Dev's are ruining their shot to fix siege

I have been doing siege with guilds before siege was even in the game. Pre server merge , before nodewars and sieges were in game, my guild used to pratice pushing the castle and got used to where and how to move when pushing it. I used to have such high hopes for this game. I came from GW2, and fell in love with the WvW pvp.

Now there is no use blaming PA for the mistakes it made leading to the death of Siege in all regions, and now NA. But the fact is instead of trying to fix it, they are only going to make it worse.

They have the right idea, but giving the winners 2bil and 1000 dust, and the losers 150 mil is the 100% wrong move. People have already shown they wont go to siege cause it isn't worth it. now throw in the fact that the big siege guilds will get 3 bil AND get the region AND get the drop rate bonus, while the losing guilds will get 150mil and farmed for 3 hours.... thats really not going to bring new players to the scene.

 

They need to make the reward for EVERYONE at least 1 bil. 1 bil for 52 weeks (1 year) means in 1 year of siegeing EVERY week you will be able to affore a PEN ruins ring in a little over 1 year, and a PEN Distortion in just a little over 2 years.

 

The large guilds, like mine, do not need the silver, you need to give that to the new players to bring them to siege.... We need people to play with us, not silver.

 

Giving that much more silver to the winners will also incentivise passing off castle and giant zerg alliances, thats exactly what we do not need. They need to open siege to the 99% of players who play this game, and to make it fun, not keep it locked for us 1%ers who sweat and min max making it not enjoyable. The bonus of winning a siege should be payouts, drop rate buff, bragging rights, and maybe just maybe a small amount more of silver.

 

I believe that by making the rewards 1 bil + for person, it will create natural increase of real unscripted fights on nodewars. It will let people try out siege and some people may even decide they like it and join or create more PvP focused guilds. But by only giving the winning guild the insane prize you will not fix any problem, you will only be furthering the devide and hatred for mass group PvP.

 

This game is supposed tto be fun and rewarding, thats why we play it. These KR dev's trying to make everything as painful as possible ruins the experience for the majority of players. They ar lucky the have the fun combat system that they do in an uncontested market, because if there were another game to play right now this game would lose so many people.

People will say that having people just afk and plant sticks for siege will be a problem, and to that i say "it's a much better problem than no siege at all".

 

They have the systems in place now. Make it so you have to be in region when siege is live, click the "yes" up button on guild page. then for 12 hours after siege, make an NPC spawn at the castle throne room where you can collect the propper reward that your guild won (how ever they did it in KR where you could buy the failstacks and caphras).

 

the best part about tyhis idea is, if it doesnt work and it only creates afk stack placements, then you can either revert it, or lessen the rewards. But the possible benifet is drawing new people to the NW/Siege scene. 

I dont need a dead siege scene, i dont need 2bil silver for a win, i need new players to come and have fun and give siege a try, and i need them to get $$$ and needed items so they can gear up and start catching up to us to close the gap. In the system you just put out the only thing you are doing is creating a feeling of the rich get richer and making people realize they wont be able to contend with 5 year siege vetran guillds.

 

I have a lot of siege experience, before the game put NW and Siege into the game, my guild used to pratice pushing Mediah castle, we used to pratice V plays and the jump skips, where to position and how to work together. That guild held 4 castles when server merge happened. I have been a part of a siege guild for the entire time this game has been out. Before you flame this post, please realize that this may be the last real chance this game has to revitalize siege and if it fails, a lot of us will most likely be moving to other games... because whats really the point of gearing up for large scale pvp if there is none.

I agree, putting so much money on the line just forces people to siege, nothing has changed, content wise, it's not fun to do an activity simply because it's mandatory.

I agree that rewards between winning/losing shouldn't be so imbalanced. I would rather have competitive fights and not be concerned about who inevitably takes the castle. I dont think the rewards need to be the same, but 3 bil vs 150 mil is way too severe. Make systems that punish people that just try to snipe and rebalance the rewards for participating.

100% agree, this new system is going to encourage alliances passing regions between themselves more than it would encourage new guilds to get into the siege scene. A less imbalanced win vs loss reward and some form of attendence check will make people actually want to siege and fight rather than siege and politic hard in an alliance for traded wins.

I agree that the rewards for winning are way too high. It will give the top players a huge advantage that the rest of us can forget about. This is not the direction the game should go. I hope PA comes to their senses because this is demotivating for 99% of players.
