Hello, im kinda confused with the new stats on inventory page.
When i look at it and see one of my characters it says "358"AP and yet i cannot take that character to places where it says 250AP on map?(like areas on Elvia servers.)
Shouldnt that stat tell the player what they can and cannot do?

Wow if you have 358 AP that means you can go anywhere.
Because of the fact that BDO didn't show hidden AP for a long time the only relevant stat is your sheet AP when it comes to finding the right farming ground! Sheet AP = The AP shown in your character inventory page not in the detailed page = the real AP given thru weapons, vells heart and assessories without hidden AP or AP from Buffs or food!

You can't even reach 358AP currently, even with the best items in the game.
That AP which is written on the map, and what everyone is talking about is under your gear in your inventory, and not on the extended stat window.
The extended stat window shows your total AP, which actually matters in combat, just due to the poor game deseign there is a bracket system that onyl causes confusion and bad gear scaling for no actually benefit for the game.

If you read the new stat window its pretty self explanitory.
on the AP section follow from left to right,
Char base AP all classes have this classes base may very
Char ap Additional ( this will be were your class passive ap is i.e. extra AP in the passive section in the "K" menu)
gear base (this is the collective of your gears stats)
Gear additional(this is any set affect I.e. Akum gives a 7ap four set affect this is were it will be listed)
Gear bonus (this is all your bonus ap including gems stats)
Others( this is were your Books, game bonus, food,Druaght, villa, church, guild or any other ap+)
On the Far right is your TOTAL AP
So using your Base and total i am guessing your in the 225-240 sheet AP range and yes that is not high enough for hadum stuff. The suggested AP range on the map is based on your sheet score NOT sheet plus bonus AP however you can tweek it a little based on using kutum and Blackstar weps this will allow you to hit a lil harder above your weight.
But do not be deceived there is a major difference between a player with Orc ap of 280 (280ap+ with kutum) and those with 225ap with kutum just becouse both has the collective AP to do Orcs both gear sets are in a whole different world becouse there are major AP and brackets lost between them.
They said they were going to redo the grind spot numbers to display total AP requirements, but it looks like they forgot to do that with this patch.

Yep clear as mud.
I fully understand it though, the question becomes..whats going to be used for GS requirements now?
Our old system of just adding up AP with DP, wasnt specific enough. Especially now that we can see true accuracy, DR, and evasion.
We still need dmg numbers, especially now that the game has a dungeon.
