Cannot accept quest because you are on Mountain of Eternal Winter questline?

Why?
What is this? I took quest to continue to new places, get a new home, new rivers to fish etc etc but i thought tonight, I wish to advance more processing and I get many Opals to just do my processing levlling but I may not becuase I need knowledge to do this opals.
No problem, I find the NPC for questlines for the knowledge, and NO you cann accept this quest because of winter questlines? What the? Why? I now must do the entire line to get knowledge of Opal? I don't understand why this restriction is here. Is Opal knowledge overpowered in the questline? Give a break hey? Anyone know why this is? I think its stupid. Only first complain I have on this game!!

I'm in same situation and idk how to resolve it. I can't do daily and another quest like Merindora right now.... i need assistance -_-

You simply need to finish the eternal winter questline. It warns you that you wont be able to accept most other quests while doing this questline before you first accept it.
If you want to resolve that, finish the questline and you can carry on.
