Alot of reasons, pvp in this game suks because of the mechanics and GS difference which makes it DEAD content, if you have 700GS how do you beat an 750+GS player that have nothing else to do but hunts you until change server or quit game? They just push gear progression in a direction that will make pvp even more unplayable, too much damage output and CC's, FUN= ZERO. You can just hope to get MARNI REALM on every single spot, that will help avoiding players and if the main purpose is just PVE only which btw grinding spots are outdated. Anyway, this new gear progression is a huge time investing and even more its based on RNG, for that I just stop playing, they push this far too much to enjoy anymore but if there are players who wants to spend 10-20k hours fine but I don't want to, and future updates looks terrible.
Exactly this. And what some 12 years old on here can't get is that people don't have all the time in the world. Gearing take tons of time, and they keep introducing new stuffs and new stuffs on top.
Why would i try to Open World PVP, where i will either one shot someone or will get One shooted ? Also anyone will first want to PVE and gear up, which takes tons of time, unless you 24/7 BDO.
There is also huge, and i mean HUGE difference between classes. And some hard classes are extremely different when you PVP and when you PVE. Also PVE and PVP is completely different ballgames. A lot of people just want to chill, and doesn't want to invest their life into BDO.
If people want to PVP so badly, and it's the "majority" of the players, why are they are not doing this on Arsha ?
Why are they Forcing PVP onto others? If there is so many Open World PVP wannabies, why is that PVP players always try to force the PVP, and why are they so against full PVE servers.
Surely the "majority" of the players will still be PVP, right? Right, but not, as the reality is, the PVP playerbase is the minority.
And actual PVP is, where it's all about the skill of the player. In BDO is all about the different GS and the classes. Some classes are braindead easy and OP, some are super hard to play, and even when you master them, are still underpowered.
Disabling pvp will just turn the normal servers in a state similar to the season servers, where when you are grinding you get any rando passing by deciding they want to grind on your same rotation (even tho the entire grind zone is empty) killing off your overall grind hour, just because you can not dissuade them by activating the pvp.
Taking the pvp off from normal servers is NOT a good thing, we already get punished too much just for trying to keep a rotation free of griefers, there is actual no need to help those kind of players have even an easier time messing with anyone else that wants to just chill while grinding one hour or two
There is easy fix to that, in a supposed PVE server. Make the monster zones instance based. So players cannot see each other, etc.
If you had read the first few sentences of my post, you'd see that I specified there are other endgame alternatives to PvP. I put "endgame" in quotes because endgame content in BDO is super subjective and isn't the same for everyone. I was making the point that PvP is the only thing that is feasible as a true endgame because of how the game is currently designed. Like I mentioned before, there are some people who lifeskill for their endgame and others who just like grinding to grind, no matter their gearscore. But once you reach the 720+ Gearscore on most classes, the only real progression from there is to be better at PvP. Especially with all of the new grind zones being capped content. The newer zones don't care if you're 309 AP or 340 AP. The only real reason to push it higher as a casual player is to be able to PvP more effectively.
That being said, there are some spots like Dehkia 2 Oluns or Dehkia 2 Ash that you have to be on the most meta class and have to be like, 780+ just to be able to grind it at all. But if you're grinding those spots, you're not a casual player.
As for the TnL comments, that's really kind of a moot point now. There are some people that just wanted to try it. They didn't hate BDO and they weren't quitting the game, it was just something new and shiny that they wanted to look at. Hell, even I went over there to give it a shot, but I ended up not liking how slow the combat felt and I enjoy BDO's dynamic combat a lot more, so I uninstalled it almost immediately. I will say, I do agree that the people who were dooming BDO to death constantly and insulting PA while inserting themselves up the rectum of TnL should go sit over there and keep enjoying their paywalls.
lol agree there on TnL. I play it a little. It's a decent game. I don't think it's a replacement for BDO and I don't think it's going to last as long. I'm getting bored with it. I like that you can get lucent in the game by selling off stuff (traits), but I don't like how you can whale out the top gear (for the richy kids). If only BDO lets us acquire pearls in the game somehow... that would be nice.
There's some good systems in TnL that would be nice to have in BDO. The quick party generators for the dungeons are nice. The fact that bosses and dungeons actually drop relevent gear (even if rare) is nice, compared to the outdated crap that BDO bosses drop, other than vell/garmy. The guild contracts are nice, get the whole guild to participate, rather then BDO guild missions that are basically done solo.

Suggestions/Comments:
My main idea is outside of the two Arsha servers the world pvp would be completly turned off or at least both pleayer needs to turn on the pvp mode to do damage to each others. The reason for this is simple, right now world pvp looks like this: a red dude shows up when you grinding and try to kill you for no reason(specially when a new spot is introduced), a red dude shows up (or a group of red pleayers) when you are doing guild bosses and try to kill everyone there for no reason, a red dude shows up when you do gathering and just kill you for no reason. And trust me when you just graduated or just minding your own business this isn't fun since a lot of pleayers have better gear than a freshly graduated person or don't care about pvp at all. I mean i get it it must be fun killing somebody with two skills or even less but for a new pleayer it can be irritating to deal with a 750+gs dude who goes red and kil you in Blood Wolf for no reason at all. So with this solution the ones who care about pvp would be in the pvp server doing their things and kill each other or whatever they want, and the rest of the non pvp pleayers can enjoy peace.
Because these kinds of suggestions were taken seriously, PvP died. Everyone kept saying, "PvP isn't that important in BDO," and a few months later, the player base dropped by more than half, with many streamers quitting the game. It became monotonous and boring. How can you suggest something like that when:
- Players still intervene on your monster rotation.
- Players still do all sorts of things to disrupt you, and you can’t retaliate?
Another reason: Why even bother upgrading your gear in this game? You can do PvE with just entry-level gear—the only difference is that you won't earn as much money. But it's still the same content. You’ve received private Marni’s hours, and war protection (which was the biggest mistake).
Now, most players are leaving the game, and if you check sites that track player populations, you'll see it's on a continuous decline (except on days when players get free items or hammers for PEN attempts, but by the next day, the numbers drop back to their usual low and continue to fall).

It’s called interaction. It’s normal for there to be conflicts in a multiplayer game like this. This is what motivates you to grow and progress, which is what the developers want too— for you to invest time in the game. Everyone progresses based on how much time they invest in the game or their luck. This is normal in an MMORPG. There is no equality; if there were, it would be boring and unplayed. If you want to play something like that, you can switch to games like Palia. You can make friends in BDO so that you receive help when you’re in situations like this, or if you're friendly enough, you may not even end up in situations like this because no one attacks their friends, right? It’s all about behavior. When you consider yourselves perfect and superior by insulting people, griefing them, or disrupting their monster rotations, they will want a way to defend themselves or get revenge. It’s perfectly human. If you’re complaining about being abused or that things aren’t going exactly how you want, then I think this game isn’t for you.

But it's already in the game. It's called: "Marni realm".

The only 12 year olds i see here are the people who don't want owpvp in the owpvp game and that's not even a thing now (one of the stupidest things they did while doing nothing to compensate that). Karma changes killed owpvp. Marni realm killed owpvp. Dekhia style grinds killed owpvp. I mean you people are crying wolf so much it's unbelievable. A guy was complaining about getting targeted through servers as if that's not totally made up. If you can't kill someone, anyone in the same grindspot at you it's purely a you poblem not class or gear problem.
People are still not complaining about stupid cron stone progression but will die on a hill on the most non problem ever.
PvP is already turned off, that`s why this game is so dead.
This is cope. BDO's progression and systems are bad.
I have watched PvP people mass complain and demand reverts and rollbacks for every single pvp addition or tweak I've ever seen implemented in this game since its launch. They're never happy. They've never been happy. Its never been enough.
More node war patches won't save this game. Nobody wants to play it with you and you'll all say its trash and to revert it anyway.

A bunch of nonsenses, by someone trying to explain what fun should be for me, and what motivates me in a game to keep going.
And stop with the numbers nonsenses. This and next months the numbers will be huge, so with what excuse you will come then? All your arguments will go to the bin.
When there is new games to the horizon, it's normal that the numbers drops, that doesn't mean it's permanent.
The big numbers of players that comes to the BDO was due to a lot of people quitting Lost Ark and moving to BDO. And they were forcefully chased away by the PVP players, as they was constantly ganked, chased and killed.
That's why PA made the changes. You can cry as much as you like, this changes will never be reverted.
And don't tell me what is normal in a MMO. BDO is one of the very few game that has forcefully PVP.
And again if people really wanted to PVP, you have million of places to do it. Plenty of content to do it. And again you can freely Open World PVP in Arsha.
And no one wants to play a game, where he needs years to catch up, just to be able to touch some other player.
Most MMORPG that super fast gear progression, and PVP is on equal term. Not like in BDO. Huge disparity in Gear Score. New and even established players can never compete in Open World PVP, unless they 24/7 or swipes like madman.
And maybe the game ain't for you, as you are the ones that crying like madman about the PVP, h?

They didn't kill Open World PVP. They killed forced Open World PVP, and completely unfair fights that was between players with huge disparity.
Good PVP is where it's all about the player skill, not the gear, and not the class(class should provide a strategic and mechanical advantage/d), not carry you.
And again if people were loving the Open World PVP, what is stopping you to do it in the Arsha, h?
Every single good PVP you start at equal levels. That's why BDO failed as PVP game, and they changed the approach.
