Please listen to these artists PA :)
I am kinda torn on this update.
On one hand I understand the change and the reasons why, but to not include some way to apply it to already done works?
That just seems a lazy approach to the rollout of the update.
I have only made a few songs myself so for me its not to hard to change what i have done, Butt my heart goes out tto those who have done so many songs. The true heros of our music community have been walked over like a carpet underfoot by this change.
A fair majority of the songs in my Music album sound quite different now, and as has been mentioned by others, they were made by people no longer playing the game so can't be fixed.
Please PA can you make a way to apply this "fix" to already existing music?
Here's a compilation of some of my songs, so many of you who do not compose or understand how bad the situation actually is can hear a before and after.

Most of my youtube content and unfinished projects are now irrelevant thanks to a patch no one asked for (as far as I'm concerned). All of my classical songs like clair de lune (2 parts), vivaldi's winter (2 parts), nocturnes (2 parts), and serenade (#5) listed above are the most affected ones since classical pieces rely A LOT on velocity. I wouldn't have cared at all if the patch affected songs moving forward, but what this patch did feels like someone decided to overwrite months worth of work I put into more than 200 files on whimp. I tried revising a song today and it took me nearly an hour to fix it... with that said I will not be revising/updating any of my old songs as if this is some kind of punishment. I would like to have my old songs completely restored like everyone else who took time to contribute to this post though I'm not sure how long it might take or how effective this will be, just know that this sudden change was a huge mistake and out of respect for a small community who constantly makes content for BDO (although unappreciated and unnoticed but steadily growing), most of us would like this to get fixed soon.

This week's patch adversely affected thousands of compositions made with florchestra instruments across all regions.
The change was presumably well-intentioned and it can be argued that it did improve the quality of the sound to some extent.
Altering the values where the velocity changes which sample is being played from ( Old 0-99, 100-120, 121-127 ) to ( New 0-39, 40-109, 110-127 )
inadvertently worsened if not ruined a large portion of compositions created or in the process of being made using the previous values.
This is unacceptable, and whoever thought it was a good idea to implement a change with such a negative retroactive effect should have had the foresight to solve the problem(s) it would cause before implementing it.
To offer an audience perspective, I've seen how BDO's Shai musicians bring the community together, at event locations, or in random spots creating their own events. Their music is an ice breaker that opens conversations among gamers who otherwise are only focusing on their own play. What I've found is that many are sensitive selfless souls who invest a lot of time and pride in their creations. Their only compensation for what they bring to the game is their satisfaction in their work and the pleasure they bring to others.
How long have the compositions been accumulating now? To have undermined all that, their creators, their audience, and the game, was irresponsible. Please find a way to correct what has been broken, and consider transitions when future changes are made.
Hi PA, the music shai community already have a list of suggestions ready to go (if you're looking for things to improve)
I dont interact with the music system so much any more, but it is one of the cooler features in BDO. If a fix isnt found for this it would be terrible for our existing collections as well as very demotivating for any new content to be created.. I think this is one of those things that PA knows went wrong and will fix, but here is a bump for visibility just incase ^^
PS you music people are amazing <3
Please send my thanks to the team for listening, I look forward to this update in the future if it comes back in a way that doesnt mess with older songs.
Thanks for the quick reply! Also, thanks for jumping on this and resolving this quickly! Lord knows how tricky computer programming is: the results of the update must not have been foreseen. I hope the future of music composition in this game only improves!
