Hi peoples.

I am Fishing Master 30 and I made it my goal I will hit Guru this evening.

I want to do it quick as I can and it will be my first time ever hitting 1 Guru on any life skills. Where should I take my pony and fishing rod, which fishing rod too? I know I could park up on Velia Beach and Idle it for a few hours but for this milestone I wish to be active.

Can you help me? 

edit: You said "quick". By the time you read this, you could be done already just fishing as usual :)

For something "memorable", do the [Life] [Leap] Fishing Guru quests under Suggested,  and [Life] {Leap] Honor to the Fishing Family quests.  You'll be well beyond Guru by the time you finish those, but there is some challenge to some of them.

If you just want somewhat reliable levelling, get a boat and do some hotspot fishing.  "Somewhat", because while you get all yellow fish, you still have to search a bit for the active hotspots.

Location, location, location: Go into Elvia realm, then go into Crypt of Resting Thoughts, find a pool of water :)  If you still want to trade them, you'll have to go to Glish (or Keplan) to find a storage NPC to hold them while you switch back to normal world.  I think...

The Duvencrune fishing spot for plump coelecanths will also get you good trading exp if you trade the regular fish you catch there to Valencia.  And now you can take the Magnus for that trip.

Have you gotten your miraculous fish tank yet?  Not for levelling, but to complete your fishing 'tools'.

And once you have that, do some fishing in Eilton where the fish normally last three days, which makes them last 15 days in the tank.  Just to say you did.

Ferries: ride one of the ferry boats and fish while you travel.  Again, just because.  The ferry from Oquilla's Eye to Nampo (or vice versa) offers good ocean fishing.  Slow boats to get anywhere, but you're there to fish, not arrive.

Not all of these are very good ideas, but you get the drift.

I love the idea of doing the Life Leap quests - very apt for my first ever Guru, thank you for this idea! 

What is Elvia fishing? I'm aware of what Elvia is but I can only just about handle the Biraghi Elvia mobs aha...

In Elvia, there are only mobs in the designated Serendia and Calpheon areas.  The rest of the world is empty. You can visit otherwise dangerous areas without risk.  You also can't interact with things, and NPCs have been removed, but you can still fish.  Unless that was nerfed at some point...
