I've been working off and on for the past month on my little Lahn, and am closing in on the end of the grind. She's 60, almost done with the season pass, and 10/13 pen.

However, over the past 3 days I have tried repeatedly to enhance the Tuvala neck past TET with absolutely no joy. I have a stack of over 100 - so, roughly an 85 percent chance to succeed from tet to pen - and have failed to hit it on five consecutive necklaces. And yes, I a) know there are people who enhance the accessories without any failstacks at all (bless their resilient hearts); and I b) know there are far, FAR more arduous, uphill enhancements in BDO than some stupid Tuvala gear.

Let's stop for a second though. While some of you might argue that a) and b) defeat my argument, I'd rather contend that they make my case thoroughly: this is freaking dumb. An 85 percent chance to succeed on what amounts to worthless, unsellable pity loot with a massively-boosted base enhancement chance, and I still fail five times in a row? Sure, RNG is RNG, but at a macro level... nothing about this is fun. I'm not having a good time with the system: even when I have succeeded over the years, I don't feel joy - just relief that I haven't been brutalized again.

And before someone says it, I'm not raging. I haven't uninstalled or deleted my characters or done some other rash thing. I'll still log in tomorrow, grind out more stupid ore, get another neck to IV, and - the divine willing - hit pen.

But I won't look back on the experience fondly - I won't be nodding to myself knowingly about sticktoitiveness or personal resolve. No, rather, I will quietly pocket the necklace and return to selling every single caphras stone, black stone, black shard, memory fragment, etc., etc., until they close the servers down.

Because enhancement is terrible. And I'd rather pay out the nose for a sure thing than make this temporary frustration a major part of my Black Desert experience. Let someone else roll those dice. I'll buy what they build.

I agree.  Enhancement blows.  I buy everything or use the guaranteed pen quests.

When Corsair was the newest class last year, I also had a struggle with the Tuvala necklace. What I did was failstacking up to 50-60. The first goal I did was to keep my own accessories to TRI or TET until I was abundant on tuvala ore. Once I had like thousands, I began ehancing 2-3 at a time. And back then I never believed only the tuvalla neck would make me spend around 2000 tuvala ore. But I eventually got to the goal. And this was before tuvala became easier to enhance.

In the latest seasons I began to believe that I can never break my own record. Still... RNG is RNG. I've made my current season char full PEN tuvala by keeping myself to my own "enhancing doctrine", since it was successful. I've learned from my own mistakes in the distant past. 4 times in a row I get a full PEN tuvalla char nearly effortlessly.

If they don't want to get rid of the RNG enhancement, there could've been other ways to improve it. So far none of the changes made did anything good to boost the enhacement odds or motivation. *shrug*

Last season I didn't manage to make a single tet tuvala accessory so I gave it up.

Why would you use such thicc failstacks on tuvala accessories? What I do every time is use yellow accessory matching failstacks. PEN tuvala would be 44fs since it's matching TRI yellow stat-wise. Click few times if it doesn't go save it or click something worth clicking. Tuvala accessories are not really worth the effort imo. Move on if you don't get a piece easily.

You are better off buying items than enhancing without a strategy.  If you have a good strategy you don't end up loosing money when enhancing.

This the real problem people are ignorant how to build failstacks when stop tapping on a stack and to switch to a different stack.

i fucking love enhancing and building big stacks. But if you don't do it smartly you will run out of materials and potential be worse than when you started.

Enhancing is gambling. People like the thrills of failure and success after many failures. It's addictive. It should be illegal under EU regulations but anyways. It's one of the bad aspects of BDO.

I stopped enhancing a while back and have been enjoying the game much more ever since.

Why wouldn't you if you don't care about enhancing?  It's not like you can sell those stacks on the MP.

If you like gambling, that's fine. Do your thing, optimize your stacks. Roll your dice.

If you don't like gambling, use your 100 stack on a PEN Tuvala neck and get your season stuff done.

It's a game. Let people play how they want it.
