Base Tools for Gathering & Fishing
Now the world of Life Skill Gathering activities in Black Desert became more ripe for the picking as adventurers can jump right in without any preparation.
Say you stumble upon untapped natural resources along the road, or are filled with a sudden urge to reel up some undiscovered species of fish... Well fret no more! Now you can partake in Gathering & Fishing activities whenever you please!
We hope this simplification of Gathering & Fishing will encourage many more adventurers to freely explore uncharted chapters in their own Black Desert adventures.
- Changed Gathering & Fishing so you can engage in the Life Skill activities without equipping a tool.
- You can engage in Lumbering, Fluid Collecting, Hoe Gathering, Butchering, Tanning, Mining, and Fishing without equipping the following tools.

Family Tool Window for Gathering & Fishing
We've added a new "Family Tool Window for Gathering & Fishing" feature, allowing all characters within a Family to share Gathering and Fishing tools. With the integration of Life Skill levels across the Family and the shift to Family-shared equipment for Gathering and Fishing, you can now enjoy these activities with any character you choose. Additionally, even without specialized tools, you can still gather and fish with base tools. So if the durability of your equipped Gathering tools or fishing rods is completely consumed, you can still continue Gathering and Fishing as if equipped with base tools.
- Added the Family Tool Window for Gathering & Fishing, which allows you to share Gathering and Fishing tools with your entire Family.
- When you equip a Life Skill tool in this window, the tool's effects will apply to your entire Family.

How to Use Gathering & Fishing Tools
- Changed Gathering & Fishing so you need only equip tools via the Family Tool window once to use them whenever you wish.
- You can select the fishing rod by selecting it with your mouse from the ring menu that appears after holding the ' (apostrophe) key located to the left of the ENTER key
* A separate UI will be added in a future update on top of the key prompt to use the fishing rod.
- The equipped gathering tool will be automatically used when you interact with gatherables.
TIP!
* With "Family Tool window for Gathering & Fishing" and "Gathering & Fishing Base Tools" updates being applied simultaneously, you will immediately switch to the base tool effects if the durability of any equipped life tools are completely consumed
* With "Family Tool window for Gathering & Fishing" and "Gathering & Fishing Base Tools" updates being applied simultaneously, you will immediately switch to the base tool effects if the durability of any equipped life tools are completely consumed
- Changed the following basic gathering and fishing tools to no longer be like obtainable.
- White grade basic life tools can no longer be obtained via NPC shops, house crafting, and quest rewards.
- Compensation for these tools will be distributed as Silver during the June 26 (Wed) maintenance.
