Hey there PA,

This morning I was playing for hours and did a few other things before life skilling for the whole day. Then a friend of mine from another guild joins my discord - we talked and you know what? It feel like we are far apart from two ends of the bridge! The bridge should be holding and supporting lots of group content and activities for us to do! But for the love of god!! Where is the real group content that my friends (from another guild) and I (which I have a guild) can play together? We both have guilds and we want to share the fun together! Also, the same goes for guilds group content... there is a BIG group content problem!

PA, if you want to make your game better, try and support group content to bring the community together! We are in dire need of group contents for Guild to Guild (Friendly group activities) and guild-only group content!!

WHHHHERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Look, I know that many of you say that we can try areas where it supports group play, for example: Waragon Nest. It requires a group of three. Second, there are hunting activities for a group of 2, which is through the south of odraxx. Boat sailing and active group fishing is an okay with group content and RP. But........ WHERE IS the proper group content!!!!!?? Friendly group content for guilds and guilds to guilds where it can be more fun and exciting????

The problem is they are not good at doing group content. Current group contents are so bad designed that they are practically dead cuz no one find those worth the time. Do you really think they will out of nowhere start making good group content?

That's right. Also BDO is a solo game.

They tried to implement some teamwork with the outcoming of Shai but they kind of left that boat sinking then...

I'd like to see some Paladin (tank and heal) and a few more dungeons and more bosses for groups but it's not the initial purpose of the game, oriented solo pvp and pve.

Maybe they'll try and adapt in the future by bringing some more teamplay characters (I'd love that!) with some dedicated missions and bosses.

I had a dream...

BDO Group Content: Nodewar, Siegewar, Guildboss, Atoraxxion Dungeon, Group Grind Spots, RBF, AOS.

BDO is a "sandbox" mmorpg. This means that the game gives the players tools and systems, with which you create your own group content. "ThemePark" MMORPG (such as WoW, FF14, GW2) do not give you any systems or tools, but prefabricated content (Raids, Dungeon, Arena, Battlegrounds).
The problem with BDO Group Content is that there is little until no reason nowadays. Especially in the Soft Cap Level phase, everything is feasible alone. PA kills for a lot of players the need of looking for a group with the power boost from the Season Server Gear. In the past, every opponent was a challenge, which is why it was a great advantage to look for a group.
I would like more systems tools or dynamic events in the open game world that include PVE and PvP and need large groups.

So you want the community to be anti-social at an even higher level and be divided even more than it's already is?

why u think that when i say "I would like more systems tools or dynamic events in the open game world that include PVE and PvP and need large groups." ?

I just dont want this typical themepark kind of group content. I want that the enemys are harder (so u have a reason to group up) and want more large scale open world group events (like city invasion or fighting for the loot of bosses against other groups)

This makes me think about Pirate Island in the early days.  It was the most lucrative grind zone, but relatively small in size (not that many rotations compared to now).  The "best" rotation was main rotation...the one near the docks, in the central area of the island near the southern shores.  Thing is, this rotation was rather large....yes, you could probably solo a portion of it, but main rotation was the group rotation at Pirate's.

I remember, back in the day, approaching groups of random players and asking if I could join their group.  Some would let me in, some wouldn't, but what made it great was the organic player-interaction it encouraged.  Approaching strangers who are grinding and asking "Hey, got room for one more? :D" is something we NEVER do anymore.  Not even in group zones like Castle Ruins or Mirumok....people go in pre-made groups, which negates the need for this type of organic player-interaction.

I remember the island accomodated both solo grinders and group grinders.  Most solo grinders would be in one of the Jungle rotations or one of the beach-side rotations.  And groups would be in main.  This, to me, is what made Pirate Island truly one of a kind and special.  GVG's would break out in main, if you wanted to be left alone, there were side rotations that were pretty good, and main rotation was quite contested, so organic conflict over it was not uncommon.  I know many people in this forum are anti-PVP, be it for whatever reason, but to me, PVP interactions made holding main rotation at Pirate's all that much more meaningful.

I wish we had a single grind zone in BDO that could cater to both solo and group grind, simultaneously.  Would be great if it was hard to get to as well, like how Pirate's required a long boat ride.  Made actually getting there meaningful and needing to plan out your stay since you couldn't just auto path back to Velia in less than 5 mins.

i dident play BDO at this time (Pirate Island), but i heared about it many times. Thats the stuff and kind of group Content that i miss in BDO and would fit in the PvX Sandbox Design of the Game. I had post a Idea that goes in this direction but not with Grind spots but with new Bosses in the open world. My Idea was:

"Another thing that I personally find very fun would be bosses, for example, who have one loot pool that is shared with others in the group. No individual loot. A group rolls for the loot or talk about who gets which item. This would also give open World Pvp a completely new meaning. Different groups want to kill the same boss, but do not want to share the loot with other groups. As a result, you fight the other groups while trying to kill the boss and get the loot for ur group. Or decide to deal with other groups and become a larger group and share the loot. its up to the players. A struggle between the groups/guilds around the loot of the boss are then created. If you do not form a group, you have little chance of getting something from the loot. Many will form groups to increase their chance. But if you are in a group with a lot of players, you get less from the loot. So you have to weigh whether you go in a large group or fight against other groups while trying to kill the boss first. For this you need a tracking system that only gives the group the loot that has done the most damage to the boss. Players with bad gear would probably form larger groups compared to better equipped players in order to be able to do more damage. As a boss, you could use the field bosses that almost nobody does today. To do this, you would have to improve/adapt its loot. Just an idea to bring PVE and PvP closer."

For Grind Spots would be very fun a trigger system after killing a ton of mobs at a special spot, it spawns a big world boss that kill every player at the spot and then goes to the next city and attack it (kills NPC´s there). On his way the boss kills every Player lol. U need the hole power of the players in the region to kill this boss, Everyone can participate. I mean how cool it would be for a new player, that start playing BDO for the first time see a big world boss attacking the city while he just was in the city for selling his trash loot and then BBAAAAM.... get a one shot from the Boss that attacks the City :D

BDO is missing this spontaneity and organic social dynamics. But what we get is Magnus, a solo player instance story telling Content :D

The problem is they are not good at doing group content.

This actually.

Besides grind spots and grinding wheels, everything they added fell short.

Savage rift : dead

Altar of blood : dead

Pit of the undying : dead

Dungeons : deserted, at least compared to what is supposed to be the current active playerbase

AOS : one of the simplest pvp mode to design, and they managed to mess with it with badly designed mechanics and maps

RBF : only one new map in recent years, and they managed to choose the worst (Valencia)

Thorn Castle (PvPvE mode) : abandoned

They know how to make action combat.

They know how to make nice seamless openworld aeras.

The trade / management / lifeskills systems can be good and innovative on some aspects (even if very grindy)

The base is strong, but they're quite weak with everything else. What was here at releae (grindspot, lifeskills and territory wars) is still the most relevant content. In the following years, they haven't been able to deisgn anything else that really stuck.
