I'm neutral on this, I understand the argument, but at the same time, unlike the potions which are basically mandatory for long term game plan, they're basically a permanent HP and MP regen buff for your character, the rest of the treasure items are just, mostly collectibles with a neat little ability on them, so I don't see a need for the pity system for them (coming from someone that has neither map or compass, but has parts of each, just never finished the grind).

Either way am not in favor or against it. But if it bothers that many people *shrug*.

One of the major arguments I have in favor of a "Pity" system for these treasure items, is that obtaining them isn't hard. A lot of players in this game say things are "Hard to get for a reason". These current systems are based purely on luck which cannot be countered by skill. If something is hard, it can be countered by skill and perseverance. Some adventurers spend 10 hours on a compass/map, while others spend 1000's. Seems like a system based solely on luck.

Another argument that could arise is, well it's hard to grind for 1000's of hours and it takes perseverance, and yes, I agree. But what also could take perseverance is a guaranteed system. What many people in this thread are probably suggesting, is not that these treasure items should be as easy to obtain via pities as the potions, nor am I. What could be in place is a system that guarantees you the item, at the end of a long journey. I'm currently going for a Carrack right now, and it's taking time, and careful planning, but I'm guaranteed to get a Carrack at the end, which keeps me motivated. Like someone else said, even the Nol has one guaranteed option if ALL else fails. At least it's in the game.

I already have one map piece from Sulfur, level 20 invested and level 14 so far at Pila Ku with Hystria/Aakman next, I'm prepared to do the RNG grind, but it would be nice having some staircase to climb, rather than reaching around in the dark.

I support pity system for anything that relies heavily on very low rng.

I was one of the lucky ones and finished map and compass in 100hrs total, all while I was new and barely geared for the content. Im not prepared to imagine how miserable it would be as a top end players dropping a thousand hours into elten piece and being no closer than someone on their first hour.

Having more common drops that can be combined to offset horrendous luck is just good game design and I would not feel like they devalue my treasures at all.

When I was grinding Elten the thought that always crossed my mind is that there should be an exchange x Vodkan pieces -> 1 Elten

idk what that x number would be, but it would be an easy approach

Without mini parts grind compass and map is pointless. I already played Aakman more hours (always during a drop event and additionally with a drop scroll) than it took me to get both infinity potions!

Just because something is a treasure doesn't mean it should be locked with an unrealistic rng drop with a 0.002% chance.

There is no guaranteed reward then what's the point of wasting time? And this is another aspect that the PA does not understand.

I started grinding invinity potions only after adding mini parts, weekly quests and marni zones. It was obviously a huge waste of money that I could have earned in other zones during this time, but I knew that sooner or later I would have these infinity potions.

I completed 2 maps in under 50 hours, while just the Ronaros potion piece took me that long itself. That just shows how much luck is involved. They could just add a weekly for the compass/map, each week you get 1 item, turn in 50 for the compass/map. Maybe you get it yourself before the year, but otherwise you're guaranteed to get it in a year.

All treasure items are luxary items. Not even the infinite pots are mandatory, it's just so rediculously convenient with them is all. That being said, implementing a pity system for infinite pots was a good change, and I find it contradictory to not add some form of failsafe for compass and map. Personally, you should be able to exchange x amount of duplicates for a specific piece. Regarding map and compass parts especially. Elten is very brutal, it took me 1632 hours alone to drop it. With the drop rate being so low and the potential to be hit with duplicates of other peices, it's just super unjustified for some to drop it under 100 hours while others potentially 1000+. Simply too wide spread, with the possibility it may never drop. I don't believe Nol needs any changes however, there is at least a garenteed way of obtaining it. But it would be nice to have something in place as a peace of mind that their efforts aren't wasted IMO.

Hmm, true, probably been too long since I grinded a treasure item, the disparity of time that it can take to get the item, with such a low drop chance can be ridiculously unfair. +1

As somebody who has gotten the map and worked for the compass for a not-so-insignificant amount of time. +1

i got the pots, map and compass now, so idc anymore about pities.

Its really not a big deal, pots are pretty much mandatory, i use the map everyday cuz teleport is godly, but the compass is 90% dust collector.

Not to a sea barterer

As one of those poor souls who is still in the stormy task of finding 2 of the 3 pieces of the compass...

Black Desert is supposed to be a game, and the goal of any game is to escape from difficult situations, work, frustration, and enjoy our free time. But I dare to say that the developers does not know what is to go around the same exact rotation for almost 2 years, in a dark area like Hystria, up to the level of having nightmares with that damned Elten.

When I started BDO was enjoyable, but that luck based and near zero droprate item is going to end my journey in the game. They need to rethink how a treasure must be obtained...
They love to count how many treasures are builded, how many foxes or wolves or other creatures are killed and they show them in the Calpheon and Heidel Ball, so why not send us to kill I don't know... maybe a million Eltens to get a guaranted piece. At least in this way they will give meaning to those endless hours in that bloody hell called Hystria.
