Hey,

i was thinking about starting with BDO again, i didn't want to stard on my old charracters again so i thought "hey lets try a new class get a feel for the game again.."
untill i saw most of the Interesting classes are locked into beeing Females, wich just killed my entire mood of Starting a new journey in this game...
I wonder how manny people share this feeling...

and also if the Devs will let us choose what we want to be... one day...
Maybe if this gets enough upvotes?

It's not "killing" the game it's certainly not "helping" it either. 

They're doing the bare minimum to maximise there P&L in development, they clearly have data that supports the idea that Female classes bring in the Pearl sales.

Next time you or someone you know buys costumes to melt or list buy them on a male character, vote with your wallet.

I personally think genderlock is also meh at some point

but this game went too far that it cannot be changed. people just gotta admit that.

I hate to say leave if you dont like or such lame words, but yeah... removing gender lock for existing classes are impossible right now so its either take it or leave one of the other.

none company can handle this issue after 9 years unless they put huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge effort on it and its not worth for them

Also, its not gender lock killing the game, this game is losing identity while trying to follow mmo trend for thesedays(pve). But i dont know... this game pve is def ok cuz combat system is nice but there are too much bugs to handle raid or instance dungeons/mechanics. Which means they have to fix their game engines in order to swap game to pve forwarded game, but this is also...

It's not 'killing it' per se. But it's not helping it either. Overall the game's decline has to do with poor managment. Gender lock does play a factor for sure, but could be overlooked had the game been better. FOTM is one of the main factors that's 'killing' the game. Along with other countless factors (of which there are MANY despite what others try to tell you). Bugs that have yet to be fixed, unstable server, quick cheap cashgrabs (that's where FOTM plays a signifigant part), dated concept of grinding, poor handling of PvP, and so on. Of course you'll hear people say, "this game is fine! It's never been better!" Denial is a powerful thing, is it not? People said the same thing about the Titanic, if I recall. "This ship is unsinkable!" Well you can see how that turned out. This 'Flagship MMORPG' is sinking, so either jump on a lifeboat (leave) or go down with the ship.

Me? I'll probably choose the latter as there aren't that many other games out there right now. Played WoW, GW2, ESO, FF14, Lost Ark, SWTOR, and Blade and Soul. Don't enjoy them as much as this game (which doesn't say much I'm afraid). I'll just enjoy the ride while I can. I'm enjoying my Tamer right now. Still in the process of getting her to 62, lol. When I'm not grinding, I'm leveling horses or fishing/sailing. Guess what I'm trying to say is; find something on the game you enjoy doing. Be it lifeskilling or whatever. If you cannot, then I guess move on to a different game. Games are meant to be enjoyed afterall. Whatever you decide, safe travels. Happy gaming! =)

I know this is not what you want to read but this has been discussed over a 1,000 times and it hasn't changed the developers's mind and direction. The 30 year old population of male Korean players like looking at virtual titties and female avatar asses more than real so in order to get their fix they play BDO. If you want class and race diversity BDO as a male you will not find it in this game. 

They do have some mirrored classes in the game but I don't know where they going or what they going to do, man. 

I personally don't think adding more male classes and races in BDO would hurt anything ( Probably would help them at this point).

I am just bored seeing this game with like hundreds of female classes in the character selection screen.. it´s clearly the sign, that something very wrong is ongoing in this game.. if it has nothing else in good quality to offer, than sex sells and the beautiful game graphics.. the rest is rather empty and monotonous after a few days.. i rather have it terrible quality but huge in content.. sometimes also less is better than more.. and less female classes would not hurt the game..

the gender lock is by far the worst thing in this mmo. kills so many categories of players and in this case im one of those. love the game hate the devs, i personally think they dont give a f$%k about the game and only think of ways to make money which sucks cause so many show that it can be terrific. it definitely hurts the game, does not help and most definitely hurts it ALOT. Only people that are saying it doesnt are playing females.

I am a male player and aint changing anytime soon and neither are these devs so people like us can play other games without these problems, we just dont get the cool combat animations of BDO nor the graphics of better mmos. Actually BDO is better in many ways but this is a killer, literally the main reason i play and quit all the time is cause im tired of logging into hash and warrior all the time cause those are the only males with cool weapons imo. But my other half gets 3 times the choices because of high heels. its a total fail on the devs for this. people that want customization (like most people) want the biggest part of customization - their gameplay which equals class. It should have been base game and people have been leaving since launch for this very issue. 

Anyone thinking gender lock does not harm this game is obviously oblivious or a white knight to the game in which is not a bad thing but it dilludes their vision to the problems others have had about the game that have made them quit and or come back time and time again. The game will continue to shrink until the fem whales ride out to the sunset and find AoC or Throne n Liberty or whatever game brings the next gen features of an action combat mmo to the table. Or not and the white knights post the games 150% fine and even better than it was before it even launched lol. crazy thoughts

I wouldnt say it's killing the game, but liek most MMO's, when you make a class, you chose which gender you want. I still do not understand why Pearl Abyss has not followed the same patern. In the Class choice screen, there shoudl be a Male of Female to chose from then go into the Customization.

There are plenty of people just like you and me that are just completely turned off by the gender locking. The fact that they just keep releasing female classes just made it worse. I got this game free from Twitch prime and won't bother installing it.
