Made a video to showcase it b/c it's hard to explain.  Basically, when I log in every day, there's a glitch that I have to work around where I can't talk to NPC's, and they will lock me out of my controls if I attempt to talk to them.

Speaking as a player, which is mostly what you get here, I would submit a trouble ticket and link the video.

My husband blames Windows... for everything, even global warming and malware.  Since you reinstalled, verified files, the only option I see would be looking at drivers and OS.  Are there possible hidden files that are not deleted when you uninstall the game?   I hope someone can help you here, but the people who made this game should be your best hope for a fix.

This is connection problems from you to servers, not trolling, this is exactly what happens to me when my connection fcked up. Your connection speed throttled because of your ISP or technical problem on the line, so its take a time for game actually load initial information to your client, after its loaded game use less traffic so its works even on very bad connection.

Just do tracer to any NA server  by using programs like WinMTR and you'll see where  the problem begins, you also can try to submit ticket and PA might try to hep you,

Maybe!  I'm not going to pretend I understand the issue well enough to deny that.  However, the only thing I would say (that I wish I had mentioned in the video, now that it has come up) is that when I first log in, I can talk to people and use the chat, and I see messages from them.  It's only after I talk to an NPC that my controls lock up.  Because of this, I don't think it's technically a connection issue?  Something about attempting to talk to a storage keeper too soon is what really glitches the game out.  I think it has to do with whatever coding they use for players to access storage/warehouses.

I think that NPC is different server than chat and other's one, by talking to NPC you trying to connect to NPC server and game controls freez while client waiting respond, if you do nothing and game connect to NPC server,  window will  change to dialog with NPC.  You can get back controls by pressing cogwheel on bottom right corner with your mouse (but its not gonna rly help you connect to server). For me its sounds like 100% connection issue, try to submit ticket, because calling your ISP 99% gonna do nothing and PA atleast will explain you how to find problem.  You can try to use VPN to see if this is connection issue, VPN providers usually care about thier connection quality unlike ISP's.

This is literattely connection problem to BDO server, ofc your internet might be perfectly fine to local speedtest server or to youtube or to anywhere else  but for BDO servers its not, simple use of VPN that change routes to server will prove it, but no,  your internet to local speedtest ( biggest scam of any ISP to use local server for speedtest to measure internet speed) or to youtube ( google also use local servers to cache content) is perfect  because its physically  located in you country so that 100% BDO servers fault (its not)

In command prompt type in:

ping google.com -t

To stop this press ctrl + x

This will run the ping program constantly. If there's no immediate issue displayed, run BDO on the side and keep an eye on the ping. See if you're getting any dropped packet. Alternatively you could always ping BDO's game servers as well if they allow it.

Sometimes you can have excellent connection but something at the pole is slightly disconnected causing internet issues. Normally you won't notice this because a lot of things stream and websites won't break since they'll just wait for the packet to be successfully recieved but in online games you'll start noticing the effect a lot more like in your video.

If there's no issue with ping then we can move on and figure things out from there. Might even be the BDO servers since they have been slow this past week, probably because of the event.

This issue has been in the game for a very long time. Probably forever tbh its just not been very common. Now since I started playing on 4G internet this issue is just daily life and it rly sucks. Just adding my +1 that its a connecton-related issue.
