This is honestly so annoying, the issues with steam and it being down at random are inexcusable. Just let me fix the mistake of creating my account through there :(

The steam reviews clearly state that it's bad and you should create a web account instead. It's your own fault for not reading them.
As for switching steam's terms not allow this as they get money from you being in the steam.

I don't know how SE does it but FF14 allows you to buy licenses for different platforms like PC, Playstation, Mac, Steam and all of them share the same data. It would be nice if a license system like that could exist here as well.

also, I created my account a longer while ago, there were no warnings of this becoming so bad
