There is no thing that can make me start to play this game again from zero, if they decide to wipe.

Mainly, because I dont believe they will ever listen to feedback and adjust accordingly.

There is a reason they completely ignore everything - feedback doesnt matter, they gave up on this game, it will still run for some time, until so few players remain that it would be cheaper to just shutdown servers and lay off personnel.

Under capitalism, The Company understands only one language - money. If enough people unsub, The Company actually wakes up and starts fixing stuff, but we dont pay sub in BDO, so we cant affect in any way what this company does, and many of us alrady paid way above usual 15$/month in cash shop, so the company got their profits from us.

I will never play any korean mmo again, and possibly no other moo, because there is no guarantee that some new CEO or dev lead will not screw things up with stupid decisions they announce as 'improvement'.

That's brilliant idea.  Never play a Korean MMO again.  Now get over to Ashes of Scamnation and pay several hundred dollars to test the broken alpha after a decade.

True fact: The Unreal Engine is so powerful I created a better combat system that Ashes by myself with no experience in only a few months.

It'd be nice to be able to choose your race and gender at character creation like most games have (no race or gender lock)...

More non-human race/class options...

Overhaul ocean content (add underwater combat, cities, and mounts) make sailing actually fun and meaningful

Add more fantasy aspects to the game, make it more High Fantasy (minus the cutesy talking animals; bunnies, turtles, otters, foxes, papu, ect)

Climbing! Seriously we were supposed to have this years ago...

Air content (combat, cities, and mounts that actually fly)

Actual group content seeing as this is supposed to be an MMORPG which stands for MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER ROLEPLAYING GAME (something they seem to forget)

Meaningful PvE and PvP content

Make it more immersive

Implement the lore better and make it easier to follow

But sadly this thread is pointless because they'd never make big changes to their game due to Crimson Desert...

I would like to have more dungeon and group gameplay, maybe something like m+ from wow and grifts from Diablo

I would love faster traveling times, portals directly to every city would be great

I would increase premium outfit price to 2.73 Bill so it hurts less to buy crones from vendor

I would change everything except the combat system and the game world. Everything else is mediocre to shit.

Instead of a hard vertical progression, I'd add a more horizontal one that's more about build and gear diversity instead of chasing after the next +1 AP.

I would equalize the power scaling more overall, so that you don't oneshot everything with 10 AP more that you didn't oneshot before. Instead, players who are in CC would get x3 more damage.

I would make almost all open world content more open overall, so that you can play and progress better together as a group.

I would completely remove the shitty enhancing system from the game with the cron system. Instead you get better or different gear through quests, loot from the grind, dungeons or you really make it yourself with professions like blacksmithing.

I would add real professions in general.

I would make lifeskills more rewarding.

I would add PvE, PvP or PvX events (similar to Archeage or TnL) where you make your progress instead of grinding in circles like a dumb bot.

I would give open world PvP meaning by adding objectivs, a custom currency and merchants with useful and progress relevant stuff.

I would remove any form of daily, weekly quests and login rewards and instead add all the rewards from those into the game world itself.

I would allow player-to-player trading.

I would never add the season servers. Instead, make the leveling itself more interesting and the opponents more challenging.

I would make completing the MSQ optional.

I would remove the Magnus.

I would remove Marnis Realm.

I would undo the Guild Dec changes and instead create Lifeskill and PvE guild tools for them to protect themselves with. Albion Online has great ideas and tools for such things.

I would reduce the number of server channels.

RIP BDO,

you've always been a Korean p2w casino simulation grinder that distracted from the real essence with strong graphics and blatant combat effects. I now see it. BDO is not really a game. It's just a shame about the combat system.

I'd rather pay 120$ for an alpha that I can play until release and 15$ sub after that instead of continuing to play this p2w casino simulator masquerading as a video game.

How much have you spent on p2w costumes in BDO so far? Probably more than 120$.

Have fun in Cron Desert!

Bdo is funded by whales and gambling addicts by design. Targeting whales is also easier when you have a subpar nieche product that can not compete in the regular market.

Yeah unfortunatly combat is all this game has going for it. No other game compares. I love the flashy skills and fast-paced action combat. That's the only thing that keeps me coming back, that and I love my characters. Really wish they'd put more effort into this game rather than focus on Crimson Desert (which most people don't even care about). Sadly gaming companies don't seem to be in it for the long haul anymore. They only care about short-term profits. The MMORPG genre is pretty much dead at this point. I'll go down with this ship though as I've said I love the combat and my characters. Plus I put so much time into it...

BDO celebrated 10 years of a live service game available with updates for decades.

Ashes celebrated 10 years of a game barely in Alpha state lacking content, graphics, completely glitched, and low quality combat.

Naturally one of best aspects of P2W games is the free to play model.  Which BDO is close to.  However, what is not commonly recognized is just how important this is long term and how important it becomes.

The problem with a monthly fee isn't when your playing daily and the game is lively.  Then the cost seems trivial and not an issue.  However, when the game reaches a state like BDO today known as Maintenance mode or isn't producing content you like you are expected to pay regardless of your opinions or reality.

If the game shuts down it's staff, you are expected to pay.

If the game doesn't release content for 8 months, you are expected to pay.

If you just want to try a new update, you are expected to pay

As far as P2W costumes the answer is ZERO.  While I have the luxury to whale any game I want I also have the intelligence and common sense to know it's not even in my best interest to do so.  Nearly every fault of BDO is due to an arrogant P2W model that destroys the entire game.

First of all, Ashes has effectively been in development since 2019, as the studio did not exist before. Before that, it was a Kickstarter project that was created out of nothing. You surely know that. So no, Ashes has effectively been in development for about 6 years and even if it's 10 years, it was a fucking Kickstarter project by a couple of frustrated MMORPG players, one of whom happens to be a millionaire. TnL has been in development for more than 11 years.

And yes, Combat looks like shit (after all it´s a ALPHA), but it plays a lot better than it looks if you don't compare it to BDO. Unfortunately, nothing will ever come close to BDO's Combat. But at least they are trying to develop an MMORPG that many who are frustrated with the MMORPG genre can enjoy again, without the hassle of monetization and mass market compromises. Whether it will be successful remains to be seen.

As for the disadvantages of subscriptions, I have a very simple solution:

If the game shuts down it's staff, you are expected to pay I will cancel my subscription.

If the game doesn't release content for 8 months, you are expected to pay I cancel my subscription.

If you just want to try a new update, you are expected to pay, yes. If the update looks promising, I'm happy to pay.

If u know a very simple solution for korean F2P = P2W Problems, let me and PA know.
