You literately can turn off PvP at all times at anywhere you want, and there is nothing that other players could do agains it, as they can't just force PvP like in bdo.
That not seems mandotary m8.
Other than a rather large chunk of the game is ties to it. Which is why I said almost. BDO while not having the option to turn PvP off has pretty much NOTHING that ties PvE to PvP. That does not mean that what NW does is a BAD thing...just BAD for me as I really don't care very much about PvP. And I don't like the feeling of I have to do it or I am letting everyone else in my faction/company down (more faction than company as you can in theory have a explicit none PvP company...not that I saw any).
Played the New Worlds test, but found it very generic, its like something we played already often in other mmo, its nothing new there.
BDO sure has it flaws but wins for me, and the devs sure could make BDO the best mmo if they rework few things. (like pvp, even if i dont like pvp, lots others do). Current patch notes already prove again bdo devs actually listen to the community, the movement changes as example.
But there is a market for people who want the generic old school feel in a new game. They are happy with the game...I am not...both groups can have what they want.
Generic, and that's all the players want. They want a good game to play. Not some flashy pille of garbage, created by wannable gamedevs who are trying to reinvent the wheel as they think they are so good, despite they actually suck hard.
The first part is fine. The second...fine you don't like BDO. It's not the game for you. Why are you trying to disparage people for liking something you don't like? Also if you hate this ganme so much and thing NW is so great, why are you here instead of at the NW forums? Stop wasting your time trying to convince people that what YOU personally like is correct and they are wrong for liking something YOU personally do not. People like different things...let them like what they like.

The fact that despite I ain't mentioned any game, or pointed to anyone or anything, and you still feel that I was talking about bdo pretty much shows how much I was on point :)
Though I was talking in a generall sense among mmos (as not only bdo try to reinvent the wheel just to fail miserably), but it can be applied to bdo aswell, true.

yeah, but is rare wannabee dev being able to get one billion $ in profit with their game and i am confident black desert is still in the top 10 mmorpg even after 5 years
it is just black desert has the best waifu system, open world, nice gameplay, not bad graphic
they reinvent the wheel, but it is just not other company are good with this wheel like pearl abyss, other company often suck to made good waifu and those with good waifu still use old gameplay than modern gameplay or their graphic look like nintendo graphic
so yes ff14 or wow are more popular, but black desert is not so bad
Before I state my opinion I want to give a little background on my MMO experiences. (note i say "to me" alot because everyone is entitled to thier own opinions)
WoW - played 5 years
FF14 - played 6 years on and off
BDO - played 3 years on and of
ESO - played 2-3 years on and off
GW/GW2 - total about 4 years on and off.
BDO is not the best MMO on the market, not even close!
BDO is a mostly AFK game (once you get to a certain level of power)
The content is lacking and the only enjoyable thing for me is the PVP, because its action based.
The other major games like FF14 totally obliterate BDO for PVE content and non PVP fun.
When New World beta / preorder thing came about I deserted the other games and deep dived into it, sorta spending all my gaming time (yes i dont play all day but usually spend a good 2-3 hours a day gaming these days)
I will say; IT HAS ALOT OF POTENTIAL!
PVE wise its already better than BDO; but FF14 is the king of PVE.
PVP wise it needs some work still but the fact that power levels scale is really cool.
That bieng said do i think it will be a good game? it is a good game already especially considering the price, but it has the potential to be a great game.
This is the same feeling I have had for BDO for since I started out 3 years ago. I always felt the combat bieng action based was a breath of fresh air and have kept hoping they can get better content, improve progression and such. However content is where BDO falls flat on thier face to me. Its not very fun or engaging to me. While BDO has improved the ability to progress early on (up to like 269 GS is prettty easy compared to before) its still turns into a casino game at the high end game. This has been the thing that takes me away from really caring to improve on my 289k (385dp) character. I feel like its not worth to try anymore because the chance of success is so low to enhance pen accessories. Grinding up 30b 60b 100b to buy them? na i am not that much of a no - lifer .. Bottom Line BDO is one game that has always had and still has alot of potential, but after all these years, it feels like the chances of them to really take the game to the next level is getting lower and lower each patch day.
New World does not have Waifu's or slutty women costumes (not yet anyways) and if the reason you play an MMO is to fap on your character New World will definately not be your thing. That said its immesly emmersive and I found myself drinking extra coffee in the morning at work a few days because i just kept playing new world late the prior evening.
Im going to give Amazon a chance, they have a solid foundation for the game and the resources to really make it great. Will they? only time will tell, but regardless BDO is phasing out for me.

it is why i have cyberpunk, witcher, red dead redemption, gta v, dark soul, horizon new dawn, outer world when i play no waifu game
*OP plays BDO as single player 95% of the time with the exception of nw.*
*makes thread*
"best mmo in the market"
im sorry you're in a abusive relationship OP but you should try out the other fish in the sea to get an idea of how other MMOs are
New World will never get big, because it has one fundamental flaw: It lacks cosmetics and pretty female characters players could play.
That's not true tho. I can see that they would want to advertise it, however:
-they also working on localizing LA, hence you can't say that they only want to advertise their solution, they mostlikely want to enter into the gaming industry
-Lumberyard is a terrible engine. It's straightup trash, especially for mmos. Noona wanna buy dat.
No one has to buy the Lumberyard engine, it is not for sale. The people who use the Lumberyard are encouraged to pay for AWS. Otherwise you could set up the Lumberyard and use your own services. I am sure others will agree there are better engines available. Fans of Unreal and Unity are always debating which is best to use and which one will cost you less to use. Both are so much alike, to someone like me, it is apples and oranges, some like Coke and others like Pepsi.
As for Amazon's plans, they currently plan to make this a one and done game. If you think it is worth $40 US for the basic or $50 for the deluxe version, then have fun playing it. Amazon could decide (as NCSoft did) to make it Freemium a year later on and all the vets who spent cash feel like they just got their nuts crushed. Amazon's goal is to have the games sign up with them for the services, and they don't need to hear us whiners complain about those games. Their overhead cost is pratically nothing.

So they sell it as a package, that's basically the same.
Regardless, they might make it free a year later, but it's not like bdo would not had a higher box cost at the release and they would give it away for free ever other month now, so what's your point? A game lose it's value over time, hence the studio behind it adjusts the pirce.
NW not going to kill wow, you can be sure that, it's an avarage game at best. About the value, I spent more hours just in the beta, than how many hours of fun the owerwhelming mayority of games give to the players on avarage, so it seems ok value even if they shut down this year lol... Tho I doubt I will reach 2year worth of playtime in NW, so wow will still better value wise...
