The AFK fishing profit inflation has turned this game into a full-on mobile game (that window popup everytime you login doesn't help the mobile vibes case either)

If one can make nearly 2 billions everyday just afk fishing, how would anyone find the motivation to do any other Life Skills or anything else? When you could make quadruple the profit doing nothing for 24 hours, you can login at the end of the week and grab everything else you need from the market. Even Imperial cooking boxes on 2K mastery has equalled a couple of red grade fish. How would anyone play your f***ing game if all you need to do to get your desired items is AFK fish?

I've lost my desire to do my weekly routine of gathering meats for profit, tend to my farms, work on a second Carrack to tackle bartering next, cook imperial trade meals, and even my occasional combat grinding sessions. While the purpose of these is to have fun, a huge chunk of it is ripped off when there's no meaningful reward at the end of it. "Our gifts and QoL are not making players stick, let's have them be online 24 hours and the incentive will be copious amounts of free silver. That will show we got an active game!" -some idiot at the team, probably.

It's bad enough they constantly strip you away from joyous little achievments working on a long-term goal like infinite potions or carracks (by making them marketable), or Oprah everyone a Dream Horse. The game already has so few meaningful goals to keep you aspiring to play, and the constant watering down everything will leave you with an empty game once the new players have also had their fill. At this pace, Lafi's Compass and Archaeologist Map will be up for grabs next patch.

Stop listening to the whims of the average new player and turning your game into a trash mobile game bit by bit. If you wanna keep the fishing profits as it is, get to damn work and balance the rest of the game's aspects.

Yeah.  Everything should be balanced.  Giving preferential treatment to certain aspects of the game is lame.

But, considering how many crons one needs to level up gear................ how else is one supposed to make quick cash?

To grind a billion a day takes a lot of money or luck to get to that point.

So they buffed fishing.  But they should equalize things.  Things that take more work, should make more money.

I've been sailing 95% of the time, first building my first carrack, then second, now just bartering for crow coins. All I keep thinking is - what is even the point. I can't make any significant (if any) silver from sailing, yet I can pull out my fishing rod, minimise the game and make billions.

Kind of weird. It's like they're trying to pump hours "played" for their shareholders without caring if anyone is even actively doing anything in the game.

Biggest problem is that you can't really make a decent amount of silver from doing any of the sea content compared to for example grinding. I mean it already takes a while getting the good stuff and only being able to sell it for like 10mill a pop... not to mention the special barters can net you something but they're few and very far inbetween.

You can already make 2b/h or close to 3 while grinding for 1h......leaving the game on afk fishing for 18h and making 1b is not that rewarding........

When PA buffs something, they usually don't buff it nearly enough. PA has buffed laikairo, barter, and sea monster hunting, however these activities still make far too little silver.

p2w & cronflation d die if they'd make it all profitable, or players d achieve endgame too fast and game d run out of micro-dosed content

I agree and also think there should be a greater number of profitable active gameplay options. In another topic I suggested adding an active variant of processing, cooking and alchemy with greater profits, while still allowing the AFK variant, but so far that has only received downvotes, so I guess people really like the AFK money.

True, sailing and bartering are currently semi-AFK. In the same vein as above, some active activities could be added to sailing as well, for instance you could sometimes run into some valuable debris and then have the option to complete a little minigame to pick up the debris and earn some extra silver from it. Things like that would make it worthwhile to actually look at the screen while sailing from A to B.

god  forbid fishing is buffed after being trash for years

also, what is even all  this cope.

as good as fishing is, it's not enough to meaningfully progress. best items now take 500b+ per slot, you arent getting full gear by just afk fishing
