dont get why its difficult tbh- technically the max character slot isn't 28 as there are trial characters that share all the bonuses as regular character so it's already considered part of the "family", granted theyre in a seperate screen on the character selection and not included in character change.

shouldnt be hard to include a second page in char select like trial characters

If you are not a new player you aren't really supposed to play seasons.

What about gear for boss alts?

The decent rewards for completing the season?

The seasonal + capped PvP?

I don't care about it costing money as long as you can always use loyalty to get a slot but I don't see why we need to restrict the amount of characters.  I've played since the start and each season I end up having to delete a character because I have max slots The benefits of season allow me to gear alts that would otherwise just sit around collecting dust but I hate having to delete one every season.

More character slots = more data to store and search through which is not good for game performance I would imagine. So no I don't think adding a character slot every season is reasonable.

Im capped at 28 for various reasons, keeping chars in major cities for storage purposes (not really a thing after magnus tho), boss alts, lifeskill alts and some other random stuff, and i do every single season as well by just maintaining 1 slot for specifically season char (not doing season because youre not new i will say is a wildly stupid argument, you get craploads of stuff useful for any level of progression).

I would like to have an additional slot per season, but if PA specifically says thats not really viable i mean its not the end of the world, if i really wanted to get everything out of the stuff you get from season thats not account wide (inv slots and stuff like that) i could just keep deleting the chars that have the basic inv slots, not like im forced to delete characters that have a bunch of stuff on them (and i refuse to believe anything except the tiniest margin of people have weight and slots etc on literally all 28 characters).

...Deleting characters also erases the completed quest count..

Is this for real???

Lot of people in here asking for more character slots but it seems that's not a real solution. So let me propose one.

Allow a non-season character to once again become a seasonal character. Their xp, inventory, weight etc become frozen until the character graduates again. The character basically walks into a time vault and you get a fresh level one of that class. This allows you to play the season normally, but when you graduate you basically walk out of the time vault and your character is the same as he went in, besides all the rewards you got from season.

Obviously this isn't perfect but some constructive solutions rolling that aren't just "ADD MORE SLOTS I DONT CARE HOW THE PROGRAMMING WORKS" might helpt the devs find something.

I like the direction of this solution.  To expand on the suggestion, perhaps when starting a season with an existing character that character's combat/skill xp and quest completions are saved in temporary storage so the character is like a new character while in season in regards to combat/skill and quests in order to properly interact with season (while keeping life skills, breath, strength, etc. unaffected).  Upon graduation, merge the character's new combat/skill and quests with the saved stats from before season.  This would allow keeping any extra levels gained in season past what the character was at and allow keeping quest completions without double counting completions that were done both before season and during season.

Inventory slots could be an issue with this but for which I see two options. 1. Include inventory slots in the saved and merged data while keeping any pearl-acquired inventory slots (is that difference even saved), which would cause major inventory management issues for most players. 2. Edit the quest system (or each individual quest) to not give the character-bound inventory expansion coupons to characters that had previously completed those quests.

And as a lore bonus, they could have the device for an old character to return to season be one of Marni's many quirky inventions. Maybe a handful of quests to ease it into the lore and open the feature to a family (with the limitation of only once per season, which would probably also mean no timepiece either).
