Wizard class rework brainstorming

Here are some ideas to improve Awakened casters (wiz/witch) without changing class identity.

These ideas are without actual suggestions on how to rework skills or which new skills to make, but simply how to improve upon already existing kit.

make awakened Flow: Magical evasion iframe instead of sa, let it anicancel all(or at least majority)awakened skills(maybe add some distance traveled on it, or at least make it a little faster). make teleport anicancel all awakened skills. class suddenly 10x less frustrating in 1v1 with those two changes alone and gets some of the damage mitigation it lacks.

then rework/buff some preawakened skills that are never used or barely used.(lightning storm, concentrated magic missile, rework resurrection into something else, make red ball apply magic dp down more frequently and make it castable on the run like poison pool/lava field) add sa dmg reduction on absolute: earthquake, make absolute: frigid fog way faster cast.

add sa(better) or fg on abs:earth response, increase cd to 5 sec, increase traveled distance

rework earthquake lightning rabam or make it multitick cc. at the moment its really sad. with swift one u can at least situationally anicancel some preawakened stuff into protection.

allow direct use (without prebuff spells) of fireball explosion, lightning storm and residual lightning like succession specs can access them; improve target connection/damage application of projectile skills on targets moving

make mana shield stop draining casters mana if caster reaches 200 mp.

increase maximum mana pool a bit. hp has been increased over time via various ways, journals, gear etc while mana pool is still the same.

increase slow duration on mana drain to 7 secs, it lasts shorter than an addon, and its a single target cast with decent cooldown.

increase our damage a little vs specific classes, we are super punished vs gauntlets and shields via class to class modifiers.

for wizard specifically, fix hellfire getting stopped by enemy skills hits, stopping the skill and often making you die. same goes for magical evasion in awk for both casters.
 
make pets scale properly or rework them somehow. maybe add some cc on some pet flows to protect agains grabs since they dont really deal damage to geared people anyway?
 
give us a pet command that makes pet pull the summoner (protected, to not make it a suicide)to its side. (if u played tera, there was a class that had a little bot that did something similar)

tldr

 in todays game state u need more movement and options to mitigate damage. some old skills are borderline unused ever and very bad. class isnt competitive vs bunch of classes and comapred to new 2021 classes its a complete joke in kit options.

Agree with most of it (especially the i-frame dash and animation cancels), i also agree about increase the dmg and pet scale and i like the idea of an ability to swap/teleport to the pet location.

 

That said, wizard skills need to be in line with the other classes! It does not make sense that a nuker dmging class have so much utility support skills, i suggest to make the heals only to affect the wizard, same for speed spell.

Also, awak have like 4 protected cc (including pre awak and core), to much! Even the op sage only have 1 in pre awak and 1 core in awak! now that sage is reduced to the other classes lvl, so should wizard.

i wouldnt mind making heals and especially speed spell purely personal or reduced effect for allies further if that meant i could play a class that doesnt need babysitting.

Let me act like U do in every Sage topics:

 

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO  wizard is overtuned and totally op!!!! Too much aoe, precasing with long range i framed teleport, too much of 360% aoe, and HEAL (aghhhhhhhhhhh!) this heal from 0-too 100%. Not to mention dmg reduction while fully protected skills , pet that interrupts others actions  and PA that even after nerf is TO OP! And AWK wizard has GRAB (OMG GRABBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB, cry cry)

 

Teleports needs to be nerfer - I dont SEE when my opponent jumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There must be a big, flashing, red ping-like point showing where wizard will land befor he does!!!!!!!!!!!!    OH and wizrad skills aoe shall be showed similar to WB aoe attacks...

 

Now I shall paste any vid that shows wizard killing pp in rbf or ND that "proves" its OP-ness. - sry im too lazy.
