I thought about posting this in a thread about keybind difficulties and key modifiers a few weeks back but like..
idk how PA feels about people changing things like this so I opted not to..
but being that there are legit accessibility issues here, I figured Id throw it out there and if this is a no no pls delete, but if its OK maybe someone who speaks for PA can chime in
But there is a keybind file I believe for each of your characters
within there it may be possible to rebind the key(s) you're looking for
If PA doesnt have objections to that, perhaps somebody could make a guide
iirc it a bit of a pain to actually find the file
but uh.. maybe dont do that unless we know PA is cool with it
They dont seem to mind us changing our profile pics, and this would just be changing keybinds but idk
I don't see a reason why they would oppose if it doesn't give you an advantage. Kinda their fault for putting it all in plaintext bwahaha >:) jk

Mind you this wouldn't be any different than using a third party tool to swap the keys for you. From my understanding you just can't use macros. In other words, this is like using your G-keys or MMO mouse keys, no macro here.

I just checked this file, it contains alot of keybinds.
But changing them in this file is not possible. I tried to change the "crouch" key from Q to Ü (keycode 81 to 59) but it did not work and resets itself after a relog.

Right click on the file and set the permission to Read Only. BDO won't be able to change the file but that also means you can't change settings in-game until you unlock the file. Did that work?

I messaged a person who set their keybinds up this way, they say they have never had that issue- but they have only used english keyboard characters.
Read only shouldnt be required, they change their keybinds in game as well and have no issues
Are you sure you are editting the right characters keybinds?

I'm super glad to see this post actuallly gaining some traction. Maybe sometime soon PA will take a peek at it as well and finally fix this issue.

No, did not work.
The file did not overwrite but the key change only works if i use a key i also can set ingame.
