Hello everyone!

I've finished another one of the projects I had ongoing. A timeline of events described in the lore of Black Desert.

The initial page contains the details of the document, so I won't be copying them here. You can access the Google Docs document here.

Please take a look and let me know what you think. All opinions are welcome!

2023-12-01

+ Updated the Important Events, Calpheon, Mediah, Ulukita, and Valencia sections with information from the main questline of Ulukita.
+ Updated Mountain of Eternal Winter section with newly added dates given by the official website’s Features section.
+ Added a couple of dates to the Drieghan and O’dyllita sections.
+ Rewrote the lines regarding the purge of the Knights of Dawn to be more clear.

+ Added a detail from Sorceress’ backstory missing from the English localization in the Calpheon section.

+ Added more information related to the Awakening quests of various classes throughout the document.

+ Added a detail from Caphras’ adventure in the Elvia section, and expanded the section with related events from the Kamasylvia section.

+ Updated Introduction section.

+ Updated the document’s year formatting to be more precise. It now properly separates approximate given event dates (circa: c.) from the approximate position of an event in the timeline (asterisk: *).

+ Fixed a minor error in the Mediah section.

+ Fixed several entries after reviewing the original Korean texts. Sections affected: Serendia, Calpheon, Valencia.

+ Fixed and moved the position of certain events throughout the entire document and updated their footnotes to explain the reason behind the change.

2022-08-14

+ Added information from the recent Balenos main quest rework. Sections affected: Balenos, Valencia.

+ Restructured the entire document.

• Changed the territories to show in the order they’re visited in the game.

• Added a cover and introduction pages.

• Removed Important Events image & Added Important Events section.

• Added new information about each territory.

• Added old missing information about each territory.

• Fixed errors caused by assumptions or wrong interpretations on my part.

• Fixed errors caused by an inaccurate translation to English made by the official localization of the game.

+ Renamed the Arid Land section to O’dyllita, the Arid Land.

+ Added Mountain of Eternal Winter section.

That's more effort than a non story deserves. 

They keep reworking the story every year.

First It was an event of 3 days of darkness that spread evil upon the world with each culture summong evil spirits

Then it was the black spirit that was found in a chest in the black desert that spread teh darkness, 

Then it was a chest uncovered and transported on a ship and then it spread across the island and amased a navy that attacked.

Then it was Illezra that caused all the tribes to go mad during the 3 days of darkness.

Now Illezra is our freind and is barely mentioned as having anythig to do with the 3 days of darkness.

The main quest is a mess. Just keep mashing that F key.

I think a bit more work like that for players will help assist them understanding the world they are playing in.

I enjoyed the questline that explained the plague and victums outside of Calpheon 

Wasn't it Jordine who instigated the harpies to attack Delphe Castle?

I also laughed when I found during my usual quest for knowledge that it was Alustin and a friend (forgot the name) who created the mutant orge and mutant troll when they were younger and playing with draughts.

Thank you! I bookmarked that for future reference material.  Unlike the common player, I am enjoying the story most of all, and I am starting to feel like everyone I talk to is corrupt with the exception of the black spirit itself.   Most ordinary NPCs in this game are busy asking me to wipe out red orcs and other primitive tribal species (i.e. fogans and naga).  The black spirit maybe chaotic at times, but it shows more concern than most of the NPCs in the game.  I would cite examples, but I don't desire to spoil it for others.

I am working on biographies for my characters, is there a common place for them online?  The "introduce yourself" area on the character seems very small and I doubt others will bother to read it.  In the past, on other games, I have used wikis and blogs to tell their tales of adventure.

Too bad devs didn't do such a thing ingame, an extensive timeline that would get updated with every new piece of information you get though discussions, quests, adventure logs. It would be more interesting than the current knowledge log we have, to my opinion. 

Some of the npc stories are very interesting.

People just run through RRRRRR the quest of the legends of the three blacksmith but..

Dorin Morgrim's Secret Journal 1 & 2 -explains his back story and the rivalry of blacksmiths.

I would of liked to know where Dorin Morgrim (the blacksmith at helms) story started on the timeline myself.

He becomes the blacksmith, for players, that forges  the blackstar armor.

This is great, indeed. Hopefully in the future many other holes can be filled in.
