Dark Knight Skill Bugs

There currently are a few bugs / unfavourable behaviour with skills of the Dark Knight in Mainhand, Succession and Awakening skills. This post is meant to show all of these that are known to us.


Skill bugs:

 

Prime: Enforcement + Flow: Enforcement

 

Bug Description: According to the Skill UI, Prime: Enforcement III has 4 hits, and Flow: Termination has the hits of Enforcement + 1.
When testing this with Grim Reaper Elixir applied (+3 Heal on Hit), it becomes apparent that only 3 hits are applied for enforcement, and 4 for termination. Testing in BA with training dummies on both NA and EU yields the same result (so same hits in PvE)

Absolute: Hidden Strike

 

Bug Description: The skill Absolute: Hidden Strike has a 100% crit rate applied to it. This means, it should crit every time when a target is hit (see above). Currently, this is only applied in PvE. In PvP, the Crit Rate is either not applied at all or lower. No spec eva on the target

Absolute: & Prime: Nocturne

Date of testing: Fri, May 28th

Bug Description: After the balance patch of the 26th of May, the way nocturne behaves has been changed in the following manner:(Equivalent for Absolute: Nocturne)

This Nocturne change has lead to a few likely unintended changes to Nocturnes behavior.

Part 1: The change of camera direction has lead to Nocturne now no longer teleporting the player behind the player in some situations, even when the reticle is red ("locked on target"), which was the requriement to do the targeted teleport behind before this patch. It happens when the reticle is slightly off target in melee range, but still locked on the target. This means that in actual gameplay, more often than not, Nocturne will fail and the player will simply appear back in front of the target locked in animation. The new interaction has an impact on both PvE as well as PvP due to the extended vulnerability and the lack of back attacks/ CC follow up through the teleport.

Part 2: Before this patch, DKs could not exit out of the invisible phase of Nocturne other than by pressing W or S, as indicated on the skill description. However, currently it is possible to directly cast the skills "Smokey Haze" and "Air Strike" (both Absolute and Prime) while still invisible.

Part 3: This has been a bug for a long time already and has not been introduced in this patch, but it is still worth mentioning. When in the invisible state of Nocturne, when having the Ataraxia Kriegsmesser Outfit Piece Equipped, the "glow" of this weapon can still be seen even on low graphics.

Part 4: When in mid range and having the reticle locked on target, then using nocturne, and moving the camera off target (e.g. sideways, upwards or downwards), instead of teleporting behind the target, or reappearing like in Part 1, the skill defaults back to the behaviour that was changed last patch, and the player turns in place, exposing the back to the enemy.

Bon: Seed of Catastrophe

 

Bug Description: Seed of Catastrophe IV applies 7 hits on pve and pvp targets. However, when Core: Seed is chosen, only 5 hits are applied to targets.

Prime: Kamasylvia Slash

 

Bug Description: Prime: Kamasylvia Slash could be cancelled by using Dusk at any point in the animation prior to the balance patch on the 26th. However, after the patch, when using the skill, the player is only able to cancel the windup animation, and can no longer cancel the slash itself. However, when using Dusk during the windup / charge, the slash can also be cancelled with Dusk. The bug only occurs when not dashing during the windup.

New Additions, June 17th:

Bug Description: When dashing twice (or more) to the right and then charging Prime: Kamasylvia Slash, then dashing twice again, the skill will go off as intended in the skill description. However, when doing this to the left, the skill does not activate after the dash.

After some testing, we have found that the direction of the first dashes (before charging) do not matter to activate the bug. However, only after charging kama slash, when dashin twice to the left, the bug appears, while it does not appear when dashing to the right.

Another condition for the bug to appear is that Chain: Dusk needs to be on CD (cooldown is running). When the player waits until the cooldown of Chain: Dusk is over (while holding Kama slash fully charged), after dashin twice to the left, the skill still activates.

It is necessary to dash to the left twice. Dashing only once still activates the skill. It does not matter if Kama Slash is fully charged or only partially charged, the behavior is the same. Additionally, it also does not matter if Dusk (the base version) is currently on cooldown or not. The skill will fail to activate in both cases when dashing to the left.

Bug Description: When Charging Kamasylvia Slash, then dashing more than twice either to the left or the right, the skill will fail to activate. Before the maintenance of May 26th, this would only happen when dashing to the right. It was possible to dash to the left infinitively while holding Kama slash charged, and only release it when Stamina has run out (another restriction was that it was only possible to change directions once, and then dash a maximum of 1 time after the direction change). However, after the maintenance on May 26th, it is no longer possible to activate the skill after dashing more than twice in any direction. This is worded differentely in the patch note:

The wording here suggests that the issue was fixed where the skill woulnd't activate, which suggests that the dashing to the right part was fixed. However, now the skill has the same behaviour to the left as it has had to the right since succession was released.

Dusk & Chain:Dusk with Prime Skills

Bug Description: When dashing twice (or more, Dusk needs to be on CD), and then using a Prime Skill, then dashing twice, and timing it so the first dash is still done while the CD is running, but the second is started when the CD of Dusk is over, the iframe and the cooldown does not activate for dusk on the second dash. This has been confirmed with different players, connections and hardware. It seems that either the skill "Dusk" is failing to activate, or the skill "Chain: Dusk" is being used as priority even when it is on CD.

Unfavourable Behaviour

 

Absolute: Enforcement + Flow: Termination

Description: Currently, Flow: Termination when used with Absolute: Enforcement only applies 2 of its 4 hits at most ranges. To apply all 4 hits, the player needs to be in a specific position not directly close to the target. However, as this is a skill that is used to combo and usually as a second CC , keeping the range is highly unlikely. In a basic combo, the first CC can be applied, then the 2 skills Unveiled Dagger (for 10% attack speed) and Pervasive Darkness (-15 DP) will be used to buff / debuff. However, both skills move you close to the target, and it will not be possible to use termination with 4 hits, unless you dash backwards, and miss time you could use for other damaging skill. Before this hitbox change, enforcement + termination used to be one of the strongest damaging abilities in the mainhand kit even for awakening. However, using it in a combo currently makes you lose damage, and even using Air Strike as a second CC is more damage than Enforcement + Termination.

As the attack is unprotected and too slow to use for a CC, being unable to use it in a combo without losing combo damage means that this skill is basically becoming useless. This is not really a bug with the skill itself, but something that has been changed a few months / weeks ago (the correct time is hard to say as it was only discovered and tested later). However, this is extremely disadvantageous and I wanted to use this opportunity to draw attention to it.

Absolute: Enforcement + Flow: Termination & Prime: Enforcement + Flow: Enforcement

Description: Some of the time, when using the Skills Enforcement & Flow: Termination on Dark Knight, the air attack that is supposed to apply on Flow: Termination if the Float CC is applied does not work. Even though you can see more Crits apply while the target is in the air (which qualifies them for air attack and confirms that hits apply in the airborne phase), Air Attack only procs sometimes. This was tested on BA dummies (no Special Attack Evasion).
It is not clear if this is due to hitboxes, due to the missing hits of Termination, or an actual bug. It is still something that we noticed and wanted to spread awareness of.

Prime: Twilight Dash

Description: When dashing through a target at close range, only 1 hit of the skill is applied as different to the awakening version, no hit stagger is applied. That means when using this skill in a combo, same as above for Absolute: Enforcement, the damage is very low / non existent as you end up close to the target during the combo. This leads to this skill not being useable during a combo, even thought the use of Prime: Enforcement + Termination + Prime: Twilight for the air attack used to be extremely high damage. Now, it does very little damage and other options are better. Same as above, this is not a bug, but behaviour that has been different in the past, and is weird to use now.

Hopefully we can get something to acknowledge these, I've experienced a few of these in just casual duels with friends. Prime: Kama slash > dusk to the left is super frustrating lmao. Upvoted for publicity, thanks for bringing it up Minarya o/
