Hi, as you could read from the title of this thread, I would like to ask if anyone knows how to stop Black Desert from changing my monitor refresh rate everytime I start the game. I am using a custom refresh rate that I made in nvidia control panel, because for some reason the monitor that's supposed to have 144 hz doesn't show the option unless I make one. That being said, when I start BD, it changes back to the native resolution which is 60 hz. Is there any way how I could stop this?

What monitor? Which resultion? how is it connected?

Monitor: Dell S2419HGF
1920x1080
With HDMI cable
With HDMI cable
HDMI is good for Video (eg. TV-Bluerayplayer connection) but not for gaming.
Get yourself a Display Port cable and your problems should be gone.

Welp I bought a Display Port cable and it was a complete dogshit experience and I am gonna refund it right away. It made my monitor look a lot worse and it didn't even help with the refresh rate changing.

Your monitor has 2 HDMI slots and 1 DP.
The 2 HDMI slots HDMI 1.4 slot, wich only supports up to 120 Hz at 1920x1080!
The Diplay Port slot is a Diplay Port 1.2 slot, wich can handle up to up to 240 Hz at 1920x1080!
To but as far as i can see in the user guides of your monitor, you need to overclock it (can be done via the OSD) to enable the 144 Hz support.
BTW: your graphic card also needs a HDMI 1.4 slot or higher to support 120 Hz.
If your graphic card only has a HDMI 1.3 slot (or lower) you can't get more than 60 Hz.
i have turned off vsync in nvia control panel, set bdo to launch in fullscreen mode and disabled every optimization option but my frame rate is always capped at 60fps. Please help me, thank you.
Which monitor? Which graphic card? Which connection (between graphic card and monitor)? Which resolution?
And remember, if you have a 60 Hz monitor, getting more then 60 fps is useless because your monitor can show them.
I doubt this will be of any use to what could be a dead thread but you need a few things to make 144hz to work.
1. Videocard needs to support it
2. Monitor needs to support it
3. Display Port cable can't be cheap. It needs to be quality made from a reputable brand. just spending $10 on a cable isn't going to cut it. To put it into perspective, my cable cost close to $90. You can get by with cables that are half the price but the features it has may not be compatible with certain online video subscriptions.
4. You need to ensure the configuration on your computer is correctly set up. For example, in both windows display settings and nvidia control panel (or whatever AMD uses).
5. Your monitor needs to be configured to use 144Hz which may be named something with a proprietary name. I don't know what it would be called for your monitor.
Lastly, not all games support every resolution / Hz but BDO does support 144Hz, it just won't be 144fps a lot of the time due to the nature of the game engine / procedual online experience.
If using a quality DP cable is making it look worse, it's possible the port on your monitor or graphics card is broken or either needs a firmware update.
