I've turned my effects and settings to absolute maximum to make the the lights on the stones more visible  

I'm colorblind, so two of them look identical to me  

The quest text leading up to this point has told me that the goal seems to be to match colors with elements of a face - heaven, hair, eyes, lips. I can see a cloud of light hovering above the central stone, but only if my camera points at the correct angle, it becomes invisible otherwise. I am unsure if this cloud of light hovering in the center has any significance. 

Then, no matter what stone i interact and chat with, it says "It appears the positions have changed." Is that good or bad? Am I supposed to take any meaning from this feedback? If I accidentally click "interact" again, does that break the puzzle? 

I do not understand the feedback that this puzzle is giving me. I have no sense of whether I am doing something right or wrong. 
  
Sometimes, one stone will glow extremely brightly with a very large pillar of light. But I do not know what this means, what it is trying to tell me, or what triggers this to occur. 
 
I always knew I wasn't very smart with puzzle-solving and logical thinking but I was hoping I'd at least understand the question that the puzzle is trying to ask me.

But I did not understand the solution either. I just followed it and it worked, but still don't understand the puzzle on any level. 

The quest is bugged somehow, was not able to click on stone in the middle before I forfeit it and start from the scratch.

problem is the same as with the puzzle in the dungeon.

the other players that spam the stones, will mess up everyone elses and their own quest.

No one knows what this task is about and YT solutions don't work.

Also as you said: the two colors are almost identical.

I finished it, but how: I don't know. Probably solution: if you put the right light in the right pillar, a ray of light will appear on it. Don't touch him again. Keep touching others in turns until rays appear on all pillars.

Problem: if other player touch fillar he mess your combination.

First swap to a channel with no one else in that location. I found Ser1 empty. Start with one stone pilar and see if you can get the big beam of light to sprout. Notice that the color of the light will swap with the stone pilar next to it. In my case that was with the pilar to my right. If neither color sprouts a light beam on the first pilar, move one to the right and try again. Once a pilar sprouts a light beam, leave it alone and move to the right. This seems to have worked for me.

This.  There was someone on season Arsha earlier who was camped out there being "helpful" whenever anyone started the puzzle.  Uh - duel for puzzle?

I forfit the quest with that quest item still in my inventory, i then swaped servers to one that was NOT a season or growth server.

This allowed me to activate the lights, I then went to the first one on the right, talked to it once, went to the second one to the right, talked once and then went to the third one, talked once and waited a few seconds - flash of light then talked to the middle stone.

It finally worked this took me 3 hours to work out, good luck fam.
