never have i seen a worse suggestion yet. wanting to restrict player freedom is wild. players that play more SHOULD be ahead, there is nothing wrong with that, . you're trying to fix something that is not an issue.
such energy systems are mobile game mechanisms, we dont need that.
Also, I do not believe for a second that this would "reduce burn out", conversely, I think it might lead to the opposite. when grinding is limited like that, people will feel bad when they dont do it on a given day. leading to unhealthy approach of doing your alloted 2 hours whether you feel like playing or not.
People will afk fish instead, while playing another game. Then one day they will just stop playing and keep playing the other game.
That's what's happening to me. I went from "hardcore" sailing, completing all daily quests, exchanging all crow coins, refreshing my barter 2-3 times per day to logging in, pulling out my fishing rod, pressing Space and minising the game. Feels great jumping back into The Division 2 :D
As for the original suggestion - this will literally never happen because Pearl Abyss are constantly looking for ways to prolong play sessions. If they can place bosses further than before so that it takes longer for you to get to them they will. If they can make drop rates lower for something everyone wants they will. If they can have people grinding 8+ hours per day - hell yeah. You have to understand that the number of hours you play is called engagement and engagement makes shareholders happy.
Why do you think they're pushing fishing so hard? Because they know that even those people who don't play this game will log in and have it running which, as you might've guessed, generates engagement! A perfect solution - they don't have to improve anything. Game can remain as is with an occasional s**t event. They just have to give you an easy tricle of silver from you logging in.
