So with the release of recent classes, new classes are being provided with certain "unique" passives that matches the class' theme (unsure of the official name). Things like; Shai getting instant Professional Gathering and Alchemy. Hashashin being able to move faster through the desert. Sage having free access to certain grind zones like Kratuga Ancient Ruins. Corsair and her specialized swimming abilities. Nova and Drakania have some class-specific passive things as well and I believe there are other classes that have these cool things. This goes along with each class having 2 passives that must be assigned skill points to directly impact combat, but these "unique" passives are built-in to the class itself.
It just seems appropriate that every class have something like this. Non-game-breaking passives that make the class cooler and more unique, without giving it a major upper hand. Maybe something like: Sorc, during night time hours, is able to channel dark energy to teleport to the nearest city / town with a cooldown, similar to Traveler's Map. Tamer is able to ride Heilang with an auto-path, buff Heilang's speed a bit. Valkyrie is able to gain Elion's blessings to shine light in dark areas without needing a Fairy. Et cetera. Rough ideas straight off the dome, but you get the picture.
You love all your classes equally, don't you, PA? You must, this is your game! We understand you do class balancing changes, which we all hope you continue being diligent about. But it's about time to show all classes some love by giving all of them a unique, thematic, "thing-only-they-can-do" too, like you give the new classes.
I like the idea for more classes to get this, yes. All if possible.
But only when done right. I still don't like how Corsair is only a marginally better swimmer and crippled by stamina soon enough like everyone else. I'd prefer if her stamina took loads longer to deplete, if not it being infinite in the ocean, like with hash's desert running. There is shockingly little point to using a MERMAID in the water. And her phasing in and out of mermaid form while swimming is annoying too. It's awfully disappointing, especially since I've wanted a mermaid class since the first time I dove into the water (which was in 2016).
I don't understand why different classes have different passives in the first place. If you want to main Tamer or Wizard or Shai. Whoever you want to main, why do you have to be penalized for it if you don't care about swimming faster or gathering for combat exp? Passives should be available to all classes but you can only pick from a list instead. If your character is a life skiller, then you could pick lifeskill passives. If your character is full DPS, then pick more damage related passives etc.... But even though all passives are available for every character, you are limited to only the branch that you pick. You might be tempted to say that it doesn't make a difference, the BiS will always be BiS but again, it depends on what you want that extra edge for and can change as long as you have the skill change buff--which is what? Blessing I think? IDK I activate all 3 when i know i can play a lot.
Just an alternative thought process, to some it might be a weird idea but it might be a good idea who knows?
its funny that u mention that, PA announced that they will give those "unique passives" to all older classes. That announcement was a year ago during a calpheON/Heidel Ball and was linked to the class reboots.
