We are aware of that, but it dosent change that having a "dead class" in this game, is a bad sign for the game itself. And can lead to a very bad new player experience.

The class is not advertised at all with how she is right now or was treated since she was released. The Hompage says its a normal combat class with healing and protection abilitys: "Shais are a support class that has both combat and buff abilities. They have good basic evasion and are fast and nimble when evading and attacking their enemies. The main weapon of Shais is the giant boomerang, florang, which is used for combat. A mystical sub-weapon, vitclari, is used to heal and protect Shais and their allies.

"You can argue beeing classified as "Combat Style: Support", means this class dosent gets developer support, but that would be a hard stratch for a new player to assume. The awakening weapon isnt even classified as only Support, its "Melee Mage" as well.

When a new player asked you what class to play, and you say pick what looks fun to you, but you have to ad "except shai". And you can not explain why other then "the class was put in, is terrible bad, and the developer and a part of the conummity dosent want it to be fixed."

And dont get me started on why Shai is the worst starting class.

I never experienced something like that in any game, EVER, dosent matter if mmo or not. And i always play support or quirky classes when i have the option to do.

Strange int it? They put the new nerfs on g-labs for test… really? Do you think they are listening to what people say about the changes, or is it an empty gesture to say, ‘we let you test it’.

Silly little games PA, don’t impress me. They don’t treat us well (Dev team that is ,CMs are okay, and they cant do much about this :P) , they don’t seem to think we deserve respect because they know best right ?

Anyway, been confusion over where I stand, so I took the time to clear it up as best as I can, with my limited language abilities. Yeah its 10 mins long, but if people are going to comment on my position, at least know what it is (they ready here, and comment outside on different platforms, that’s why I’ve posted it)

Addition: not that the devs play the game (This is clear);

Seasonal is the perfect place for me to collect evidence of the issues I have raised. I can run full pen and all the extra, meaning I either out-gear or am equal to anyone I encounter.

We will get to see shai fighting for a spot or to retain one (maybe, hard to find people sometimes). We well get to see if I out skill them and lose on a shai because she is non pvp... then we can consider, is it fair that PA reduce shai OP PVE in any way, when PVE is shai gift, pvp is theirs. (just lost a spots, that's a Zero trash hour, remember that, ZERO, fun fight though :P)

Disgusting that the devs don’t know their own game to this level of incompetence, but I hope at least people that misunderstood my point, about shai OP pve, and why it is okay, will finally understand... and get over being wrong and get on board at last.

PA is panicking over some high end spot they didn’t make correctly. That is their error (not ours as players, been buying what they sold us, they are chaning it!), they did not update there engine to handle that content (monster side De-buff limiting/capping) This is on the Lead devs hands, they have let Pear abyss and the player base down, they should have to explain thierself (and don’t delete my post because of that, that is fact, disagree mods? Argue the point; don’t just abuse your position).

They are ripping into shai as a brutal fix, a lazy and low skill band aid.

It’s a shame, that I wanted to do a trailer for shai, and ‘why shai’ as a new play.. I can not for now.

But I can collect these fights and show that PA have an issue and that maybe people should know this before joining the game or any MMO type game under the same team (only fair, cus PA don’t tell us how it is, they use PR and Spin, business :P)

This issue is'nt a shai issue, but a lazy development practice, and we have to wonder where PA priorities lie.

The bs they give us in patch noted about shai being this and that, and wanting to achieve.. blah blah..

Let me translate that for the gamer. PA:

We didn’t think ahead, we dun goofed and now we are scrabbling to do damage control.

We don’t have any actual plans on how to fix as we didn’t put in contingencies.

We are not going to be truthful with our player base as this would not be good for business and may put people off the game/investing in game content at this time.

The best we can do is reduce its impact and draw out our content as best as we can..

by first nerfing the class that had the biggest advantage (regardless of its designated position of none pvp), then going after every other class along the way…

We have run out of ideas and all we have is new grind spots.

We have used all we had in reserve…e.g AOS, musical shais, Dokev portable asset, we have nothing left to offer our player base (apart from dwarf), so we are in a panic.

  Please don’t see our issues, please don’t look at me!!! I just wanna keep my job as long as I can, and your game? Meh :P

You see,.. don’t forget PA and their staff, they are just people like me and you (respect them as such, well maybe a bit better than you do, me). They have the same fears. And fear, panic, can lead you down the wrong path.. If only they would listen? But I fear they are too embarrassed to own their mistakes, and that’s damaging for BDO :(

But when you are that afraid, that you have messed up that bad, you wil do anything to cover it up.. after all what you got to lose?

This thread still having all classes tagged on it says a lot about this forum.

Shai is a support character. It makes logical sense that all classes are tagged. This discussion benefits everyone.

Shai used to be very strong a long time ago but after they nerf evasion: a whole stat in the game; this affected every player who wasn't DR at the time.

It was especially painful for Shai because our viability to survive in node war was destroyed and we weren't given any way to defend ourselves. 

Then they nerf some more stuff, give us a skill to have longer songs, then nerf the songs again, then give us a surfboard and a furry animal mount, then nerf again, and again because support role has no place in a 95% solo 5% group game at all! Especially if the support cannot solo pvp!!!!!

Then we get to one of the Core issues. 

They can change all the classes, give out exchange coupon, sell exp/sp ones, have special WT and inv sales around the same time, and everyone can reroll awaken weapon but Shai.

Here is the summary.

PA: we have Shai it's great for beginners, you have pro one gathering and alchemy xD enjoy. However you need to realize you can't change easily with our beginner class but we don't tell you because we want you to play a different class, buy inv, buy WT, buy artisan for pen weapon enhancement, get desperate and buy costume for crons etc

To be honest the very existence of Shai can probably be turned into a class action lawsuit if the right countries (mostly in EU) and a good lawyer is involved. Predatory sales tactics are illegal in some countries.

The only way PA can prove that Shai among other classes are not intentionally nerfed for sales is to make tagging and or rerolling absolutely free forever. Then the discussion is "we made some adjustments, hope you like it, if not here play another class".

Until that happens. I'm calling scam tactics.

PA isn't stupid, they are really smart. Especially the marketing and revenue generation departments. 

Help expand the bigger issues here, and why PA have it so wrong :( PA.. You wanted feedback, you haven’t gone live with changes yet.. If you do, you are ignoring what i have put forward? sure you don’t have to listen to one video, but you will have openly ignored what was said in front of the BDO community, so we all get to see  and record your actions, that is just a fact that you created and not me.

Either you disagree with my position or you are ignoring my position because you are unwilling to change your plans and asking for feedback is an empty gesture when it comes to shai class.

so correct... haven’t go over the marketing stuff (yet) because that is a can of worms for PA and maybe not in  away people understand (yet). But we will see if PA listens to us or not. Balls in their court.

Also i like the direction I think they are gonna go (haven’t talked about that yet), and shai is a tool for that, but they forget, the players are not their assets to mess around.. Players didn’t play shai as they wanted, they need to adjust (4 year plan), they acted like they were going too.. now they are stepping back hard!

Not to mention if we go thru the various amendments to the terms of use for the game we will notice we forgo any and all claims in a legal manner. 

Basically you play the game and log in you agree they can do whatever they think will make you pay more. 

And nothing we can do unless an actual country bans them 

Even then it's a ban not something that can be easily litigated unless it's a major market share area that would make a big impact on users. 

(For example if the USA banned BDO it would greatly affect the revenue and thus force the company to negotiate for that region)

Anyways yea anybody who rolled a Shai got played hard since day one.

There are some outright lies that did happen but they were on a personal level and not company (e.g. not official capacity).

Pa is just being a business, that’s okay, I can work with that :) and TOS will be along the lines of ‘it is, as is’ so this is all expected.

But shai is very important to BDO, especialyl where they wanna take things next from what I can tell.

So they may need to work with the shai player base and not just walk all over them?

Who knows, may fail, may work.. not tying would be the worst :( and its only PA reputation at play
