Alright. Let's start with saying that we all accept that BDO is a game designed with philosophy of "We'll design problem and sell you solution" and while in many cases this is frustrating, as players we understand that the company needs to make money, and gamesl lika Black Desert, WoW or FFXIV need continous revenue stream to continue development and upkeep.

It is also important that as developers, each time a system is implemented there must be a balance between the system being fun enough for players to engage which, and give players options to engage with said systems even if they are not willing to spend money. This can be done through a workaround way but it must be kept within reasonable timeframes which makes players who want to engage with those systems without paying still feel like the time spent is of value, while players who have spendable income may decide that they rather just skip part of the process to speed their progression.

This methodology used to apply to all systems in black desert such as:
Players could buy storage or earn storage through CP
Players could buy cron stones from market or work on 2nd piece of gear to not risk losing their main gear.
Players could buy tent to repair gear or go to town usually located ~3m away

Players could stack trash loot on horse or buy storage maids.

Unfortunately, this methodogy does not apply to the fairies as due to the game's economy, the only way to reliably get fairy with good skills is to spend Theiah Orbs. (we'll get to them later). Ever since fairies came out, there was always shortage of Sweet Honey Wine on the market, the situation has changed in last month due to loyalty event but quickly turned around due to fairy update.

This means that players who do not want to engage with the Theiah Orb have no realistic way to engage with fairy system as there's not enough honey actually going around in the game world (This has changed in recent months but now we're back to where we started... then again, maybe that was the intention). Even if player was to save up 10 billion to roll fairy 20 times at cap market price, most likely they will need to way 1 week - 2 months to be able to roll their fairy due to lack of supply of Top Quality Honey/Sweet Honey Wine on market.

Lack of supply is further exacerbated by the fact that on average player will only get around 50 sweet honey wine per hour when actively hunting and processing the bee hives. This makes a low profit enough task that majority of players do not engage with the system.

Solution:
This could be fixed by allowing players to farm honey amongst other things, sadly, as it is the system is not fun as it's very frustrating to not be able to engage with it despite having in game money prepared and be willing to risk it.


Now let's talk abot Theiah Orbs. Theiah orbs are the 2nd RNG system that's supported by the cash shop, first one being the pet system. One of them gives player ability to stack their chances up to 100% to get certain enchant. Other system is purely RNG with no backsafe for the players who always risk making their fairy worse than it previously was.

It is very sad and predatory to have players spend more and more money as they level up their fairy, while not providing them with guarantee to at least not make their fairy worse than it already is.


Solution:
When player rolls skill using theiah orb, ask them whether they accept new skill or whether they'd like to keep the old one.


Regardless of whether you're free to play person agreeing with topic, or paying trying to stand out. Let's keep it civilized and remember that it's a game and it's supposed to be fun for everyone.

You can make it more fun by using the convinience store.

This is a F2P game deal with it.

I agree on the orbs, they are designed in an absolute p2w fashion since you kinda want that potion skill on max lvl if you ever intend to PvP in this game. Getting healed constantly in PvP is straightup PAY 2 WIN period.

And the amounts of cash you have to spend with the increasing orb amounts are absolutely outrageous. I was somewhat lucky and got lvl 5 potion (first) skill upon like attempt 3 and was okay with second-to-max lvl for the other 2 skills I wanted (feathery steps and res). But yet I spend ~60 EUR on my fairy. If i come to think of it, this accounts i. e. 10% of the cost of a gaming monitor. Ridiculous. 

Also it will get worse now to get a max lvl potion fairy since more other skills are cluttered in to lower your RNG chance. TBH i would not want to go through that process now with the "fairy upgrade".

So I also agree: this is not quite an "upgrade" for the players but an upgrade on the monetarization of the game.

Growing the fairy with honey is time-consuming but possible. I did it f2p only with kinda slacking effort over a year, somewhat regular fishing. I think that is still okay, especially since you get a second-to-max Tier fairy from quests nowadays. Of course I would always go on spending sealed fairy wings for a max tier but my RNG at least did not give me a single one of those so I had to grow mine and then evolve it. The event helped was necessary to make it happen of course but I think such events re-occur every year or so. To me it was borderline but tolerable given this is a f2p game. 

What also bothers me is that a lot of these areas of play - i. e. also the courser system - are designed as newbie traps. If you are not a seasoned mmorpg veteran and "smell" the pitfalls, constantly consult guides you WILL spend money for literally nothing in return in this game. This must be very frustrating for some of the newer players which we actually want to stick with this game. 

Uh... it's £8.99 on steam so it's not F2P game and why would you "deal with it". They offer service, you're customer, you're literally the person who can force developers to make a difference by:
a) not giving them money
b)complaining and saying that you're not happy with service they provide.

It's just a game with a cheap entry fee. As for fairy, it is implemented in a poorly way that's not fun... quite the opposite, it's literally made to be frustrating as you're limited both in terms of ability to roll it, and the fact you're risking your good skills on every roll, and with each rolls costing up to £7.99 per roll on 4 skill fairy, it's just toxic.

Being able to keep your previous skill should be a borderline minimum if you're using theiah orbs, even gatcha games always have sort of backup/pity system so that eventually you'll get what you want.

You can reset your fairy to lev0 every time you want to. You can level her up by feeding her trash weapons

Alright, how do you reset your fairy to level 0? Queen's orb for 1000 pearls? Cool. That still doesn't address the problem that it's full RNG with no pity and a failsafe system and endless money pit.

I'd love to be able to have a spot for a second fairy, even if I can only use one at a time...

i think they are doing something about making the reroll items available in game when autobuff is added, so heres to hope that it's not a one time thing and it's a real daily/weekly.

do feel the reset should be free though- would be enough imo since you can relevel the fairy easily by basically throwing silver at it
