Hello again everyone. 

Today we are going to look at a few things concerning Seasons, mainly the PVP aspects of being a season character. 

What Season is:

Season is a fast track to midgame for new players. A great starting point for anyone who is beginning their BDO journey, or someone who is beginning their combat phase. Seasons are an opportunity to grow into learning things about the world of Black Desert, it throws you into quests and world items that teach you about the core mechanics and systems. Seasons are used as an educational tool for some of the more complicated aspects of BDO, like enhancing. However, enhancing is not inherently easy- so seasons has a special type of gear called the "Tuvala" gear. Tuvala gear is easier to enhance to PEN (max) level than all the other gear in the game. 

Furthermore, this kind of fast-tracking and easier enhancing given to seasons grants new players a foot in the door for a decent start to silver/hour of grind time. Players who max out their entire Tuvala set will find it easy to try new content in the game and enjoy more adventures. This leads us to one kind of new activity that max Tuvala players can experience: Arsha Seasons Servers. On arsha seasons servers new players are given the opportunity to PVP for the first time. On these PVP enabled servers you get you first taste of player on player action as seemingly new adventurers can go toe to toe with the same max level of Tuvala gear. Arsha season server is some of the best PVP that BDO has to offer because everyone has the same gear. PVP'ing on these servers where the playing field is even is nice... but is it really even? This leads us to the following... >

What the problems are:

PVP in the seasons arena is amazing, you don't have the problem that most of the open world PVP has of drastically imbalanced gear. But sometimes it's not true... Veteran players can be found on these season servers. Vets are usually more educated and wise about the limitations of the tuvala gear, so they use specialized crystal sets, artifacts sets, and light-stone sets to give them an advantage. And herein lies the biggest problem of playing in the arsha season server. Crystals, Artifacts, and light-stones. You can get a set of crystals, a set of artifacts, and a set of light-stones that give you a gigantic advantage over other players. The cost of them is a staggering 35 billion silver. Despite everyone having a max tuvala gear scenario- you can gain what feels like another 75 AP and 75 DP over your opponents.

This advantage is not something that only a veteran player can wield, but the cost of this advantage is something that a newer player cannot afford. New players who are on season servers with tuvala gear should not be expected to shell out 35 billion silver worth of crystals, artifacts and light-stones just so they can PVP against everyone including the vets. Also, new players usually don't have any idea how useful these things are, and seldom have a working knowledge of them. 

What is the solution?:

Developers have gone out of their way to make it so that season characters cannot use any other gear than the tuvala gear and other seasons types. When attempting to equip anything that is forbidden, you are blocked by an exclusivity lock out. I think it's time that PA make exclusive season crystals, season artifacts, and season light-stones so this kind of imbalance of general use in this area is equal across the board. If this idea where to be implemented, the seasons server would also now cover teaching about these systems by providing a quick tutorial on them and provide slot-able items for new players to utilize in combat. Place a lock out of all other items so seasons is fair and equitable for all players on this level.

I agree and disagree at the same time.  It's not just those items,  Adding the Journals to a character is more powerful than just the lightstones and crystals.  Having all the journals done or having 35b worth of crystals i'll take the journals any day.  Add the Juices to get to 30,30,30 health strength and stamina and you have other gaps. 

Seasons is a failed concept because it has all those added stats not just the ones you listed.

What is more powerful however is the guy with 7 years playing the class fighting someone who's been playing the game for 3 months.  In Tuvala skill can out perform any crystal, light stone, artifact, and journals that are currently in the game, and it's not even close.

Overall there should'nt be pressure on new players to purchase high end crystals and lightstones. The concern to maximize those areas in the game should come well after graduation from seasons. 

Also, its not just about new players fighting vets in season arsha. I was only using that as an example because vets beating down newbies is absurd. Human damage crystals and lightstones should not be available to seasons at all- only monster ap types. 

None of the normal game high silver purchases should be a factor in season success. They need to follow the design down to the ground with what season characters can and cannot do.

personally, i would just introduce only 1 item each for pve/pvp/lifeskill, cuz we already have enough itembloat, 3 season only that disappear after grad seems manageable to me.

personally, i would just introduce only 1 item each for pve/pvp/lifeskill, cuz we already have enough itembloat, 3 season only that disappear after grad seems manageable to me.

Just add the necessary crystal effects to the seasonal artifacts and lightstones and make it so that seasonal characters cannot apply crystals.

Also they need to add a Life tool bag that only a seasonal character can use.

this is the reason why the season pvp server is generally dead save for veterans
