As revealed in the dev commentary video on Mar 28 (Thu), we're planning to consolidate individual character's life skill levels into a single Family based level during maintenance on Apr 24, 2024 (Wed). 

so i am wondering if you have more then one Character with the same life skill will they be added or only take the highest one

I know this is a lost cause, but I like my separately deveoped characters, and I like levelling up the skills at the lower levels, it feels good to see them go up so fast.  But after the change - you will only get to experience that once.  All gone...

So they told us how it would be implemeted? Or is this like seeds day after cry thread of imagining worst way it could be implemented then feeling betrayed about it. The way I heard it again in that devs note thing sure sounded like individual fame will stay and just add all them up to a family total. Didn't say life fame would be changed at all and of course it would have to if they weren't keeping the old system but maybe you saw more somewhere else? I read the transfer coupons but they would be useless either way.

Even if you odd ones who think your life fame total is impressive it's not. Like 30 guru 1 cooks is what 4500 life fame and less total exp than one guru 50 cook who gets like 260 life fame so that whole system was a joke.

I do till think we will keep individual exp and any chars exp will lvl family total as well hopefully but maybe you saw something I haven't yet that showed exactly what will happen.

If PA devalues and removes your favorite content in BDO, you probably would also feel betrayed.

We recieved zero information, for how it will be implemented. Why should I have faith in PA,to not screw over a small percentage of the playerbase, since everyone else seems to be totaly happy about to simply combine all the exp and remove individual levels...

It's not only about lifeskill fame, its also about guild lifeskill points.

There are mainly 3 types of lifeskillers: you either go for silver, for lifeskill levels, or level all your lifeskill characters for life fame and guild lifeskill points.

If you simply combine all levels, you basicly remove guild lifeskill points.

See that's the point. Wait till they show how it would be implemeted before imagining the sky is falling scenario. Like they got that life fame system where you get to 901 for bonus money and that would be a lot harder for a new person to get to if they do it in your worst case imagining possibility. 

You get even in this worst case scenario there are alot of benifits.

One lvl 49 now can fish in combat areas,sail and barter unmolested by pirates, afk horse train even gather and never get killed while contributing to the family level.

All our alts now have auto sprint and breezy sail.

Can park a char at farms cuz now all are alts are master for the special fences instead of needing to farm on main. And prob other advantage I can think of atm

So ya either way idgaf and I got 3600 life fame way less than before cause in case PA does screw everyone over I snagged a bunch sailing and gathering transfer coupons and sent that exp to my main as a hedge in case.

i know there going to be unhappy people but hope they do not mess it up and make me feel like what they did to bartering and sailing if they take all my work i done in life skill and turn it into a wast of time may not be any reason to keep playing the game

@JR88 - Yeah, you're right, need to wait and see, best would be if we got some notice, or even a discussion.  But I feel burned by a lot of recent changes, rightly or wrongly, so the paranoia runs high, and feels like it was justified many times.  Still, for this particular change, I'd rather they left things alone. I don't have much trust left.  Still, I play on.

Obviously, the only right thing when merging the stats across the Family is increasing the max possible value of such and to sum every value up.

I am convinced that they will do the right thing.
