Hello to the CMs, who read this. My suggestion is to remove the capability for self-liking/disliking posts. Before this was implemented I mean this new feature(kind of), this wasn't possible. Thanks beforehand.
There are many issues with this system. Fairest fix is to allow a mouse over that shows who voted what (responsibility for you actions).
This will point out self voting and voting attacks (when people down vote all of an acounts post without reading them)
I’m sure some will disagree, because they like to hide behind anonymity, gives them the opportunity to bully and not be called out
If mods and researcher are not using the system to see which post to examine, Then it should be removed all together, has no benefit to the forum users because, if you like a post or disagree with it, you can post and engage… if you can’t take the time to do that, then you didn’t really have any feeling either way and just wanted to click. It’s a gimmick, trying to be redit?
I don't think I would even label it as "exploit" cause I don't think the amount of votes makes a difference in the weight of the Suggestion. If the suggestions on this forum are even considered.
I personally like the function of just downvoting someone who comments on every single post with negativity and somehow still sticks around even though they obviously hate the game just to get in an argument just for their final post to be "I am happy I got you all mad (:"
Or just downvote ideas I disagree or wouldn't like implemented. Can't even say why cause people think it's a personal attack. Offtopic discussion ensues, which would just wrongly bump their thread up.
Or upvoting a post with which I agree, but have nothing else to input.
If anything, editing a post to bump your thread should be the thing considered an exploit.
You didn't understand me. I also welcomed the feature of like/dislike system. But you can also like or dislike your own posts.
I think one vote here or there, either way isn't really an issue. I'm not sure how it could be. It certainly doesn't effect us as forum users in any way.
The best way to fix this is one vote per a MAC address. No matter how many accounts try to vote from said machine. Only after the first one vote the system don't accept anymore. Also make it so unlinked accounts can not vote or post on forums. FFXIV does these and guess what. Trolling over there is close to zero if not zero.
But honestly who cares about this votting system. When it's just as corrupt as Reddit and 4chan systems. This system allows some people to multi vote with multiple accounts that don't even have the game.
