Hello, this is a miscellaneous list of QoL suggestions and oversights/bugs, for things that have plagued the game for a long time. I have collected some of these suggestions from the community. Feel free to post any feedback or other QoL ideas.

Quality of life suggestions

◆ Allow us to filter more notifications, such as workers’ resources obtained, guild members’ achievements, Evil Adventurers felled, alchemy/cooking products, etc.

◆ Allow us to add the consumable Traveler’s Map to the Family Inventory.

◆ Change the silver gained by all characters to be family-wide while it’s in the inventory UI so that it’s not split into various characters, making it far easier to manage. (was added to the game during the update of January 18, 2022)

◆ Allow us to lock a specified amount of silver in our characters’ inventory so that when we deposit silver to the Warehouse, the locked silver doesn’t get deposited. However, the locked silver would still be usable to buy things from NPCs/interactions around the world.

◆ Allow us to use letters instead of numbers to denote thousands (K), millions (M), and billions (B) when withdrawing or depositing items or silver.

◆ Allow us to place the campsite on the road and shallow water. Doing so has no negative effect on the game, and only makes the process of placing the campsite less frustrating.

◆ Add an “instant call” option for calling a horse/mount, forcing the horse/mount to teleport to us immediately upon calling, regardless of how close the mount is to us. This is because the horse/mount often gets stuck in the terrain/other objects or buildings, where it stops moving at an unreachable area, causing it to need multiple calls to be mounted, wasting time. Other times, it tries desperately to reach the player, but obstacles prevent it from doing so, then it ends up teleporting to the player, anyway. Adding an option to always teleport it to us immediately will remove a lot of the time waste and frustration caused by this.

◆ Allow us to exchange energy into energy potions through the Black Spirit.

◆ Reduce the 10 minutes of waiting time for transferring horses between different stables. This restriction serves no purpose other than needlessly delaying the process, and it’s already mostly bypassed by drowning a horse, which only takes one minute.

◆ Prevent Nader’s Band UI from disappearing after an enhancement attempt.

◆ Prevent the inventory from automatically switching to the pearl inventory when applying Advice of Valk’s through the enhancement UI.

◆ Add a toggle option that allows the character to always start with awakening mode active while entering combat stance (unsheathing weapons) through LMB, when awakening combat mode is applied, so that we don’t have to switch manually to the awakening mode (by pressing C) when entering combat stance after logging in, getting off a horse, getting out of the water, or any other scenario that causes not starting with awakening if it’s the active mode.

◆ Add the ability to deposit matching items from the Warehouse into the Storage, similarly to how it’s possible to deposit matching items from Inventory into the Storage.

◆ Add a metric for the total silver value of items in the Warehouse UI, where we can see the current total value of the items we have deposited into the Warehouse, similar to how this feature already exists in storage. Also, allow us to sort items by silver value in the Warehouse/Storage/Inventory.

◆ While riding a horse, allow us to equip gear, open loot boxes, and make other interactions with items in the inventory. Currently, we can't do this and it’s frustrating to experience. (the ability to open loot boxes while on a mount was added during the update of January 11, 2023)

◆ Automatically disable Item Collection Increase Gauge, after five minutes elapsed without attacking any mob, as an additional safeguard against it going to waste.

◆ Add a second row for the active buffs' UI, to be enabled automatically when the number of active buffs' icons exceeds what the first (current) row can display. Presently, the lack of a second row is preventing some icons from displaying.

◆ Reduce the cooldown of adding an enhancement chance of 100+ through Nader’s Band, from 30 seconds to 10 seconds, which should still be more than sufficient to avoid any potential misclicks.

◆ Change Scroll Written in Ancient Language, Forbidden Book, and Ancient Relic Crystal Shard to be stackable in the inventory/storage, similarly to Venomous Night Fang, where they’re converted to scrolls through Simple Alchemy. Also, allow mass conversion of these items through the usage of Black Stone Powder, so that 10 scrolls can be made at a time if sufficient items are available.

◆ Change Olun’s Golem HP bar to appear as a boss HP bar (such as the one fought during Ibedor’s Scroll). This is because its HP bar is currently overridden by the HP bar of other mobs it spawns, making it difficult to see. Giving this monster a boss HP bar will help with better adaptability to its different phases.

◆ Add a new tab in the Quests UI, called “Favorites”, where we can add repeatable quests of interest to it, for ease of access. The Recurring Quests tab is too long now, so tracking quests of interest is tedious. A favorite quests tab could also enable the addition of other features, such as an easier/faster way to know which quests are on cooldown and which are available, and the ability to create custom categories within the tab.

◆ Add a new toggle on/off options for underwear visibility beneath outfits, where the user-selected setting will always visually apply, regardless of the design of the outfit they’re wearing. Also, prevent the Hide Cape option from changing the visibility of underwear beneath outfits (this is currently an issue).

◆ Add a new element to the “My Information” UI, showing the total percentage of the currently applied Exp buffs for Combat, Skill, and Life (similarly to the Item Drop Rate percentage).

◆ Make it so that when reforming accessories/alchemy stone with an add-on (such as Cup of Lone Tide) for items that are already tagged with another character, it will then apply to the tagged character’s accessories/alchemy stone as well.

◆ Remove the condition of health points needing to be full when entering the Marni private grind zone.

◆ Allow us to enter/exit Marni private grind zone while on a mount.

◆ Make it so tamed horses follow closely to the player at a consistent and faster pace, as it can take a while for them to catch up and reach the stable.

◆ Add an “NPC Location” right-click option on a full Marni Stone, to create an auto-path pointing towards the nearest Wacky Toshi NPC for exchange. (was added to the game during the update of December 21, 2022)

◆ Add a way to view the Total Time Played in-game through all characters, even deleted ones. While this feature exists in the Steam version of BDO (through the Steam client), it does not exist in-game, so website users are unable to know how many total hours they have spent in the game.

◆ Allow Bound (Family) items to go into the wagon storage.

◆ Expand the “Find My Item” feature to include searching for items that are in mounts, as it currently doesn’t search in them (wagons/horses/ships, etc.).

◆ Change the way items glow when searched for in storage, to match how they glow in the Warehouse. Currently, the glow is faint and hard to notice, making the process of finding items in storage tedious.

◆ Remove Mass of Pure Magic and Dragon Scale Fossil drop notification. Those items are of relatively low value and unworthy of having a drop notification, especially for Dragon Scale Fossil, where it becomes excessively common to see a notification for it in the Drieghan grind zones.

◆ Disable by default the “Shared” and “War” subcategories of the Alerts category, from the General Settings. The notifications generated from those options are highly disruptive to most players, especially new players, and they provide little to no value to gameplay.

◆ Make it possible to switch to characters of level 1 or above, from the End Game character selection UI. The current restriction of needing level 6 (switch to), and level 5 (switch from), does not serve any beneficial purpose. It only hinders gameplay. (was added to the game during the update of December 21, 2022.)

◆ Allow newly made characters to edit UI from level 1, instead of level 7. The current restriction is counterproductive. (was added to the game during the update of December 21, 2022.)

◆ Add the pet type on the item description of it (Classic/Premium/Rare/Event/Special).

◆ Add a search feature in the Wacky Toshi shop (Marni Stone vendor).

◆ Allow ships with barter goods to access the storage (to transfer the goods) by being near the wharf manager NPC, by introducing new UI buttons appearing on the screen, in the same manner bartering UI options appear, which could also include an option to repair the ship stamina and health.

◆ Add an alternative camera perspective mode when driving a sea mount (boat, ship, etc.), that provides a higher view distance than the current maximum of “camera vision range”.

◆ Allow Energy Potions of all sizes and types to be usable with the Continuous Care Fairy skill auto-use function.

◆ Allow us to rotate between farming crops interaction options (Harvest, Plant Breeding, Kill Pests/Prune, and View Crop Information), in the same manner gathering interaction options were made rotatable, where we can choose which option goes to the available key buttons (R/F5/F6/F7). Different stages of crop growth with two or more options available would need to be rotatable for this change to be effective.

Oversights/Bugs

◆ Fix the issue of Garmoth boss not giving ecology knowledge upon killing during Drieghan's main quest. Alternatively, add the ability to re-obtain Garmoth knowledge from Odelphin NPC (similar to how other world bosses’ knowledge can be obtained from certain NPCs, after gaining amity with them), as it’s currently impossible to regain Garmoth knowledge after deleting it.

◆ Make it possible to re-obtain Mutant Troll and Mutant Ogre ecology knowledge from Herman Feresio NPC, after deleting them, as this is currently impossible, and obtaining this ecology is extremely impractical through other means.

◆ Remove the needless notifications about Item Collection Increase being disabled when exiting a safe zone, although the feature has been disabled all along.

◆ It’s currently impossible to set the fairy Miraculous Cheer auto-potion consumption at 53% or 93%, for both MP and HP.

◆ Allow depositing of Imperial Cooking/Alchemy crates into Storage while having a character tag. This important detail was missed after the update to allow selling these crates to Imperial Crafting Delivery NPC.

◆ When viewing another character’s inventory through the End Game character selection UI, Family-Bound items will incorrectly show as Character-Bound in the item’s description.

◆ While on a non-Nodewar server, when Nodewar starts, a notification is repeatedly displayed, saying: * Attention * PvP Mode is automatically activated in Node/Conquest War zones. This must be changed to have the notification only display in Nodewar servers.

◆ After gaining a new Dark Rift and opening the rift's list, prevent the pop-up message, “Do you feel it? A Dark Rift has torn open!” from appearing again.

◆ Life Skill tools on low durability do not show a warning notification. (was added to the game during the update of December 21, 2022.)

◆ Some NPCs with knowledge already obtained, visually appear as undiscovered.

◆ Horse gear cosmetic customization is currently reset after entering Marni Servers (activities such as RBF, Battle Arena, AoS, and Atoraxxion bosses, will always trigger this bug).

◆ Currently, the knowledge main categories of Character, Life Skill, Learning the Ropes of Black Desert, and Trade are impossible to be displayed as “Obtained”, due to some unobtainable knowledge entries existing within them. Some of these entries are seemingly for future/on-hold content. If deleting them from the game is not an option; a technically feasible solution would be to move these entries to a new, hidden & main knowledge category, where their existence does not prevent the visual completion of the visible main categories.

very good thoughts. the one i feel strongest about might be the immediate awakening stance when initialising combat, if that combat mode is chosen. as a mystic and some costumes hiding her weapons entirely, i find myself switching back and forth by accident a lot.

having said that, one more minor idea: for main/succession users, mounting a horse etc. should be made just as quick as the animation when doing so from awakening combat stance.

This indeed, like when you get out of your horse quickly and enter combat it will always put you in pre awak form. Honestly I sish awakening didn't use succ weapon at all, just like how succ doesn't use the awak weapon.

If you wanna draw awakening weapon from idle or whatever you have to press c or direction+c. I play awakening but I definitely prefer being able to draw pre-awakening weapon instantly. So please don't force the awakening weapon draw from me.

Rest assured, the vast majority of players are well aware of that. It is not about knowing how to switch to awakening, but it's that it's unintuituve, since LMB is the more intuitive way. Could you tell me a bit about the reasonning behind your preference?

Edit: Regardless, I have edited the suggestion now, to include that it would be a toggle option, rather than a forced change.
