RBF kill assignment. (affect more than just my class)

Whoever did the most damage in the last 3 seconds gets the kill. Not a last Shot.

 

Why would it be this way? Makes sense.

-If you put in all the work, you get the kill.

-If you put in all the work, and the enemy escapes, and then someone else chases them down, the chaser is likely to have put in the most damage in the last 3 seconds, so get the kill.

 

 

What have I see today?

I can put in all the damage, even in 3v1 (just now may you where there too?) and then the enemy run away to die to my team mates. Not away from the fight but to die to anything but a shai :P

I’m not a common shai, but there are AP shai (ones with more gear then me) and they put in a lot of the work regarding damage.

But due to RBF mechanics and shai’s chipping damage Vs Aggressive pvp Burst damage, any shai with gear below end game will struggles to claim a kill they full worked for… this is not fair and this is not just shai. But I am shai and I speak from what I know and what other shai tell me.

(NOTE; we aren’t talking about you end game geared that don’t notice the mechanic handing your kills away. I hang with many different shai, not endgame shai in most cases)

This mean AP shai (and other classes built to do lesser damage over a longer fights… High evasion Mystics, DP valks?) are unfairly disadvantaged in RBF when it comes to calming kills. Unfaily because, even with their lesser damage, they may have outplay the opponents done 90% of the damage, then have the kill taken.

This currently promotea glass cannon blasting over actual skill and fun game play in RBF. As all that counts in RBF are kill at this point (see other thread relating to RBF rewards – “Increase Monetary Reward for Red Battle Field (RBF))

This 3 second rule is fair for all pvpers in RBF, not just me. And may even change the meta of RBF away from high burst class cannons that are only there to put in the last shot before they die themselves.

And would help reduce possible exportation of new system explained in rewards thread. As you have to be active and dealing the damage to claim the kill, not a one shot.

 

Would be interested to know why/if someone would disagree with this suggestion? Maybe you have a point.

 

Some counter points;

-People may back off if they seen you have put the most damage in already

People currently tag targets with low damage skill, wait until another player puts in the damage and then they try to last shot. So, the issues is already there, just it changes to a more fair outcome.

 

-High damage classes will get all the kills.

They do already, nothing changes there, apart from, if you sit back to let another’s deal the high damage, and wait nice snipe kills… you will no longer be able to cheese a kill.

(you would think i would wanna snipe kills as a none end game AP shai? never assume, im not your 'normal' thinker. A kill for me is a marathon with the hope not one takes it away from me at the lat 5-10%, planned or unplanned it not good design by PA!)

 

Experience reference:

As a low damage class (with many hours in RBF using many specs, AP DR eva, Hybrids – see my vids :P), when the mechanics where changed, I went from 7-11 kills (640gs) a match to 0-4 average (710gs), purely down to the mechanics. Was this PAs plans, to hand over shai /lower damag build's kills, by skilled player to, high gear and class advantages?

These new mechanics where put in place to add survivability and make the match more ‘fun’ for ‘all’. I counter that with, it disadvantaged lower gear, lower damage classes, played by players of higher skill. Shai, and none shai.

My suggestion takes nothing away from the addition PA mage to RBF survivability, but does add a fairer system of kill assignment.

At the moment class and gear doesn’t just help you claim a kill, it’s the deciding factor, rather than skill.

E.g. a player can outplay an opponent, get them down to 10%, and the someone on the side one shots, with their most powerful skill (that they have been saving up for the last shot) with the full intention to steal a kill. This is Toxic and I know PA do not value PvP (maybe I’m wrong?) but we should still try to improve the game in all areas. PvP is watch

PvP is watch by more than play it, it attracts players to the game. Current idea that pve is a far greater priority due to numbers alone is a mistake of analysis and damaging to the games longevity.

This currently has the effect of some matches where not one engages first due to the risk they will put in all the work and get no kill. So everyone start sitting back, waiting for damage to be delta and last shots taken. This is the current RBF Meta and is poor PA.

If you get a kill... should not be RNG and class depended, but skill! Fair?

Noone of RBF's about KDA, funny part is that FOTM rollers doesn't even get high in RBF ranks as they switch every FOTM.

PA must remove kills display and put real goals for Valencia, just like castle have real goal - amount of point, same must be displayed for Valencia - amount of point player gained to team, kills gave nothing.

Also very important part that Assist gets hidden often. By displaying assits you expose kill stealing rats who sacrifice its team for kills, as they dont have any assist usually.  That why "chad" players don't want it to be displayed.

i wish they would do something and it’s not like they can’t, but to add anything over one-shot would cost more memory and processing, so stronger servers.

still gotta say how it is when we can, else we will be told we never said anything at all :P

when there are enough valid reasons /sugestion, they may open up a dev window again, like they did for valancia, but nothing will change in small steps for such an old part of the game :(
