This offer / quest line is not what it seems.   You will give you TET item and then go through the inital steps and get a TET items that cannont be stoned or sold as said, but what they dont tell you is that you have just embarked on a VERY long grind series that has taken a valuable item from you and that you will have to grind a very VERY long time to get the Materials in order to upgrade it 4 or 5 times to get your PEN.  without the benefit of a weapon that you used to grind.   It is a thinly veiled attempt to placated and intice the player, I should have know better, and never touched this acursed quest line.

You can still use the TET to grind from Levels 1 - 5.

One month is not a very long time.  In fact, if you make 500 million silver per day, you will make 15 billion in one month.  That's right around the price for normal PEN.  If you make 400 million silver per day, that's 12 billion -- The price of cheaper PEN on NA prices.  But what about other regions, like SEA, whose PEN prices are around 20 billion silver or more?  This method is much less effort, and much cheaper than 12 billion.

You can bypass the guaranteed method if you want.  You can grind silver normally and buy / enhance PEN normally.  This is simply an alternative method for players who prefer a linear, predictable, and a clear "Step 1, 2, 3" style progression.

And you can still use the TET's while you're upgrading them.  So I'm unsure what your complaint is about.  You most likely converted Tuvala to the TET, so it's not like you could've upgraded it further anyway and would have to get PEN normally.

Is this just simply another "I don't want to play the game, just give it to me for free, now" post?

The time nor  the cost is the stumbling block here for me, it is the magical shards. After all rhe time they have been in the game I have nowhere near enough even for the first step in the upgrade.

I noticed this also, I almost traded my gear in before looking into it further.  It's just another route for enhancing to PEN and it seems really pointless with how long it will take to get the materials.  Not that it won't work or anything but I feel I'm personally better off saving the silver.  I just wish they would have made it a bit clearer in their original post before I almost made my gear unsellable for no reason.

I ran into this issue for the Jetina Crescent Ring, same when it came to Blackstones.

As a tip, I can think of a couple of options for farming up Magical Shards.

1) Make silver and buy from CM. On NA, they're about 5-ish million each.  So any way you choose to earn a silver income, be it lifeskills or mob farming for silver, you can just buy BMC's raw and heat them into Magical Shards.

2) Grind mobs that drop a lot of BMC's. I'm not sure where your gear is at right now, but Elvia drops a decent amount of BMC'S. Orcs, in particular, drops easily over 5 BMC'S an hour, which is a decent amount. I've gotten over 10 in hour at least a few times at Elvia Orcs. Valencia also drops BMC'S, in my experience, Centaurus drops a good amount, but not as much as Orcs.

I'd suggest doing a mix of these two. Farm mobs for BMC'S, and use silver that your earned towards BMC purchases.

It's a bit of a grind, yes. But these are PEN items, the highest enhancement level (barring Caphra's, obviously). You'll get it eventually. Keep at it! It's cheaper this way than buying PEN straight up, and depending on how much silver you can realistically make in a day, it can be much faster too.

Not even sure why people complain, like, I bought all my PEN armor and weapons way before this new method came out. Got a PEN every month to a month and a half. New players can get a PEN in significantly less time, less planning, less temptation to spend silver, and is done in a linear "step 1, 2, 3" process. So it's cheaper, faster, and easier, yet some players still complain? I am thoroughly confused by these negative posts about this method --- it's so braindead easy!!!

You should be converting PEN Tuvala to these unsellable TET's.

You cannot sell Tuvala anyway.

Converting a sellable TET to this method is not ideal, IMO, especially since they made getting PEN Tuvala way easier this Season+.

And I'm not sure what's so "unclear".  Did you read the patch notes, or any of the previews for this method?  It's stated everywhere you won't be able to sell the converted TET's.  Over two months ago, when this was first announced, it was clearly stated, by the patch notes, and even by community content creators like Chirs_Poli and Anders, that you WONT be able to sell them (not like you can sell Tuvala anyway).

Bruh.  This community sometimes, I swear -_- if you don't get things for absolutely free, you cry.  If you aren't hand-held to end-game, you cry.  The game then gives you virtually free FULL TET GEAR through Seasons.  Then the game gives you a linear path with clear guidelines to get PEN guaranteed.  And people still complain about stuff.

Yeah - and to whoever downvotes my comments, downvote this one too.  I'll give you a head start and downvote this myself.  Bunch of ingrates.

I have plenty of blackstones, almost all of the ingerdients are obtainable but as said the magical shards are what will prevent me from going this way. I melted all the bmc I had and still have next to none. I am pretty sure that you cannot buy magical shards on the cm but you can perhaps get the bmc from there if lucky. I have already decided I will not be bothering, in fact I find myself playing less and less these days and doubt that I have what it takes to grind for hours and hours when I do not grind.
This system is great for those that can play for several hours per day running in circles but it is no help to me at all. Good luck to everyone else.

PS this is not me complaining it is just me stating facts as they pertain TO ME.

Sorry to hear that.  When it comes to BMC acquisition, and almost everything else in this grinder game, it'll require some effort.  But the items are there, and methods of aquiring BMC's are straight-forward = farm them up manually, or purchace them raw from CM.

You can do it, if you found some motivation, or even a purpose in gearing up.  That's something only you can figure out, though, at the end of the day...the "reason".

If you don't really have a reason, or purpose, to gear up, then...yeah, I can't really blame you for having no interest.  Good thing it's a permanent addition and no time limit to when you need to finish it.  So maybe in the future, when you feel like undertaking this, it'll be available to you.

For me, I plan to make a PEN Nouver mainly, and the other items as optional.  I can sell my current Nouver and make, hopefully, around 2 billion silver from the sale.  Not much, but it's almost free, so why not, I figure.  This method will allow me to steadily make a PEN Leebur's and Muskan's for a secondary Evasion build on the side (though my main DR build will get Caphra's priority), but probably will hold off until I can get full C13 on my armor.  I like gearing up in BDO.  Feels good.  Kinda like making gains IRL, getting a raise at work, saving up money and buying that shiney new GPU, car, or something...accomplishing goals feels great, and to me, that's essentially what BDO is --- a game of setting, and accomplishing, goals.  We have different goals and that's OK!  This is just more things to knock out of the park, the way I see it, and I welcome this rewarding (and linear) challenge.

PS --  IDK if this helps, but just know there isn't a time limit to when you need to finish this.  It's all on your own time.  So, if getting PEN does interest you at all, and if you ever find the interest to do this content, you can set some small goals to steadily make your way.  You could set a daily goal for yourself to farm mobs for 1 hour a day.

For example, say you farm at Centaurus, one hour a day.  Centaurus can make you about 150 - 200 million silver an hour (roughly) selling everything except for BMC's.  With 150 million, you can buy about 30 BMC's, so you could theoretically calculate you make 30 BMC's an hour.  Divide the amount of Magical Shards you need by 30, and boom, that's the number of hours (roughly) you need to farm Centaurus, if mob grinding will be all you do.  And if you grind for one hour a day, that number is the amount of days it'll take to get the Magical Shards you need.

It can help give you a clearer picture on the amount of time you'll be farming mobs, and can help you set some realistic goals on your path to PEN.  Farming mobs is one example, you could do this by lifeskilling as well, using your lifeskill profits to purchase the BMC's you need :) If you have any questions, or want some insight on anything, advice, or even just my opinion (if you care for it lol), please LMK!  I love seeing people progress in gear, and heck, if it helps you acheive a goal, even if it's something that's kinda.. "ehhhh nahhh", I'm more than happy to help, in any way I can.

As Peace aptly said with details, if time isn't an issue then magical shards obviously aren't an issue either.

There was always going to be an issue with available mats given this new method, PA still clearly want this game to be a marathon and not a sprint whilst trying to retain players in an ageing  game. It's not crazy to think they will add new ways to obtain or adjust drop rates on some of these mats in the coming months.
