OK, this quest is horrific. Everything you do gets in the way of seeing where the priate ships are. Get in *front* of an object, it blocks your view. Why does something BEHIND ME block my forward line of sight (this is, admittedly, everywhere in the game, but it's really bad on a stealth mission like this). Open the Interact window on one of the glowing points ... can't see the pirate ships until you close it. Which leads to another issue: when you *do* find the flare, the message blips on and off screen so fast, you can so very easily miss it. I only actually have seen it once, but I'm pretty sure I've found the flare more than that. Another mechanic that doesn't matter elsewhere, but sure does here ... why, WHY does repeatedly hitting R put you in an endless loop?? When the interaction is done, CLOSE IT. Dive when swimming ... can't see where the ships are. I have far too many times gotten detected as soon as I came to the surface. There's a plank behind you when you do see a ship approaching ... oh, you SIT on it when you hit Q instead of crouching, and you aren't hidden. Seriously, if you insist on putting less than optimal mechanics in a quest, don't make the quest dependant on you having to overcome the faulty mechanics.

Having to repeat something dozens of times because of crappy game mechanics is far from fun, it's just frustrationg. The only possible way to make this even remotely enjoyable is to increase the time for the pirate ships to come around, at least then you have a chance when game mechanics get in the way. I HATE stealth missions, and I won't play games that are centered o them. So why am I force to do it in a game that has absolutely no central focus on it. I though the horse catching was bad enough (I hate that too, and avoid it in the rest of the game), but this is far worse. I've been trying to finish for days. I only came close once, and my char sat down instead of crouching when I was jumping on the mast area. Every day, I try it, fail for an hour, then give up altogether.

heya i have been watching the evildousharm videos on this as he seems to be making one for each area per day. i think he will have all the vids done by the end of this week.

i am hoping i can help you out here. you have to hit 'Q' and then after that  'spacebar'. this will make your character lay down. and do NOT hold these down like i did btw. just hit them once. so when the ships come hit 'Q' then 'spacebar' to lay down and you will not be detected. then when the ships are gone hit the two keys again to stand up and do your search again. another helpful thing, it seems after you do manage to get the flare that even if you die and restart you will still have the flare. i think i died twice while doing this one and also my game bugged out twice so i had to restart the game twice. just total crap.

for this part you do not have to really read it, this is just my venting. i think all i have seen so far on the forums is complaints about the magnus. and i TOTALLY agree. this is pretty much the worse content ever. i would have been ok with it if they had just released it and said hey, if you like oddball puzzles etc that have nothing at all to do with the regular game here is a questline for you. and maybe had some kind of a costume as a reward for completing it. but locking fast travel and shared inventory behind this is absolute garbage. i am being forced to do all kinds of activities that make no sense and i have to watch youtube videos to get through. and putting the V armor at the end is just something to try to make sure players do this i assume.

what should have happened is there should have just been a release and all the storages you have are now unlocked. and then if they wanted some kind of quest for the V armor. maybe some other short questline to unlock the fast travel (which the way it is implemented is pretty much garbage too) - honestly before the patch hit i expected for fast travel we would go to the inn of the town and click on a portal or something. only to find we have to go to a well outside of the city, go through several cut scenes, blah blah blah - every freaking time we want to use fast travel. 

this def goes down on my list as one of the worst implementations of an idea in a game ever. if you did read my rant, i hope the suggestions i put at the top help you finish the stupid cruise part.

I don't know, I think the quest that had an earhquake non-stop was an awful pukefest and mind you that I don't feel nautious playing games or get migraines. I feel really bad for those who are sensitive to that stuff. To me, I would say that quest was the worst but you are right on your accounts.

Magnus really needs to be reviewed for improvement, it just released but it needs to be "remastered" LOL.

That quest gave me cancer. It gave me aids. It gave me a stroke and I have 5 days to live because of it. PA should be ashamed of themselves. In fact whoever had a hand in creating that mess from start to finish should be fired. I wish them nothing but ill.

Worst gaming experience I have ever gone through. Seriously. 

The idea of it is great but the implimentation of it is so bad that it's baffling how it even got added to the game in the state it's in.

Magnus = garbage content made by interns.

The graphic black ocean and faraway clouds are so awfull make me want to vomit, if it wasnt for the new skill no one would do it after 5 minutes inside.

The most worst content ever so far made by PA in Bdo.

This is the worst content I've ever experienced and I hate that I'm forced to do it. Such a waste of time. 

I completely agree. This could be a fun quest, if:

- your view weren't blocked almost always when trying to look around a little

- your character wouldn't respawn in combat stance after failing, so you have to put your weapon away first before you could even try to crouch

- it would matter if you are under water (but no, I was definitely under and running out of breath, the pirates still saw and shot me)

- you would get 1 flare out of the boxes after starting the quest (I circled around the wreckage, checked every purple ball, no flare - so I had to wait for their respawn)

But right now it's frustrating as hell and after my third day on it I tend to think I will skip the rest of the Magnus...

I never lied down, just crouched. It was enough to "hide" from pirates, even if my character was in full view. We actually had a good laugh about it when my bf's huge guardian was crouching on top of a box in water, totally visible but apparently invisible to the pirates eyes.

I kept track of which spots I checked and didn't need to double-check to find the flare.

I did have some issues too though. One, there were no spots to search on my first try. There was 1 glowing spot on the other side of the ship and I couldn't interact with it. I had to get killed for the searchable places to appear.

And diving underwater didn't work for me or my bf.

Overall I've been enjoying The Magnus questline though. Wuju's voice acting is superb, props to the voice actor!

Magnus content is sooo fucking bad.
