As I've been practising drawing water lately, it just seemed appropriate to draw a water dragon for this event. The Asian myths about dragons also tend to describe them as water creatures, buut I did still want to include the wings on this one (- and yes, it was ofc a requirement in the event info). Obvious inspiration from the mythology is also included on the mane and fin parts, along with the extra long body, and the sea creaturish colourings of the drakania Lethena outfit.

Speshal thanks to Uni for giving much needed advice on colours and such I always stress about. :D Enjoy my dragon, let's call her Lethena.

Edit: Btw thanks PA for making the forum much easier to post higher quality pictures to. <3

Good thing you didn't try to reproduce BDO's Remastered lighting in the picture, or it would've been a messy cocktail of bright yelloes and reds, ruining the beauty of this majestic creature.

On a side note, though, who stole the hilt and pommel of drakania's sword? ^.^

Thank you for kind words, i'm always happy to help even with a small advice/opinion! Also damn, i still remember your first drawing posted here and first magazine win, all i can say is: "holy smokeys". You improved so much since then, now every time im about to throw my share on drawing u send me i first gotta stare at it and just have a moment to admire.

Great idea and lore behind a drawing. I love that the dragon structure doesn't suddenly end but continues in the background, giving an idea that this creature belongs in the sea. Sharp lines and strong colors, good balance. I bet water took a long time as well. And of course, the always amazing small details like water dropping from the dragon.

Fantastic work and i wish u best luck in the competition! ♡(・ヮ・♡) Uni

My lazyness did. :)

And thanks Uni, I do have a long way to go, ain't that long since I started drawing in colour. :P And yes, let's just say I had to look up much more reference pictures of water and splashes than dragons...
