This may sound like a rant or someone complaining that they didn't get what they want, but I am frustrated to the point I am not spending money anymore on BDO. The current Black Friday Sale is awesome and they have so many great deals and items, and the presentation is wonderful. But sadly, I am refusing to spend any more money on BDO.

First reason, is my horse that I accently deleted and I requested it to be returned and was told I was going to get it back but then was told NO (ticket number 155429). I spent alot of time and effort to get that horse to corsair to go for dream attempts and I had at least 24 fails on the horse. Just to be told sorry we didn't make something clear in the NEW PROGRESSION PASS and you are out of luck. Things like that make me believe that streamers get better support for their tickets. All over YouTube and Reddit there is so many cases of streamers getting extra support. And to get an automated response to something that deeply bothered me and I admitted I made the mistake, and to be told yes, "yes you can have your horse back and then be told no,"  just bothered me too no end.

Next is all of the beta style preseason war (node war and siege), it is crap that we have to test this system on live servers, and have it constantly changing i.e. 1 week 100 member wars than next week 50 member wars, next capped node wars, siege may or may not be happening, we have had 3 sieges turned off in the past few months. That is just a few examples. But beta testing the only end game content is not keeping the end game community engaged and happy. Now we are going to have 150 member alliances, what happens if guilds spilt or forms bounds to make this work, only for that to be turned off in the next patch? Most of the community agrees Siege and NW is only a small portion of the player base and I understand that this may not effect everyone the same. But to some people that is why we play the game.

Next reworks, I play Zerker, and PA is completely changing its play style making it more playable on console which is just unfair to PC players (my honest opinion is the reworks is just to make every class usuable on console because their technology cannot do what a mouse and keyboard can i.e. grab cancels, combos and q buff}. Removing Q Buff spam, removing a Grab, punishing grabs for all classes with one (if you miss your dead). Q buff and Grab is the core and identity of zerker and I absolutely agree that they needed to be changed, and where OP. Succession is also getting completely changed and from watching streamers they are saying parts of the kit do not even work properly (Beastly Wind Slash) and will probably be a PVE only spec. Which I thought was the point of rewords, to not make parts of classes one aspect only (sorry Shais).  My problem is I requested access to test Zerker on global labs so I can see for myself what these changes are. And I was told NA support cannot help, contact global labs support, global labs support cannot be used unless you have access. So back to NA support and they told me the same thing again ticket number 156750. So how can I as a concerned user of Zerk experience the changes that is coming to my ?

Next, I feel like the direction of BDO is to push out veterans, PEN dailies, guaranteed PENs, and streamlined quest. I agree that things needed to be changed to let new players enjoy and access the game. But capping all of the sieges but one and capping node wars is just frustrating for the player that dn't get any of that. I got my gear the hard way, I enhanced all of my pens myself. Yes, I spent real money to help with that, but why should I do that anymore. PA doesn't care about me as a player or what makes me happy in this game. If PA d, they wouldn't restrict the content I enjoy and they wouldn't gut my Zerk and turn it into a chubby archer. Where is PAs thank you to the veteran community that had to suffer through the horrible enhancement system, which was so bad we had to make it easier for new players. Again, I find it refreshing to see so many new players and so many new guilds forming. And I am happy they don't have to waste time and money on a craptastic enhancement system.

I didn't want to make this post but the GM that responded to me twice said the only way I was going to get assistance with my issues was via the forums, so sorry for the long rant.

TL;DR I am not spending anymore money on BDO. I have supported this game happily, because I believed in Pearl Abyss, the QOL changes, talking to the community and  all made me want to support BDO. And I would continue to do so but everything that has happened, losing my horse, beta testing NW and Siege, denied access to global labs, and an unknown timeline of when reworks are going to be finished and what are they going to be, I just can't spend anymore on BDO.  

Isn't zerker is one of the few classes that actually got buffed with the reworks?

IMO I never cared about the idea that others don't need to work for what I had to work for in a game because it is never about other people but your own enjoyment in a game. Because of this, I can never be upset if suddenly something I worked hard for becomes easy to obtain later on. I learned this after playing MMORPGs for well, as long as they existed really (yay i'm old-ish).

To that end, I don't think that giving away freebies like this is a good way to retain people into the game because it's essentially bribibng people and making things worth less in a game overall. What this all really mean is that whenever BDO has freebies, it means there's a problem and admittedly so. Instead of actually fixing the problem, they throw money at people in hopes they'll throw a blind eye, but that's not what really happens in the end.

BDO has a great amount of work put into it but the director of this game clearly does not know how to do his job properly. After all these years, they can't fix core problems plaguing this game. They will continue to milk it for their investors but eventually the money cow will run dry. Only then will they release crimson desert, an eventual replacement to this game which I'm sure they will make it their new cash cow and forget about this game.

This is only speculation but if you want to compare BDO to FF14, we can. Yoshi P. is the creative director and genius behind the game. FF14 failed miserably on its launch and Yoshi P. was asked to take over. They basically rebuilt the game and rebranded it from the ground up and had 2 years to do it. They nailed it and they did such an amazing job that it eventually became the "WoW killer". Well, technically the managers at Blizzard shot themselves in the foot but FF14 is the new WoW, not BDO even though I'm sure that's what they hoped to accomplish.

But why is FF14 so good if it doesn't have the depth of combo mechanics? Because the battle system is well thought out and it's not just random numbers or battle effects. It also has a very clear vision from start to finish and you feel that as a player where progression really has an impact.

BDO is BDO. It lacks that vision and as harsh as these criticisms may be, they are meant well. People have moved on from crappy mobile RNG mechanics and want something tangible. Leveling a character only to need to level another character means that people don't feel immersed in the game or have a connection with said character. Their main is now divided into multiple characters which isn't good long-term.

I don't know how a company with so much money can seemingly do almost nothing to a game and keep pushing away vets at the same time. It feels hollow and there's no amount of freebies that will keep vets in the game. At some point vets will only login for the dailies, then those will become a chore and they'll just stop logging in altogether.

I have a 4 page list of things they can improve for ocean content alone. I never posted it but the fact that one part of a game can use a 4 page list just on improvements to balance andn fix is pretty sad. I have little hope left that they will turn it around. I'm expecting them to just kinda let this one go and start over with crimson because this game is broken to the core.

There are zealots who'll defend every bad point about this game to the end but to me, I think being able to admit the flaws and to suggest them to be fixed is a great step forward to having a better game to play for years to come. But, it's only a step forward if the developers are willing to take them into account and make changes. Of course, not all suggestions can be put into a game but they need to at least have a vision and stick with said vision instead of being all over the place.

They seem like they are trying to take people's voices into account now, after years of sitting on the cash cow. I want BDO to succeed and I certainly put a lot of money into this dream but at this point the only thing I can do is wait until one day, hopefully, they fix at least the core issues with the game that pushes people away.

For any CM/GM reading this, I may seem like a debby downer by being harsh with my criticism but my words are true to the heart that I want this game to flourish for years to come and with that said, sometimes a little bit of tough love is enough to motivate devs to give that extra push. We all want BDO to be the best MMORPG, so please carry our voices like we carry your game. We all share the same dream after all.

we all want pa to win but they need to communicate with the community more via cms gms or top streamers. it pains me to see people unhappy with the game. maybe they dont have the money to hire more people to work on bdo idk?  

You're right. Pearl Abyss is a small indie company with 6 people working on the game, 5 which are GMs and CMs. /s

They made over a billion dollars in revenue many years ago. Who really knows how much they made so far but I'm sure BDO mobile is even more of a cash cow than PC. They have a huge staff and it's so big that they built the biggest gaming development studio in korea, or are in the process of building. They make a lot of cash, lots and lots of cash. They made so much money from this game that they thought it was a good idea to sell bughatti costumes (not give away, but sell) and mount outfits to players which may I add that there's only a handful of bughattis made per year and they are worth millions each.

I'm not sure how that makes sense as a in-game collab but I guess there are players that spend ridiculous sums of money in this game for them to make this collab to happen. lol
