I had over time slowly purchased the items necessary from the central market to eventually exchange with Dora Fonti and now they cannot be exchaned because of an update made on July 6. RNG doesn't like me with drops / boxes so it's the only way I can be "lucky". Believe me, I have spent countless hours trying to get a single one of these elusive items only to fail. Imagine trying to get it to duo or tri.

I just bought the last item: Duo Necklace of the Shultz so I have everything except I don't because I can't exchange them. I wasted over a billion silver on these and tons of time. The necklace was about 350mil alone. Tri blue color earrings was close to 500mil. a month or two ago which is when I bought it (was in line with hundreds of others). What the shutlz!

I'm very casual, it takes an eternity to raise that kind of capital on top of everything else I have to buy. I was happy to have finally raised enough funds for the shultz necklace to finish everything. =(

Edit: Just want to mention that there is a long line for these items in the central market, thousands sometimes. You can't submit the items ahead of time either, so if you get an item on page 5 but don't have the item for page 1, you can't do anything yet. At this rate, they can change it again before submitting all items.

Even "better" are those in alchemy, which give you a few caphrases. One small problem: the cost of the ingredients needed to make these thousands of elixirs and oils exceeds the value of the capras that you get.

Just for future reference it's a good idea to keep up with the global labs as they're basically a preview to what will come 2 weeks in advance. This change was listed on the global lab 2 weeks prior to the update so you could have easily canceled your neck preorder

Normally I would but I was taking a 2 month break because BDO kept kicking me down. Plus shai nerf really pissed me off so I wasn't sure if i was coming back.

Exactly my point. It's not easy to get billions, it's also not easy to get hundreds of millions for most people too. It's not like everyone spends their evenings playing BDO. You have to spend billions on the books, you have to spend billions on equipment, billions here, billions there... It adds up.

My complaint was more of a suggestion for future changes because people like me who get very excited to see 1billion silver in their account and spends half of it on a pre-order and gets it while taking a break, only to come back and having it have no purpose is bad. It takes a lot of time to get those accessories, even if you open 600 unknown belts, you might only get 1 or 2 and it takes forever to do. Grinding takes even longer. The Pre-order is over a thousand last i checked for DUO alone.

Basically, they never made this kind of change before and all of a sudden it happened. It would have been nice to at least have a grace period where you could exchange the old items or have a NPC vendor to swap the necklace to a belt.  I managed to buy the alt accessories and I'm just missing the belt which I'm now at like 800 mystery belts. I only got 2 from them. It would go faster if the belts would stack lol... It wouldn't have been as bad if this book didn't require you to submit things in a specifc order, all other books I think don't have this requirement.

Hope Pearl Abyss looks at this as feedback to consider more appropriate / considerate changes in the future.

Yes, it's a good idea to keep up with GL updates. I'm glad I've completed these journals and didn't follow guildie advices to wait for POs. The neck took 2-3h of grinding, and the rest of the accessories afair got from blacksmith rng boxes. 🤣
