parts, and wont drive you insane with enhancing. 

Just make all the tier 4 ship parts crafted in Epheria so they will not downgrade on a failed enhancement.  I can't find the stats on them so I can't say if they are "old" or "weak".  Why are they the same tier if they are so different in stats?  At the very least, we should be able to use cron stones if we want.

They definitely arent weak. It is actually okay gear, the problem is downgrading which doesnt make it worth it.

Lowering the lvl of an item on a failed enchant makes the whole enchant meaningless and is the number one reason why no one is interested in enchanting blue gear for ships, wagons and horses for sell.

There's no reason for this. Epheria gear (base ship) has no purpose after introducing carracks, some three years ago. Gear used to progress an Epheria toward a carrack do not downgrade, you just lose enchantment materials.

Not everyone wants to make a carrack and the blue gear for epheria has really good parameters.

For example, I have an extra epheria with blue +6, set under vell.

Then don't make a carrack. Upgrade the ship to caravel or galleas - the enchantment still doesn't drop on fail and the gear is better. As I said, this gear serves no purpose since three years ago.

prow and sail can be better because they give movement speed and the weight on the regular blue doesn't give any bottleneck but quite frankly not worth the cost

old blue gear are dead content still though
