Many people have complained before. So I'll bring this up and make it short.

-Chat ban goes across whispers and guild chat even, which is rediculous

- Why have a block button if you're going to chat ban?

- You might as well "forum" ban people too if you're going to be this restrictive.
- You cannot regulate everything, making proper decisions. Swearing has so many different variations. 

-You could be clever and just change the words, for example "Swear word 1" means "pineapples" which is what some games do automatically.

- BDO ALREADY has chat filters? You can turn them on

- BDO already has again, a block button. People need to learn to use it.

- You cannot regulate the actions of people in your game unless they hack or such, freedom of speech exists for a reason? People swear on TV, the internet, at home, at eachother, it's inevitable

- Chat ban is obvioulsy used as a harassment. One time I was fishing afk for three days away from my computer. Someone probably scrolled up and reported me for a couple of sentences that I think I wrote "Well that's S**" in. I don't even know the sentence, (This is my second offense, I did the first one on purpose just to test it out because why not. I stopped after that because, I just thought it was rediculous.

- It's 2026 and Salami still doesn't exist in BDO. Sausage does!? at least cure the sausage god.

-How about if I'm having fun banter with a friend and swearing on purpose and we're both enjoying your game, inclined to spend more money because of it?

-PVP is naturally part of your game with safe zones. People are GOING to get upset who don't handle the internet at all very well

- This is not a 100% family friendly game with 10 year olds, who 10 year olds swear anyway. Have you seen Call of duty???

- It's the internet. This is a game world. Where people can be anything within the world and do...so many things...~?

- You have a roleplay server, you're basically inviting that type of content to begin with. Swearing, ERP whatever.

- ????????????? ????????????~~~~~????????????????????? Why ????????? ~???????????? ~??????????????????

Best of luck. This isn't a dig, it's just a reality. Chat ban is a terrible feature and removing it will save you lots of money, time, headache and free up your Game masters to actually do the work they do to keep the game fun, interesting, running.

- Remove your chat ban. It's hurt your fan base, it's given you bad publicity. It's not a good approach to this game. 
- I know GM's have to talk to the Dev team, so gather up, go talk to the Dev team.

You need money to run the game.

I'm pretty sure, most of the majority of your player base agree with me. Because as "toxic" as it was without a chat ban, we still had block, whispers to block, and family block. Including the simple capability of chat filters and ignoring people.

I mean...Common sense exists right? Am I wrong here? Someone tell me I'm wrong.

P.s. If you INSIST on a chat ban. Then simply make it so server and group chat can't be used, or even say.

Allow for Guild chat and Whispers.

The internet was fine back when there were no chat policing around. Giving people the choice to moderate what they can see through block functions and chat filters is all thats needed. Noone likes being told what they can and cant say.

under settings you can literally turn it off, and only keep guild chat and whispers on for example, or combat filters etc. 

Furthering my point, there are settings for this. Hardly anyone, if ever, uses "say" which you can turn off and block too.

Gonna guess chat bans are for spamming and people who get around chat filters by changing the i to a 1 or l in a word.  Also how something is said is more important than what is said.  Telling someone their mother fornicates with donkeys is drastically worse than dude f off.

Well I do not mind people arguing and swearing in chat, what I have something against is:

- Commercial Ads
- Telling people to die irl and ask if they are not buried enough under bombs or they need more (this example comes from an russian vs. ukrainian convo in chat wich referres to the war going on).

and things like that clearly deserve a ban.

Anything else, like when I am annoyed when sreamer x repeats his twitch ivitation 10 times or other people who can't stop talking stupid bla bla (like Leeshao) can be blocked if needed.

Guess, the function is okay, some people abusing it will always be there.

Commercial ad's for gold selling or whatever can be blocked via the block char button, report button.

Chat ban is a terrible feature addition that does not need to exist. It doesn't solve anything, it just mutes players for existing.

Somehow I've never been chat banned in 10 years.
